The first features to be tested include Surround Sound support for Vista and Universal Plug'n'Play Support for Hosting Servers, as well as a new map white-listing system that will allow us to update the white list far quicker than before. This beta also includes exploits fixes on all the stock maps.

The Beta Program is now available to all. To take part, individual players can chose to opt in to the Beta by changing the Beta Participation option in your Steam Settings. Server admins can opt-in to the Beta by running the hldsupdatetool with the following command line addition: -beta Kfwebwhitelist. Please remember that this IS a Beta program and that you will only be able to play with players/on servers that have opted in to the Beta. You can always opt back out of the Beta at any time and restore the original version of KF.

September 23, 2009 - Valve, creators of best-selling game franchises (such as Half-Life, Portal, Team Fortress, and Counter-Strike) and leading technologies (such as Steam and Source), today announced that Crash Course -- the second downloadable content (DLC) update for its co-operative zombie thriller, Left 4 Dead (L4D) -- will be made available worldwide on September 29 on XBOX 360 and PC.

Crash Course delivers new single-player, multiplayer and co-operative gameplay to both platforms, and bridges the gap between the end of the "No Mercy" campaign and the beginning of "Death Toll" in the original game.
