Orcs Must Die! Unchained - Harmoniabot
One of the top concerns within the Orcs Must Die! Unchained community since the massive 1.6 update has been the surplus of cards for traps that are Tier 7. In December, we told the community that higher tiers of traps were coming to OMDU with future content updates. However, the existing seven tiers of traps are balanced alongside the game’s difficulty level and there is currently no need for higher tiers of traps.

Instead of adding additional trap tiers we are introducing a system that will allow players to recycle their excess cards into a new currency and redeem this currency in a shop designed for higher level players, containing a variety of vanity and functional items.

We’re happy to share the rough design and some mock-ups for this new system to address excess trap cards as well as surplus trap parts.

HOW IT WORKS
For players who already have a surplus of trap cards, or more of a trap part than can be utilized, these extra cards will be converted to gibs automatically once the Premium Shoppe has been added to the game. You’ll log in and have a stack of gibs to spend in the new shop on day one.

When surplus trap cards or trap parts are received from chests after the Premium Shoppe has been added to the game, gibs will be received in lieu of excess trap cards.

GIBS FOR EVERYONE!
The Premium Shoppe will exist as an additional section of the existing OMDU store in the interface, and you will be able to see your balance of gibs when browsing the store. Gib balance will not display in the permanent currency tally in the top bar of the interface but can be tracked in this panel.

PHAT LOOT
The Premium Shoppe will have functional items, including:
  • Trap Part Chests
  • Rare and Epic Trap Chests (no common or uncommon trap cards)
The Premium Shoppe will also have vanity items, including some exclusives:
  • Vanity skins
  • 3 exclusive vanity skins, pictured below!
  • Additional vanity content

Destination Ares - Stralor
I've been hard at work. I made tons of quality of life improvements in this update. More to come in the next!

I'm short on time today, so I present the notes in the order they were written:
  • Added reminder for players after "Turn off everything" in the overheating event
  • Changed [chance] to [random] for better clarity of meaning
  • Changed [Inert] to [Passive] for better clarity of meaning (... "Inert" isn't a big word...)
  • Added "[ spacebar ]" hint next to minigame pings. Note: right-click also still works
  • Secret event choices are now also tagged in-line
  • Flipped highlight and press colors for event choices
  • Fuel cells now start on. Simplified rules: all large and/ or powered systems start disabled. This also means Toilets, Gyms, and others will start on.
  • Reduced hitboxes so you can now slide between diagonal mines more reliably
  • Fixed crew rotation not saving
  • Fixed a cause of character freezes
  • Changed resource tooltips so they can pop up during events
  • Fixed door placement being blocked by previously-placed hull art
  • Added and changed the parts symbol to a wrench
  • Reduced minigame difficulty slightly: Easy has +5 seconds (to 50), Medium has +5 seconds (to 55) and -1 mine (to max 14), Hard has -2 mines (to max 18)
  • Re-enabled screen shake on mine hit
  • Fixed closing pause menu in minigame (now resumes properly)
  • Prevented a possible source of minigames not ending after 0 seconds left
  • Colored minigame time left by result potential
  • Stopped clues showing up in the walls (because of pings)
  • Changed wording on the failure result of the spy story event to "wind rushing out" from "wind rushing past it"
  • Added "Random Keyword" option to ship building. Allows toggling of automatic "Random (50%)" system bonuses
  • Fixed crew's death flavor being colored as survived when they died (only happens on success, and none of you have gotten that far, lbh)
  • Added Abandon Ship button to the game screen
  • Added option for simplified tooltips (reduces mechanical text). Should be default for new players
  • Added more colors to important sections of tooltips
  • Increased opacity of tooltip background

FOR HONOR™ - Ubi_Gaidheal
Greeting Warriors,

Ubisoft is dedicated to creating a level playing field in our games, and the full For Honor development team is committed to constantly act against individuals trying to gain advantages from using hacks or bots. You can find below last week’s post on the subject.

http://forhonor.ubisoft.com/game/en-US/news-community/152-284823-16/our-approach-to-sanctioning-in-for-honor

This week we wanted to give your more visibility about our policy against players who are “AFK Farming” the For Honor Battlefields. For those unfamiliar with the practice, players are able to go AFK (away from keyboard) and keep their in-game character moving throughout a match (ex. tying a rubber band on the control stick), garnering end-game rewards and progression without actually playing. The “farming” aspect comes about when these players use this technique frequently to gain a large amount of these rewards.

Because this kind of behavior negatively affects the player experience of others, it has become a top priority for us. As such, we will be sanctioning all the players who have been found to be using AFK Farming repeatedly.

Depending on the situation, and the existence of additional sanctions already on a player’s account, we can apply different degrees of sanctions.

1st offense will trigger a warning, then, repeated violations may result in a Ubisoft account suspension applicable on the game (temporary or permanent).

Actual disciplinary action depends on the severity of the behavior and shall be decided at Ubisoft’s discretion, on a case by case basis.

Please understand that no details about the state of our investigation into this matter will be disclosed at any stage. Rest assured that sanctions will only be applied if there is clear evidence.

Starting early next week, warning sanctions will be applied to all first time offenders.

A BIG thanks to all who reported toxic behaviors from the game or customer support website!

In addition to the sanctions, we are currently working on improved methods of identifying and preventing AFK Faming.

As a reminder, our Code of Conduct can be found here:
http://forums.ubi.com/showthread.php/1548873-Code-of-Conduct

Honor: Fight, win and lose with Honor. Support your teammates.
Respect: Respect your opponents and other community members, inside and outside the game.
Share: Share your experience, share tips and hints, spread the word!

Looking forward meeting you all on the battlefields!
