I was just perusing the forums, and noticed quite a few cases where players said the 0.982 "test" build was looking good. It's been available for a little over a week, and seems to have fewer problems than the 0.980 build that was up since launch.
Since it has several important fixes and some new content/features, I decided to make it the official build this morning. For those interested, the changelist can be found here:

As if a new year wasn't enough cause for celebration, we've just released an update that improves the game in several ways. Read and rejoice. In that order.
• Engine: Fixed bug that prevented permanent states from loading • Game: Enabled Steam overlay • Game: Improved performance during game menus • Game: Increased sound ducking during menus • Game: Tweaked UI • Game: Fixed a text line appearing in the wrong place • Chapter 1: Fixed two item behaviours during close-ups • Chapter 2: Fixed scaling issue in Mr Morton's dream • Chapter 3: Added hearing aid cues • Chapter 4: Fixed gramophone code issue

we hope you had a great Christmas and you are now fully recovered to visit the new chapter 4 of Blackguards. And because there are always some people who have to work at New Years Eve we thougt we release the update on Sunday. And because we couldn't wait to share it with you.
