For our final planned update of 2016 we're making some fixes and adding some silly stuff for you to enjoy. Thank you again for an oh-my-goodness-is-this-really-happening 2016 and we look forward to creating more Slime Rancher adventures in 2017.
Happy holidays!
Changes: - Added fashion pod gadgets! Fashion pods allow you to shoot costumes on to your slimes. We'll give you a moment to let that sink in. - Ok? Also added the taming bell and refinery link gadgets. - Added more slime lamps and gave the amber slime lamp some happy pills. - New icons for install/remove gadgets and remove crops. - Changed the Fabricate Gadget screen to keep the previously fabricated gadget selected. - Added an effect on the purchase screens to make it obvious when you make a purchase. - Added animations to the tutorial popups. - Added indicator to the tutorial popup when you complete the task requested. - Changed tutorials requiring an on-ranch action to hide themselves if you’re away from the ranch for 15 seconds. - Changed some tutorial timing and completion checks. - Adjusted treasure pod opening effect. - Changed the Slimepedia Vacpack tab to Tutorial and changed the entries to better mirror tutorial info. - Added some new treasure pods to the world. One of them is amazing. - Changed the colors of fill meters for the science resources. - Adjusted the volume for some sounds including extractor working sounds. - Added sound while the extractor is ready. The machines no longer dance in silence. Whoa, that sounded way more ominous than intended. - Strange diamonds, royal jelly, and lava dust now randomly show up as Range Exchange rewards (rarely) after unlocking Slime Science. - Tweaked rare drop rates on extractors to be slightly less rare.
Fixes: - Fixed bug where slimes and resources could get stuck under the ranch porch. - Fixed bug where some purchase buttons could be pressed via a gamepad while otherwise disabled. - Fixed an issue where Xbox One controllers on some versions of Windows 10 were not properly recognizing actions on the DPad. - Fixed bug where largos could be fired into or carried into walls in some situations. - Fixed bug where slime would sometimes vibrate back and forth while trying to look a particular direction. We've switched the slimes to decaf. - Fixed bug where the Range Exchange screen sometimes lost information at certain resolutions. - Fixed bug where transition between far and near versions of slimes was less smooth than intended. - Fixed bug where the red teleporter and warp depot were possible to unlock without acquiring the appropriate treasure pod.

It’s been a little while since my last update, so I figured it was about to time to reach out again, take a look back at 2016, and provide some teasers for what’s coming up next for WildStar.
First and foremost, let’s talk about Redmoon Mutiny—the second phase of WildStar’s latest raid, Redmoon Terror. It was released November 16, and I’ve had a great time watching our raiders jump in and go toe-to-toe with some of our most memorable and challenging bosses to-date. I’d like to give a big shout-out to Raid Designer Tyler Fuchs (CRB_Tyrius) and the rest of the WildStar team for delivering such a great experience, and another big shout to Codex for their world-first kill on Laveka the Dark-Hearted. Since then, we’ve had a number of guilds clear the raid, with many more in-progress. I also think that it’s important to note that we just recently dropped the faction barrier when creating groups for instanced content (including raids), as well as for social systems like circles and housing—allowing all of you to play together regardless of whether you’re an Exile fighting for your new home, or defending your galactic legacy as a proud Dominion citizen. Along with these tasty morsels, we’ve also enjoyed the spooky celebrations of this year’s Shade’s Eve, the dangerous delights of another Dungeon Chase, and the exciting exploits of this past weekend’s Double XP X-Plosion—and in just a few weeks we’ll all be enjoying the capitalist kookiness of Protostar’s Gala Winterfest Extravaganza once again!
Looking back, it’s been a pretty big year for WildStar. Since January, we’ve released Destination Arcterra, continued our World Story in Vault of the Archon, streamlined our tutorial experience, successfully launched WildStar on Steam, given our players new and exciting character features with Heroes Evolved, released a brand new raid with Redmoon Terror, and then finished it with the recent release of Redmoon Mutiny. We also started our DevConnect series back in March, which has resulted in some great discussions among our passionate community members, and brought a number of big improvements to the game—including the faction barrier changes, additional race/class combinations, and enhancements to make WildStar more alt-friendly. All of these changes and additions have been focused on two things: continuing to provide our players with new and exciting adventures on Nexus, and making WildStar more fun, friendly, and accessible to everyone. We’ve made some great strides this year on both fronts, but we have a lot more in store for the future.
Over the last year, the WildStar team has been asking some important questions about our game and the direction that we want to take it. What is the best way to provide our players with compelling and meaningful character progression? Do our players feel adequately (and appropriately) rewarded for the time they spend in our game? What new experiences should we create, and how can we give continued relevance to all of our existing content? With these questions in mind, the team has been working on a number of exciting features for WildStar, along with some brand new content that will take players to exciting (and dangerous) places, both on and off planet Nexus. We’re looking forward to sharing more with you in the next few weeks—so stay tuned!
As always, I want to give a huge thank you to the WildStar community! As I said before, we’ve had a big year, and it’s because of you that WildStar only continues to get better and better.
Expand your criminal empire with a new frontier of illicit profiteering to explore: dominating the city’s trade in stolen luxury vehicles with GTA Online: Import/Export, the latest enterprising extension of the CEO gameplay introduced with Further Adventures in Finance and Felony.
In Import/Export, CEOs will get their hands dirty alongside their Organization, stealing and dealing in “liberated” luxury vehicles with Vehicle Cargo while Executive Offices get a facelift with the newest Executive Garage housing up to 60 vehicles. And tap into rare, highly unusual, and federally prohibited Special Vehicles that are capable of streamlining your corporate misdeeds in explosive new ways.
SecuroServ’s suite of unlawful offerings has expanded in your Executive Office desktop. Purchase Vehicle Warehouses – below board properties to store, mod and export cargo – then boost vehicles from throughout Los Santos and Blaine County to fill your new property. Members of your Organization will be alerted to procurable targets; whether it’s a simple smash and grab of an unaccompanied Turismo R, a tactful party crash to steal keys and make a getaway, or an elaborate ploy to commandeer a police helicopter and use its on-board camera to source your vehicle – there is a huge new range of theft to profit from.
Utilize all your tools to make these sourcing operations as smooth as possible including CEO Abilities and CEO Vehicles. Buyers won’t want damaged goods and the cleaner the getaway; the cheaper the repair fees. Use the Turreted Limo or Buzzard for armored protection and employ the tactical use of Bribe Authorities to drop unwanted heat and Ghost Organization to temporarily take your operations off the map. Or dream big – the tactful deployment of a Cargobob makes for quick extractions and deliveries.
A range of buyers are always ready to shell out for your newly acquired inventory. Use the Ad-Hawk Autos network from your Vehicle Warehouse to connect with buyers and deliver the goods. Private buyers are straightforward and will accept vehicles at stock spec but if you want to increase your margins, appeal to Showroom and Specialist Dealers who are seeking modded vehicles and are willing to pay extra for them.
Manage your Exports and carefully evaluate risks; while you can deliver up to four cars at once with your Organization, carefully consider the rival Organizations or Motorcycle Clubs on the prowl and make sure your team is equipped to handle the job.
As you source more vehicles, you will unlock Special Vehicle missions; co-op based efforts that will require your Organization to deal with a range of SecuroServ operations and plenty of vehicular mayhem. Completing Special Vehicle missions opens up the ability to purchase these vehicles at a special SecuroServ trade price, and owning specific Special Vehicles also unlocks new VIP Work. These unique modes of transportation range from the armed and the armored, to the amphibious and the airborne, and will all be stored in the lower level of your Vehicle Warehouse.
Beyond the 8 new Special Vehicles, stock your massive new Executive Garage with two new Super class cars; the Pegassi Tempesta and Ocelot Penetrator, plus the Principe Diablous Custom and Annis Elegy Retro Custom, two new upgrade options at Benny’s. Executive Garage owners can also add an optional custom shop to their shiny new digs for in-house customization and Benny’s style vehicle Upgrades, which include a variety of garage customizations including lighting and design options.

As discussed in Dev Jam #1, we’ve been making a series of changes to Robocraft that are designed to allow us to improve the matchmaking so that we can match-make Parties effectively and move towards matchmaking by ELO as most other Arena games do.
We introduced the ‘CPU to Energy’ mechanic in ‘Fast and Formidable’ and were able to improve the matchmaking by ensuring that teams of randoms no longer have to fight whole teams of players in Parties. Now we want to introduce some more changes that we need to make in preparation for ELO matchmaking which will then follow with competitive Seasonal Clan Leagues.
LESS GAME MODES = MORE GAME OPTIONS
Our final aim for game modes is to have 4 options that will provide maximum flexibility and variety whilst ensuring best possible matchmaking. This next update is one step towards this as The Pit and Elimination will be moved into a new game mode called Brawl!. The final game mode options we’re aiming for are as follows:
Unranked Battle Arena - we will improve Battle Arena to make it work with 5 vs. 5 teams (which will improve matchmaking also) and add in some fresh mechanics. Your rank will not be affected in this mode, but you will be match-made by ELO to ensure players of equal skill play against each other.
Ranked Battle Arena - here you will gain and lose rank on a seasonal basis. The Clan League will focus on this game mode. It will be upgraded to fix some of the current issues in Ranked.
BRAWL - This allows us to introduce fun twists on the game at regular intervals with increased rewards for your first victory in this game mode each time it changes.
Custom Games - Allowing you to setup your own servers playing any game mode, with your own game options, inviting who you want to play with.
BRAWL
This week’s update will introduce this new game mode called BRAWL. In BRAWL you will get new mechanics, new maps, and crazy ways to play Robocraft that require you to build custom Robots to win on a regular basis.
Here’s a list of the things you might see in future Brawls:
All game modes appearing in a random rotation with The Pit, Elimination, TDM, BA, and new game mode options too
New maps, possibly even maps made by the community in competitions
Restrictions on which parts are allowed in the mode, to challenge your ability to build Robots that can win under the new rules
Changes to the balance of parts for this mode only: Thrusters with insane power or weapons that have been completely changed
Shake ups to core game mechanics, like no-health-regen, overclocker, towers, scoring, etc.
World physics changes, gravity, atmosphere, friction, ceiling
This provides almost unlimited fun and variety that we can introduce regularly. Starting next year, we’ll be happy to take suggestions from the community for ideas for BRAWL and will implement them as long as they can be done within a reasonable amount of effort.
A new BRAWL Details screen will show the details of each new BRAWL when it’s live in-game. The details of our first ever BRAWL will be revealed in the patch notes coming this week.
