Bellona and her modestly-sized sword

Smite’s Battle Frost patch has brough with it a new character – Bellona, goddess of war.

Flavour text ahoy!

“Bellona, Goddess of War, took no time to build temples or gather worshippers. She favors only those for whom war is life; for that is where she thrives- not on the steps of hallowed basilicas or in whispered prayers, but in the blood-soaked mud, among the breathless armored troops, in the roar of victory.”> … [visit site to read more]

Apples, bananas and couches

“An adventure game based on Agatha Christie’s The A.B.C. Murders” – it’s like someone deliberately laid a Pip-trap.

Well it worked. I have now watched the trailer exactly THRICE:

Play this! It is, at the very least, an interesting thing. (I like it!)

The Humble Bundle Square Enix Bundle 2 is not a collection of classics, but it is a cheap way to check out some divisive and unpopular games you might be curious about. Sure, I’ve heard bad things about the new Thief but I would like to see for myself. I’m still not sure what Murdered: Soul Suspect was. And man, Kane & Lynch 2 is a game you should be curious about. It’s an interesting bundle, with a few really solid games too. I’ve got the good’uns already, but will probably pick the pay-what-you-want bundle up for its curios.

Death Ray Manta [official site], an outrageously glowy shmup designed to make you happy, the very same Rob Fearon game that received appropriately glowy reviews by the likes of Eurogamer and Edge, has now gone freeware. Along with all of Rob’s frantic and occasionally hilarious games.

Imagine if all your favourite murderers in video games got together and did murders together, like a superhero team or a supergroup. The Avengers with no thought for collateral damage, or The Plastic Ono Band with hammers. Hotline Miami 2: Wrong Number [official site] is more a tribute act of murderers, with schlubs inspired by Jacket’s cool murders in the first game. Hotline Miami’s crossover with Payday 2 is coming closer to that supergroup dream, though, bringing Jacket to the heist FPS.

Oh, and did I mention that Hotline Miami 2 now has a release date? It does: March 10th.

The Absence Of Is [official site] was created for Antholojam – a game jam focused around the theme “Golden Era sci-fi”. It’s a peculiar little thing which prods at the idea of near-death experiences and the afterlife.

Hands up: who wants to be a secret cyberagent on the lam in the garish and cruel future? You’ll note that you can’t raise your hand, as while you were all distracted by that screenshot, I snuck around breaking your arms. And that, MI6, is why you should defs hire me once you get into the cyberagent game. It’s also why I’m quite keen to play Neon Struct [official site].

Minor Key Games, the teensy team team behind Alec-pleasing Lovecraft ‘em up Eldritch, have dropped a new trailer to reveal a May 20th release date. It’s well data, yeah?

Evening all! This edition of Dote Night is about the current content rights argument going on in League of Legends. It revolves around SpectateFaker a Twitch channel set up to stream games featuring the professional player Faker. The channel has been subject to a DMCA takedown order from rival streaming service Azubu and the ensuing argument taps into how streamers can use intellectual property. Here’s a summary of what’s going on and why it’s important. >

ALL BEARD ALL THE TIME

Bard, The Wandering Caretaker will be the latest character to join the League of Legends champion roster.

His lore pegs him as a celestial vagabond, showing up when cosmic equilibrium is under threat and attempting to steer Runeterra (that’s LoL-land) away from catastrophe. I’m now idly wondering whether the lore here is a hint at something important.
