Just Survive - OneLetter

Greetings Survivors!

While we are keeping the survey (available here) open for additional responses, we've already gotten a tremendous response and are starting to analyze and react to the data.

Our first priorities at the moment are addressing issues related to body simulation, ammunition availability, and construction costs.  This update includes stamina system changes from this feedback.  We will have additional survey-driven changes in thursday's update, and additional changes in the following week.

One of the most polarizing features of Just Survive is the tiered weapons and armor system, with a fairly even split of players loving it or disliking it.  We've solicited feedback on how players would like to see this system improved here.

This update includes the following changes:
  • Fixed an issue causing parent / children relationship issues between upgraded components and their children in certain conditions
  • Opening the base permissions menu now requires the owner to be holding the Stronghold hammer
  • Closed gaps on Stone, Metal, Wood doors and gates
  • Removed nail cost from metal shacks
  • Fixed an issue causing poor driving down foundation ramps
  • Barbecues no longer drop a non-functional item named "Dropped Items"
  • Assault Ramps can now be crafted - these ramps allow an enemy player to attach a fragile, temporary ramp to your foundation's edge
  • Fixed an issue with BWC loot bags not dropping from vehicles correctly
  • Fixed an issue with BWC loot bags containing starter loot
  • Reverted Headshot changes (.308 headshots always kill through all helmets)
  • Melee attacks should no longer penetrate walls at close range
  • Reduced spawns for exploder, gasser, banshee
  • Increased stamina regeneration signficantly
  • All Superade items now regenerate stamina in addition to their other attribute bonuses
  • Craftable juices now restore stamina
  • Improved zombie pathing through foundations
  • Fixed several crash scenarios
  • Fixed an exploit involving eating food
This update also includes the following changes from 2/1:
  • Fixed an issue that could cause players to die in secured areas when dealing damage to their own containers
  • Fixed an issue that caused crafting to fail the first time when a workbench was required.
And the following changes from 1/30:
  • Reduced the cost of Wood and Metal Construction components
  • Increased hitpoints of Metal Construction components
  • Reduced the cost of Metal Shacks
  • Increased hit points of Metal Shacks
  • Added Stone Construction components
  • The Demolition Hammer has been renamed to "Stronghold Hammer"
  • You can interact with base components to upgrade or paint them when you have the Stronghold Hammer equipped
  • Base Foundation placement detection improved and Base Foundation objects go deeper into the ground - Foundations are now much easier to place and can be placed in many more locations
  • Removed ramps from 3 sides of Base Foundations and made Foundations rotatable during snapping
  • Improved recursive destruction (added re-parenting on loss of parent).  This means that you must blow up all supports for a base component before it will be destroyed, rather than just the original component supporting it
  • Storage Containers now drop their loot in a loot bag on death, rather than dropping the items individually (addresses performance issues during raiding)
  • Storage Containers cannot be opened by players who do not have permissions to open them
  • Storage Containers have increased hitpoints
  • Removed Pipebomb
  • Renamed I.E.D. to Ethanol Bomb
  • Adjusted tier rankings of Dynamite, Ethanol Bomb, Dynamite Bundle to match explosive value
  • Increased bulk of dynamite
  • Yeast (an explosive component) is now craftable
  • Players who die in cars now have their loot dropped into the car's inventory
  • Cars that are destroyed now drop their loot in a bag
  • Starter torches cannot be placed
  • Improved armor functionality versus melee weaponry
  • Improved Helmet functionality against low tier .308 Rifles
  • Increased the number of ammunition spawns
  • Reduced Banshee scream radius
  • Reduced Banshee damage to vehicles
  • Reduced Gasser damage
  • Gassers and Exploders now work properly on PVE servers
  • Reduced burning time for players
  • Fixed an issue where players would be in passive stance when exiting a vehicle
  • Fixed an issue that made it diffcult to harvest some crops
  • Fixed several crash scenarios
  • Fixed a memory leak
  • Fixed a vehicle exploit
  • Fixed an item exploit
  • Fixed a construction placement bug that allowed certain items to be placed in the same location (to no gameplay benefit - not an exploit)
  • Improved "no clip" cheat protection
  • Removed player-to-player collisions (eliminates "boosting" as well as some other issues and griefing vectors)
  • Fixed an issue that allowed players to enter the Quarantine Zone on both maps and sometimes caused players to spawn there
  • Updated anti-cheat countermeasures
This update includes the following known issues (updated 2/6)
  • Upgrade system can display incorrectly for upgrading metal to white metal / green metal
  • Upgrade system does not currently work with construction permissions (it will when this goes Live) - right now only the owner of the base can upgrade
  • Stone Construction components are missing vfx/sfx, most notably open/close sounds and destruction vfx - these are still in development
  • Upgrading doors causes them to lose their codes
  • Doors/Windows/Gates whose door frames have been upgraded before the 2/6 update may not open correctly - remove and rebuild the door to fix this issue
  • Some components upgraded before 2/6 may have components attached to them that exhibit incorrect behavior, IE not allowing a player to build on them, or floating after their parent is destroyed
When reporting an issue, please provide the following (you can copy/paste this as a handy template)
  • Summary: (brief sentence)
  • Reproduction Steps: (what did you do to arrive at the bug?)
  • Expected Outcome: (what do you believe should happen when you do the above?)
  • Actual Outcome: (what actually happened?)
Please use this thread to report bugs and issues found on JS Test!

For centuries now, the Andorians have been proud founding members of the Federation. The incident on Paan Mokar (or Weytahn, as it would have been known to the Andorians) is a shameful reminder of the Andorians’ violent past, and they are determined to reassert their commitment to the Federation and its values. Join a Starfleet-Imperial Guard task force to hunt down and arrest the fugitive Tarah, still at large after the incident on Paan Mokar.

Adventurers!

Our team has been hard at work to bring you Alpha 2.0 of Battlecursed. The entire team would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to everyone participating in Early Access. With your help, we will achieve our goal of creating a stellar game shaped by community feedback! Let’s dive in to what you can expect from today’s Alpha release version of Battlecursed.

The majority of our development time thus far has been put into the creation of a framework of artwork, tools, and game systems that allow us to rapidly deploy new content and iterate based on your feedback, and our goal is to implement new content based on your suggestions as quickly as possible.

When you play Battlecursed, you will experience gameplay that is a mix of designer created levels, randomized elements, and player choice. For example, after each dungeon, you choose your next path (all of which have varying rewards & difficulties), but choosing the same path each time may not always send you to the same area. In this way, you can expect different challenges each time you begin your adventure.

World Generation: On launch day, you will be able to experience dozens of dungeons from Act I located underground; ancient ruins, caves, and sewers. You will notice that not all environments have made it to the ‘enhanced detail’ stage of development, so some may look and feel more barren than others.

Combat and Adventure: The core of the combat system is implemented and functioning. You may use abilities to deal damage to enemies using first-person camera controls and aiming. The Heroes you choose will have two functioning active abilities with cooldowns. Passive effects and Ultimate abilities are not currently implemented.

Enemies have varying combat abilities/AI and will relentlessly pursue your Heroes. Basic units will use standard melee and ranged attacks with leader units utilizing special abilities. Not all status effects on the Heroes and enemies are currently implemented.

Persistent RPG and non-combat Adventure elements are not currently implemented. There are currently objectives in each dungeon that trigger the spawning of keys in order to unlock the portal to the next dungeon, but this system will be greatly expanded on as Early Access progresses.

Storytelling: On launch day, you will see none of the story of Battlecursed in game. Cinematics, voiceover, and lore collectibles and content are still to come. Our Lead Writer has prepared a brief introduction to the story here.

Heroes: You will be limited to choosing eight static Heroes from four class guilds with sixteen different active abilities; Grave Knight, Cleric, Elementalist, and Huntress. These Heroes will not die permanently during this phase of Early Access.

Bestiary: About a third of the enemy types are in the Act I content available on launch day. Enemies are fully animated, but only a few have special attacks and apply status effects to your Heroes. Enemies do not currently use group tactics or coordinated special attacks. Boss encounters are still to come.

Gameplay Modes: In these earliest builds you will only be playing Adventure Mode, the primary experience in Battlecursed to progress through Acts I through IV while discovering the history of Pylandria and uncovering the dark enigma of Xelo Van’s power.

Reward Systems: While you can open chests and receive rewards at the end of each dungeon, you do not currently have an inventory, so you can not store or equip items. You will find gold as you play, but it is not stored and cannot be spent. The Town is locked, so the functionality for obtaining persistent upgrades is not yet implemented.

We are committed to being transparent with the Early Access community at all times and in all respects: from our development progress, current state of the game, and most importantly, your feedback. All types of feedback and suggestions are welcome and encouraged!

TIPS AND TRICKS:
  • Press G at any time in game to pause and read the descriptions for each of your Heroes’ abilities.

  • Some abilities require you to hold the mouse button to charge and release to fire (Explosive Sphere, Snipe) or continuously hold to sustain (Dragon Breath).

  • Don’t forget to use health potions! Select an active Hero to heal and use the Shift key to consume a health potion.

  • Every dungeon has an objective (or two) that will spawn a key to unlock the portal when completed. Keys may spawn in places you have already been, so you may need to retrace your steps!

  • Players can always get the game controller instructions by pausing the game (Esc) and selecting “Instructions”. We support both Keyboard/Mouse and PC Controllers.

SOME KNOWN ISSUES:
  • Damage numbers are not always rounded on your Hero portraits, you may occasionally see multiple numbers past the decimal point.

  • Occasionally, when starting the game, the first-person camera will not respond to mouse movement. This is almost always caused by another device such joysticks, gamepads, and VR devices. In most cases, restarting the game will fix the issue. However, you may need to disable or unplug the other devices.[/ist]

Kerbal Space Program - daniele.peloggio

With over a year in the making, we are getting closer to bringing Kerbal Space Program towards its next leap forward. Today, we are proud and super excited to announce that Kerbal Space Program: Making History Expansion will be available for PC on March 13th, 2018.

Kerbal Space Program: Making History Expansion brings a lot of new and exciting content to KSP, including the powerful and intuitive Mission Builder, where you will have the tools to create and share your own scenarios with other players. We are also including the History Pack, a set of missions ready to be played immediately, inspired by historical moments in space exploration, and more.

The new Mission Builder puts the process of creating and editing missions in your hands with endless possibilities. You’ll be able to customize your own missions to include launches, landings, rescues, malfunctions, explosions, repairs, and much more. You can set unique victory conditions, add exciting challenges, and place unexpected obstacles to keep other players on their toes as they play through these complex missions. Challenge others to complete your missions by sharing them with the Kerbal Space Program community!

The History Pack includes a variety of pre-made missions inspired by humankind’s own space exploration. Now you can spacewalk, pull off a crash landing, and attempt to recreate some of the most memorable moments inspired by historic events. But with our unique Kerbal twist, of course.

The expansion also includes a bunch of new parts and astronaut suits inspired by the Space Race that you can use throughout Kerbal Space Program!

After our last "chef’s" post and all the wild guesses, we thought you deserve another look under the lid. Moreover, we can't resist the urge to show you a couple of pictures from another new region!

Two weeks ago, your guesses (of what was ultimately revealed as Oregon for ATS) took the comments sections on our blog, Facebook and Steam community pages by storm. We're wondering, will the new batch be as intriguing for you?

A few tiny hints are scattered here and there, which can lead you to the right answer - but it’s not that easy this time! Is there someone who can pinpoint the new area with absolute certainty?
