The upcoming 0.29 update will introduce a new way to select your server selection. Instead of linking the player’s account to a specific region (at the moment we’ve got three available: CIS, Europe and North America) we will provide free server selection at any time while in the game. For your convenience, next to each server we will have your current ping rate and the number of players awaiting their match on that server displayed. This way you can choose what you think would be more appropriate for you: the ping rate or speed and quality of match-making.

There are some other region-related elements affected by the upcoming changes:

Each language version of the game will have its own main chat channel;
You can add players to squads, friends or clan regardless of their region;
There could be players speaking other language in your match.
Regardless of the server you opt to play on, the described changes will not impact your current friend list and the clan.

We’ve just launched an update attempting to resolve the black screen issues being reported by various users, along with some smaller crash fixes.


Major issues addressed:
- Additional Fix for launching the game with locale set to Japan
- Fix for launching the game with Oculus HMD connected
- Fix for launching with corrupted/badly edited pcconfig.txt file
- Fix for the black screen issues / Window minimizing issues being encountered


You may need to manually force the update, which means you need to Verify the Game Cache, (tutorials here: https://support.steampowered.com/kb_article.php?ref=2037-QEUH-3335).

The ocean calls to all pirates. With a ship under yer pegleg, kegs full o' rum, and the potential for a hold full of booty, ye look to the horizon for the next grand adventure. We're celebratin' World Oceans Day with an Open Markets Event! Set sail for adventure, pillagin', and a bit o' monkey business!

• Markets are paying up to 25% more for fruit.*
  
• Gem thieves are less active, so large quantities of gems are more likely to make it through a voyage.
  
• Merchant brigands are operating at an increased rate and shipping their goods to distant destinations. Their attraction to trading posts is increased.
  
• Compelled by an abundance of fruit, encounters with the mischievous Monkey Boat are more common.
  
• Brigand and barbarian ships are more attracted to islands with a Black Market and are carrying more booty.

The Open Markets event will be active until June 10th at 3:00 PM PST. The ocean calls, mateys!

*Market owners won't be offering this rate until after the 4AM reboot on June 5. They muttered somethin' about labor limits.
