Valve Anti Cheat (VAC) Enabled!

Great news Survivors! Steam have got back to us and worked their magic on their backend to allow us to now enable VAC for ARK: Survival Evolved! As you can see on our storefront page, it’s turned on which means in due time all cheats, including ESP, will result in automatic VAC bans!

Starting from tomorrow, VAC on clients will be required to play on our Official Servers. What this means is that if you prevent VAC from functioning, you’ll not be able to connect any longer. We’ll also be enabling this setting by default for Unofficial Servers, however if they would like to run it without VAC, they will need to include the following commandline when they launch their servers:

-insecure

This is not recommended of course as we encourage all server hosts and admins to make use of the VAC system and enable it for their servers! Wildcard will continue its fight against cheaters with proactive GM administration, alongside the VAC system, so keep on making use of our reports system!

We encourage any and all survivors interested in modding and currently working on their own version of the ARK to submit their mods to the contest! We’ve got loads of prizes up for grabs and are super excited to see your envisions of ARK come to life!

Survival of the Fittest: The Last Stand

Just a reminder Survivors that we’re still running our Survival of the Fittest: The Last Stand open preliminary qualifications! We’ve got a mega-thread on the progression of the tournament, including updates, rules, server-status and patch notes that will be regularly updated when things happen that need to be brought to your attention. This weekend we’ll post the Official Results from the matches thus far, for all to see and gawk at! Don’t worry, if you’re following us on other forms of Social Media you’ll be made aware of the changes too - but this is the best place for it, so definitely keep your eye on it!

So we’ve had some pretty massive patches lately, but it doesn’t stop there! We’ve still got loads more to do and much more to add into the game :)! Patch 217 will add quite a few things to the core-game, as well as include some qualify of life, security and optimization changes!

Trophy System

We’re super stoked to announce that we’ve finally ready to push out our Trophy System which will include the new Survival of the Fittest trophies! So if you’ve won a Survival of the Fittest Championship, you’ll be able to show off your awesome new trophies engraved with your personal handles to the whole ARK universe. And of course, The Last Stand Tournament will have its own massive awesome Trophy set -- the victors’ rewards aren’t only cash prizes! :)




Antler-less female Megaloceros

We’ve heard your requests and we did have these planned! These should hopefully be ready to go out with the 217 patch. The Doe, unlike its male counterpart, will not be able to attack however it will run at a quicker pace! We want to introduce other alterations to the game when it comes to gender diversity with creatures of the ARK. We already have the frill and frill-less Boas and now we’ve got the Megaloceros.



As we progress further into EA, we’ll be sure to have more cool alterations like this!

Primitive Club

The cries for melee weapons have not gone unnoticed! We’ve got the primitive club ready which is the first of a few melee weapons and defenses in the game! These are great for bopping people on the head and taking them out! Really brings that caveman feeling to the game.

New Features
  • You can now fully mod the height and weight of all the players in the game. In the root directory of the game's files, you'll find a folder named Mods.
    This folder contains all of the modable content in the game. To mod the height and/or weight of players, open the Rosters folder and select the corresponding team.
  • Height and weight now affect in-game metrics.

  • Added new skin tone mod options for the game. You'll notice in the Mods folder rosters files for each team that the "b" or "w" skin color option has been replaced with a number.
    The skin tones range from 1 to 6 where 1 is the lightest (white) skin and 6 is the darkest (black) skin.
  • You can now move the pass aim circle before the snap when using a controller. This makes throwing quick passes to the sides of the field much easier.
  • Added six new player stats (Throwing Power, Fitness, Awareness, Agility, Coverage, and Hit Power) for every player in the game.
    These attributes effect the performance of the players in various aspects of the game. The Player Stats Excel and text files for each team have been updated in the Mods folder to reflect the new attributes.
    If you have modified team stats in the past, it is recommended that you copy & paste from your modified excel file into the new excel file to work from there.
  • Team ratings (Pass, Run, Pass Def, Run Def, Special Teams) are now dynamically loaded in from each team's player stats text file instead of being embedded into the game.
    This allows players to modify the number of stars each team has in the team selection screen. The excel file inside of Mods > Player Stats has built-in formulas for calculating the stars for each category.
    If you use the Excel file (highly recommended) to modify individual player attributes, the stars for that team will automatically update.

  • Made all Hot Routes completely modable. There are six total Hot Routes, and you can change or edit any or all of them.
  • The kicker's name will now show before kickoffs, extra points, and field goals.

  • Added a music toggle on/off button to the title screen so you can disable the music. Your preference will be saved in between game play sessions.
  • The clock will now start when the receiver catches the ball on kickoffs rather than when the ball is kicked.
  • Added new idle animations for QB, Linebackers, and Kickers that are used before a play starts. These add a bit more realism since the previous animations were more like stills.
  • You can now shift your defensive line, linebackers, and defensive backs before a play starts. Press X/C or LBump/RBump to shift DL, Press Q/E or LTrigger/RTrigger to shift LBs, and Press R/F or Y+Up/Down to Shift DBs.

Improvements
  • Increased the leg size of the player models to make them more proportionally correct.
  • Slightly adjusted the mesh of the jersey number so that it didn't stick out/poke into the jersey as much during certain animations.
  • Adjusted the camera angles to bring the player closer to the action in several situations.
  • Improved the defensive AI for reacting to and identifying runs.
  • Lowered the volume of the music on the title & season screens.

Bug Fixes
  • Running out of the back of the endzone on a kickoff now properly ends the play.
  • Fixed the range that kickers are able to make FGs to be more in line with reality.
  • Fixed the bug that was causing the pass, rush, and total yards allowed stats to be equal to each other.
  • Fixed a bug with Chicago's roster that was causing the game to crash when that team was used. They were using the old 'b' and 'w' variables for skin colors and didn't get updated to the new 1-6 method for skin colors.
  • The crowd should no longer cheer or boo with the sound turned off.
  • The playoff bracket will no longer cover the season stats.
  • The message that displays when you win the Axis Bowl on difficulties below Hall of Fame will no longer spill out of the containing background.
  • The opposing team will now properly call timeouts in Coach Mode.

We have some major updates in October to announce. For those who may not be aware, Angels of Fasaria 2.0 has been released with many bug fixes and updates to the game. We also have Fasaria World Online coming to steam for Early Access on October 1st so be the first to get an board and start building your colony.

We've made a few updates to Ancients of Fasaria Chess Club. A timer that displays the time the last move was made can now be displayed in the game along with a few other changes. We will be doing a lot more updates to the chess game this month as well.

Rogue Continuum - rockerstat


Hello everybody! Today we’re happy to announce a much-awaited update build E1.09 for Rogue Continuum.

First and foremost: Rampage Rufus. We’ve gotten a lot of feedback that he has a really tough time in the game because he’s melee, while his foes are ranged. Well, that’s all changed now: Rufus now has the ability to nullify enemy bullets with his sword or chainsaw. This really pumps up his survivability in the game, and we feel he’s now much better equipped to handle the many bullets thrown his way. Check out the screenshot GIF above, or better yet, give him a try!

Next up is Destructobot. We felt that not only did Destructobot’s shield make him a little overpowered compared to the other characters, but his slow-charging shield also made him a bit slower, because players had to wait for it to recharge. So, we modified how his shield works, by reducing his shield’s full capacity by half, but also increasing the recharge rate by 50%. We think this makes Destructobot a bit faster-paced than before. We also bumped his base (un-upgraded) starting HP down slightly, from 1100HP to 900HP. Overall he’s a bit more challenging to play now, but also moves through maps quicker than before due to faster shield recharging.

In addition, we noticed that the completely random chance of medkit spawns sometimes seemed a bit frustrating – players would occasionally get a couple of medkit drops even when they were at full health, and when health was low, medkits sometimes seemed to NEVER appear. That’s fixed too – now, the probability of getting a medkit increases with decreasing hero health. You’re pretty much guaranteed not to get a medkit while at full or near-full health (so you get to pick up a powerup instead *fist pump*), and when your health is low, you’ll have a significantly higher chance of getting a medkit.

The full changelog is below. It contains other balancing notes too and many much-requested changes (like better boss-kill drops, for example) so be sure to check it out :)

Hero changes: Rampage Rufus
- Rufus' chainsaw and sword can now nullify enemy bullets
- Rufus' chainsaw has a much faster temperature increase and decrease speed. Also displays "overheated" when the chainsaw is overheated.
- Overheating the chainsaw renders the chainsaw unusable for 1.5 seconds (reduced from previous duration of 3.0s). Note: no change in the sword - the sword is not prone to overheating.
- Rufus base HP reduced from 1000HP to 800HP since his survivability is significantly increased due to being able to nullify enemy bullets
- A speed-line image of a chainsaw now shows on top of Rufus' chainsaw when it's engaged.

Hero changes: Smackdown Sam
- Reduced base reload time for machine gun by 20%

Hero changes: Ownage Olga
- if Olga shoots a critical shot, indicator text will show up on top of Olga.

Hero changes: Destructobot
- Destructobot base HP reduced from 1100HP to 900HP.
- Reduced Destructobot full shield capacity by 50%.
- Increased Destructobot base shield recharge rate by 50%.
- Fixed shield behavior so that if damage taken by Destructobot is more than remaining shield points, damage will first be absorbed by remaining shield points before being deducted from hitpoints.
- Reduced Destructobot's "Missile Barrage" Special Attack's base number of missiles from 9 to 8.
- Increased Destructobot's Missile Pod weapon's base direct damage from 80 to 105; reduced the weapon's splash damage from 20% to 8% of direct damage.

Item balancing
- Chance of getting a medkit increases when heroes are low on health. At full health, no medkits will appear.

Enemy Balancing
- Enemy bosses now have an approximately 50% chance of dropping a powerup when killed (exact percentage depends on which enemy boss)
- Increased enemy boss kill reward money significantly. Now, if the enemy boss does not drop a powerup, it will drop between 18-25 credits when killed.
- Tweaked some boss behaviors (tweaks are not listed here in order to prevent spoilers)
- Reduced hitpoints of Spartilian Carrier Slugs by 40%
- Reduced damage of Arcturan Cloaking Sniper by 20%

Level length
- Reduced level sizes slightly. Map path length reduced by about 15% for most missions. Exact distance to level destination is still varied since maps are procedurally generated.

Bug fixes
- Fixed bug where game incorrectly calculates incremental hitpoints increase when player gets multiple HealthUp powerups

Other updates
- Updated burning visual effect for enemy corpses
