Hi, all!

Long time no see, but we’ve been busy bees working on the hardmode.

Hardmode can be unlocked even if you haven’t finished the game and will not affect previous progress. However, if you didn’t unlock a level on normal mode, it will not be available on hardmode. It can be toggled on/off from the main menu. When enabled, save points will be deactivated and you have to collect all the QBITs. Also, you need to finish the level in the required time, otherwise it will automatically restart.

Hope you enjoy both the challenge and the achievements!

- drones now despawn when they can't buy the resources they need to operate

- combat drones now occasionally check if there are too many of them and remove themselves if necessary

- added better logging on system update lag spikes

Surviving in the apocalypse is hard enough as it is, so we want to make it a little bit easier. We want you to be able to survive (or try to) in your own language.



Official Translations
In the rapidly approaching full release, we will be adding official support for the French language, in addition to the existing official translations to German and Chinese. Special thanks again to those who helped support these languages before we created official translations - ZombieKingdom (Chinese), and Senhar (French).

Integrating Community Translations
In addition, we are working with modders that created the Spanish, Italian and Russian languages, to integrate their translations directly into the game, so you won't need to download the mods from the workshop. Special thanks to Nivaska (Russian), Darth Vader (Italian) and Siodog (Spanish).

If any of you want to help translate to additional languages, please drop us an email to contact@suncrash.com, or come chat with us on our discord server. I would also like to thank all our other modders, that added cool game modes, languages, and other improvements to the game.

We are especially excited to offer the upcoming campaign story in so many languages. Can't wait!
AppGameKit Classic: Easy Game Development - Rick
Today AppGameKit - GameGuru Loader advances with many new features including rag doll physics and an improved vegetation system. Here's a full run down of the latest improvements to this game focused source code for AppGameKit:

  • Improved 3D physics support
  • Ragdoll support, a single function that can add ragdoll physics to your characters - CreateRagdoll(objID)
  • The Kinematic Bullet: interact with Ragdolls and objects by shooting a kinematic bullet
  • 3D physics now set the real center of mass for all objects
  • All physics objects now use convex hull shapes by default
  • We've added direct support for more media including all the new PBR media
  • Increased the vegetation baking. Vegetation is now way more intense and covers the terrain better
  • Bug fixes, support more point lights, improved new level loading and more!
  • Underwater post processing shader has been added, makes your underwater levels look great!

GameGuru Loader can now draw much more vegetation in your scene

Doughlings: Arcade - Smalltime

When you are developing a game, you focus on many things like the gameplay, graphics, story or characters. By today's standards, the sound and music are also one of them. Without the right tune and sound effects, it is nearly impossible to capture the player. Today we will talk about how we have approached this side of Doughlings: Arcade.

The story of our game is all about the Doughlings folks. They have been poisoned by a meteor crash and now each one of them has a different personality. To show the player how they really feel, Serkan Özay, Creative Director of Hero Concept decided to record unique sounds for every Doughlings in the game. And the result is just hilarious. These are just one of the targets and their reactions during the gameplay. Besides their visual differences, we wanted to give them another identity with unique voices. This helped us a lot to achieve the tone of Doughlings: Arcade we have now.

Let’s Do This!
Not only targets but personas had to be identified as well. To achieve it, we have worked with Richard Anderson, the one and only “Nokia, Connecting People” voice. Since this is a game based on different personas, they must appear with a style, right? So we did that and the result is below.

As you see for all 7 personas, there is one unique call out when the player morphs into them. Of course, we didn’t work with Mr. Anderson just for persona sounds. We have recorded some funny lines as well just to play with the player. 😉 Check out the example from below.

And the Music
Of course, you can’t make a game without well-crafted songs. Thanks to Başar Ünder, we have managed to capture the 80s funky tunes and combine them with retro sounds. You will hear 5 different, totally unique songs in Doughlings: Arcade including one for each world, one for the main menu and one for the level editor. You can check out the Ruins soundtrack from below.

Congratulations to all of our creators who had their pieces accepted! As usual, we will be offering feedback to select pieces to help guide them to meet our style guidelines in preparation for Round 13. If you don’t receive feedback from us, it is because your creation simply strays too far from the Warframe aesthetic or doesn’t quite accomplish enough to differentiate it from other works.

As a recommendation to all creators (whether you have multiple accepted pieces or you’re aspiring to one day get your items in-game), please be sure to review our Basic Art Guide and other TennoGen guides. They’re an essential resource to help identify common mistakes, like excessive use of emissives, the need to ground your piece in an existing Faction or incorporating real-life details that are too literal.

If you’ve seen the NoClip documentary, I’m sure you heard how we try to add a Warframe spin to every concept we do; this should be something you do to your creations as well! Abstraction is key so go crazy and think outside the box! The creativity and innovation of our TennoGen creators is what makes this program so special and amazing.
