Release: Build Scenes Faster
Over the past two weeks we made building scenes faster, added a home area and added support for SketchFab models via glTF.


Models now Have ‘Snapping’
At the beginning of January we added primitives and Poly so it was really easy to build a scene with models. Getting those models exactly how you wanted — like getting a plate to sit flat on a table — was tricky.

So I’m excited to announce that all models in Sketchbox now have snapping. It’s makes building scenes waaay faster. Models will now snap to the ground plane — so it’s easy to anchor and align objects. Models will also snap to each other, so you can build a house with primitives and get the rug and the dining room table to snap to the floor.

Snapping is difficult to get just right, and this is the first iteration — expect updates in February.


Support for glTF Import
glTF is (hopefully) going to be the JPEG of 3D and we’re excited to announce that you can now import glTFs into Sketchbox.

Sketchfab is arguably the largest library of quality 3D assets and now all Sketchfab models that can be downloaded, can be used in Sketchbox as glTFs!

Learn how to import 3D models into Sketchbox here.


Find Examples in the Home Area
You can now access example scenes from the home area, and load your saved sketches.


Tutorial… Now with Confetti!
As more and more people use Sketchbox, some of them who are new to VR, we knew it was time to improve our tutorial. And of course, there’s now confetti.
