RE: Fat Lip From Fat Head

Fat lip? Man, I tumbled down the stairs this morning while taking out the trash, skinning my knee BAD. I saw blood! Some guy asked me if I was okay, and I said, "I'm fine." (Do not worry, it is now covered by Ultra-man band-aids!)

And right now, right here.

It. Is. So. Effing. Hot. Summer, I do not like thee.

Which Version Of Deus Ex: Human Revolution Should You Buy? Sci-fi game Deus Ex: Human Revolution will be released on the Xbox 360, the PS3 and the PC. There choices, so choose wisely, right? Nope! Relax.

Human Revolution producer David Anfossi told website VG247, "For Deus Ex, we decided to work on all platforms in parallel to give players the same experience." Anfossi told the site that he has worked on games with lead platforms. "When we were close to the release date, we had to do a port," he said. "And believe me, you don't want to do that."

No, no I do not.

Deus Ex: Human Revolution will be out in early 2011.

Football takes Cristiano Ronaldo many places. Hot places. Cold places. Even this trailer for Pro Evolution Soccer 2011.

As a former Pro Evo fanatic, I so want to believe this is the year Konami gets its act together and begins to compete with FIFA again. And while this trailer gives me some hope, those wooden animations - a hallmark of the series' days on the PS2 - still give me cause for concern.

PS - this trailer is an amazing six minutes long, so if you need to go to the toilet or get a cup of tea, do it now.

Mel Gibson Is A Lethal WeaponOh Mel Gibson. If only the original Lethal Weapon game had been released now, it'd be a lot more interesting.

Nintendo think that Metroid: Other M, being developed by Team Ninja, is the most cinematic Metroid game ever developed. We can't argue otherwise on the strength of trailers like this.

It's a short cinematic sequence from the opening of the game, showing the "birth of Samus". Long-time fans may baulk at the extra flesh Team Ninja is adding to the normally sparse Metroid universe, but I'm intrigued. Team Ninja is a new developer to the series, and if they want to try something different, more power to them.

UPDATE - And here's some gameplay!

Another Chanbara Movie Ditches Cowboy Hat (And Clothes) Those hack-and-slash Onechanbara video games have been made into motion pictures that, like the games, mix violence and titillation. A spin-off Chanbara movie goes straight to the titillation.

Out on home video this month in the West, Chanbara Striptease is what you'd expect from a movie called Chanbara Striptease. Though, the original Japanese title "Oppai Chanbara" seems to be slightly more accurate. ("Oppai" means "breasts" in Japanese.) From the BeyondHollywood.com review:

There are a couple of moments of inspired madness, the most memorable of which involves characters using their breasts to wield swords during a duel, and this helps to keep things moving along quite nicely.

Created by the folks that made the Onechanbara films, the flick follows 20-year-old Lilli as she is transported back to 18th Century Japan where she learns she can increase her fighting abilities by flashing her norgs.

Another Chanbara Movie Ditches Cowboy Hat (And Clothes) Chanbara Striptease seems tame in the gore department compared to what is available on Japanese straight-to-video cinema — or even compared to the Onechanbara games! The film actually pre-dates the second Onechanbara film, which was released abroad as "Chanbara Beauty" and stars curvy Yuu Tejima. The first Onechanbara film was released in spring 2008. This one was made in 2008 and then released in Japan in February 2009. And as previously mentioned, it is getting released this month in the West.

Another Chanbara Movie Ditches Cowboy Hat (And Clothes) Starring a horde of former and current Japanese porn actresses, Chanbara Striptease isn't directly connected to the Onechanbara games from developer Tamasoft. It's as if the producers of Chanbara Beauty flicks just made a chanbara (swordplay) flick with magical breasts and are trying to pass this off as an Onechanbara film. Not that anyone who watches this really cares!

This might be akin to what happens in the West with movies like White Men Can't Jump spawning something like White Men Can't Hump. However, Chanbara Striptease is not a hardcore adult video! The producers of the movie have cleverly even used the font from the original Onechanbara film.

Another Chanbara Movie Ditches Cowboy Hat (And Clothes) The first Onechanbara game was released in 2004 on the PS2 as part of D3 Publisher's "Simple 2000" series. The most recent entry in the series is 2009 Wii game Onechanbara Revolution.
