Not only did Endrey break the world speed record for solving a scrambled 5x5 without eyes at the Zune Open 2012 World Cube Association event, he also took home top honors in the 4x4 and 3x3 multi blindfolded event. He's some sort of machine specifically designed to do this sort of thing. His skills might not have many practical applications, but in the luxurious world of Rubik's competition (I mean look at that dingy hotel room!), he is a god.

James Vega can be an easy character to overlook, in Mass Effect 3. He's just another human guy, and the final game in the trilogy is the first time he appears. He hides out down in the Normandy's cargo bay, a little out of the way when Shepard's just making the rounds.
But James Vega, too, is a character with feelings, hopes, and dreams, and one particular artist on Tumblr has been having a bit of fun with a packet of crayons and this space marine's inner life.
In The Adventures of James Vega (rad dude) and More Adventures of James Vega (cool bro), we get an up-close and personal look at day-to-day life as one of Shepard's crew.
So much of Mass Effect is so gut-wrenchingly serious that it's nice to see a sillier take. But no matter how crayon-scribbled the note, Mr. Vega and I clearly agree on one thing: banshees are a definite Do Not Want.
A selection of scenes from both adventures can be found here; scope out the original posts for more.

Here's a surreal, beautiful photograph of an auroral storm over Arctic Henge in northern Iceland, featured today by NASA.
Looks straight out of Skyrim, doesn't it? The Northern Lights sometimes pop up while you're climbing Skyrim's frosty mountains, and that structure looks almost exactly like one of the game's Guardian Stones.
I feel like a dragon is about to pop out of the sky and start burning down Nordic villages.

It's been previously announced that Rockstar Games, Remedy Entertainment and Marvel Comics are teaming up to bring iconic cop to comics. Now, Kotaku can share an exclusive first look at the first issue's cover, drawn by fan-favorite Greg Horn. We're pretty sure that bottle of whisky is not standard-issue equipment for members of the NYPD.
Written by Rockstar's Dan Houser and Remedy's Sam Lake, Max Payne 3: After the Fall debuts this week and we'll have more on the mini-series tomorrow during Kotaku's Panel Discussion programming block.
Welcome to Kotaku's official forum, known affectionately as Talk Amongst Yourselves. This is the place where we gather on a daily basis to discuss all things video game and existential. Want to talk about new games, old games, games that aren't even out yet? Knock yourselves out!
Kicking Guy's done turned into a werewolf in this TAYpic from The_Real_Pan1da7. Specifically, he's transformed into J. Talbain from Capcom's Darkstalkers series and one of the more mature women from the "Isabella" painting gets turned into fellow Darkstalker Hsien-Ko. Spooky good, no?
This marks the last appearance of the cast from John Everett Millais' "Isabella" painting. Everyone wave goodbye! Tomorrow's the start of a new month, which means that we'd love it if you guys could suggest some lovely classical art image to the #TAYpics thread. It's needs to feature multiplayer characters, be public domain art, and be friendly to the 16x9 image format we've got going here. Find something glorious, friends!
Rovio's focused assault on the casual gaming public continues to pay off big time, as Angry Birds Space surpasses 50 million downloads in 35 days, breaking all previous records and making developers of big-budget console titles feel reevaluate their careers.
Microsoft may have derailed the Halo movie, but that won't stop the publisher from bringing Master Chief to glorious live-action this year. Microsoft will launch a web-series called Halo 4: Forward Unto Dawn this fall, Variety reports today.
The live-action series, composed of five 15-minute installments that will air on the networks Machinima and Halo Waypoint, will tell a story about Master Chief inspiring a young UNSC cadet who goes on to become a leader on the UNSC Infinity spacecraft. The cadet and his story will tie into the plot of Halo 4, which will be out for Xbox 360 on November 6.
The goal is to get non-Halo fans into the first-person shooter series, developer 343 Industries' Matt McCloskey told Variety. "We wanted to do something unique from a narrative standpoint that's big in scale," he said. "We wanted to... transform this live-action exploration from advertising into a full standalone product that people will enjoy."
In other words, it had better be good. We'll hear more about Halo 4: Forward Unto Dawn at Comic Con this summer.
