We know what we're getting here in North America on September 18 and how much it will cost us, but what's on the inside? Here's the technical details on Nintendo's most powerful game console yet.
The Wii U GamePad controller removes the traditional barriers between games, players and the TV by creating a second window into the video game world.
It also offers a new way for viewers to engage with their favorite entertainment. The GamePad incorporates a 6.2-inch, 16:9 aspect ratio LCD touch screen, as well as traditional button controls and two analog sticks. Inputs include a +Control Pad, L/R sticks, L/R stick buttons, A/B/X/Y buttons, L/R buttons, ZL/ZR buttons, Power button, HOME button, -/SELECT button, +/START button, and TV CONTROL button.
The GamePad also includes motion control (powered by an accelerometer, gyroscope and geomagnetic sensor), a front-facing camera, a microphone, stereo speakers, rumble features, a sensor bar, an included stylus and support for Near Field Communication (NFC) functionality.
It is powered by a rechargeable lithium-ion battery and weighs approximately 1.1 pounds (500 g).
Trying to describe the experience of playing a Wii U game that takes advantage of the GamePad's accessibility and extra space as well as ZombieU does is a difficult task.
That's why this trailer is here to do it for you instead. You can see how shooting, weapon upgrades, friend notifications, sniping, and rummaging through your inventory look on the second screen. Though it's not quite unlike a few trailers we've seen released, it's another look with a bit more details for you to feast your eyes on.
I just want to say that we don't need two New Super Mario Bros. games in the span of four months. I just want to say they should look more different. I just want to be a grouch, but, actually... this game looks lovely!
Is your heart not melted yet?
Then watch this gameplay demo.
Man, all it takes to win me over again is a Mario with a world map. What can I say?
This is a "launch window" game, so it'll be out between the Wii U launch and the end of March 2013.

While Nintendo wasn't ready to give us a specific launch lineup this morning for the Wii U, they did give us a title montage featuring all the games due to come out between the November 18 launch and the end of March. And who doesn't love a montage?
See any surprises?

Koei's hack and slash series Warriors Orochi is headed to the Wii U when it launches in Japan on December 8 with Musou Orochi 2 Hyper, a Wii U version of the PS3 and Xbox 360 Orochi game.
Musou Orochi 2 was released in the West as Warriors Orochi 3.
A live demo of the newest Call of Duty game showed off how Black Ops II's splitscreen multiplayer will work on the Wii U. Two players can go head-to-head with one playing using the GamePad's screen and controls and another using the controller to participate on a big-screen TV. We'll have more on the Wi U version of Black Ops II soon.
Game designer Tetsuya Takahashi and his team at Monolith Soft are working on a totally new title for the Wii U.
At Monolith, Takahashi designed Xenoblade Chronicles (above) and the Xenosaga games. Before founding that studio, he designed Xenogears while working at Square Enix.
No word on what his current Wii U project is or when it will be released.
Nintendo just revealed that Bayonetta 2 is coming to the Wii U. Osaka-based game studio Platinum Games, who developed the first Bayonetta, is once again bringing the character to life.
Nintendo is publishing this Wii U exclusive. Atsushi Inaba of Okami fame is producing, and Yusuke Hashimoto, who produced the first Bayonetta, will be directing.
The brief trailer doesn't show any game play footage, but does show Bayonetta's new pistol heels, which are now blue, reflecting the character's new color motif. In the first game, her heels were a red hue.
No word on when gamers can expect Bayonetta 2 to shoot up their Wii U consoles.
Nintendo's sci-fi action franchise will be debuting in miniature form on the Wii U, as an attraction of the Nintendo Land game. A demo today showed one player controlling Samus with a Wii Remote and Nunchuk and another steering a spaceship via the Wii U GamePad. Players will need to hold off advancing waves of aliens for as long as hey can. We'll have more on Metroid Blast soon.
