Counter-Strike: Source Beta Update Released
Product Update - Valve
Updates to Counter-Strike: Source Beta have been released. The updates will be applied automatically when your Steam client is restarted. The major changes include:

Source engine changes
  • Added support for raw mouse input. Raw input reads directly from the mouse, bypassing Windows control panel mouse settings. This addresses issues with high DPI mice, and provides for a more reliable controller experience at various resolutions.
  • Improved custom mouse acceleration.
  • Updated mouse configuration UI to support raw input and acceleration; added tooltips to some of the options.
  • Fixed UI tooltips so that they display correctly on first hover

Counter-Strike: Source Beta
  • Updated the multiplayer options UI so that it offers more options for configuring the crosshair.
  • Added option for center dot to crosshair.
  • When dynamic crosshair is disabled, the crosshair is now completely static.
  • Fixed mipmaps for default avatars and made CT and T look more unique
  • Fixed positioning of hud_targetid; it now is correctly visible in wide screen aspect ratios and when spectating
  • Major Test Feature. Added a debug flag for showing the current weapon accuracy spread. This flag (weapon_debug_spread_show) is on by default

  • Fix: Sitting down while looking down a weapon's ironsights leaves player control locked
  • Fix: If a companion is knocked unconscious with broken limbs they stay broken on respawn
  • Fix for varmint night scope effect persisting in kill cam
  • Fix for giving companions armor that adds STR does not increase their carry weight
  • Fix NPC Repair menu displays DAM as DPS
  • Having NPC repair service rifle with forged receiver decreases CND

  • (PC/Mac) Fixed many translation errors
  • (PC/Mac) Rewrote Steam integration; less time spent waiting but also more secure.
  • (PC/Mac) Improved character trail effect.
  • (PC/Mac) Heavily optimized surround sound filter.
  • (PC/Mac) Improved configuration handling; no longer cycle front end for every configuration change.
  • (PC/Mac) Sanity check antialias option; could cause visual artifacts on some graphics cards with incorrect MSAA option.
  • (PC/Mac) Stability improved on ragdoll pose controller; ie. flowers aren't as jumpy as before.
  • (PC/Mac) Improved blur/downsample pass in postprocessing; less moving artifacts during postprocessing.
  • (PC/Mac) Improved thread usage when loading levels.
  • (PC) Fixed bug in DI8 input device classification; no longer accept wheel as a valid gamepad.
  • (Mac) Implemented a shader based blitter in the OpenGL renderer for older generation graphics cards which doesn't support the EXT_framebuffer_blit extension.
  • (Mac) Fixed thread crash issue with some older OpenGL drivers.
  • (PC/Mac) Lots of memory and performance optimizations.
