MEGA HIVE
The Mega Hive is a single-player chain of eight missions that tests your team’s might. Each week, you’ll have a shot at completing the Mega Hive mission chain. When you defeat all eight missions, the Mega Hive mission chain is removed from the War Table until the next weekly refresh, when you can run it again with new modifiers.
This week’s modifiers include:
Famine: Enemies do not drop Regen Packs when defeated.
Clash: Melee damage from any source is greatly increased.
Heavyweight: Enemy stun meters build at an increased rate.
Bane: Significantly increased presence of Adaptoids.
Weekly Rewards: As you progress through the Mega Hive, rewards start as basic gear, resources, and small amounts of cosmetic currency. The more missions you survive, the resource drops increase. As you near the final mission, you’ll see better gear and artifacts awarded more often, and increased chances for patterns/nameplates. When you complete all eight Mega Hive missions, you’ll be rewarded with exclusive goodies reserved for this gauntlet, including a significant amount of high-quality resources. Modifiers are game changers! Check out some pro-tips from our team that will help you prepare for this week’s challenges!
Blizzard: Equip any gear that provides Cryo resistance and pay careful attention to Cryo hazards in the environment whenever Blizzard is the modifier in play. Cryo enemies are also especially lethal so make sure to prioritize taking them out first to ensure you won’t be frozen mid fight.
Clash: When Clash is active, make sure to play a Hero who has strong melee abilities and equip gear high in the Might attribute. Don’t forget, enemies also inflict greater melee damage so watch out for combatants who try to get in close!
Fireball: Equip any gear that provides additional Plasma damage or increases the rate at which the Plasma status meter builds to really heat things up when Fireball is active.
Famine: Focusing on Takedowns and careful usage of the regenerative nanite containers are key to survivability when Famine is active.

Marvel's Avengers - The Definitive Edition - CrystalRinny
Happy November, True Believers! As you know, a big part of our mission is delivering new content—and we are so excited to kick that off with Kate Bishop, who also carries the Hawkeye mantle, as our first new Super Hero coming to Marvel’s Avengers!
Kate Bishop is a world-class archer, adept swordswoman, and master of sarcasm and snark. As Clint Barton’s protégé who, like him, possesses no superhuman powers, she boasts an impressive skillset that has her able to stand toe-to-toe with the Avengers in protecting the world. You’ll meet Kate as she’s searching for her former mentor, Clint Barton, in her own story operation, Marvel’s Avengers: Kate Bishop - Taking AIM. She takes up the mantle of Hawkeye and joins the Avengers to get to the bottom of the mystery and save a world that doesn’t even know it’s in peril. After Kate’s story comes Clint’s story, both of which are intertwined with each other and each pieces of a larger puzzle. You’ll be able to play Clint Barton in early 2021!
When we were designing Kate’s kit, it was important to us that we balance the similarities between her and Clint with her unique stylistic differences. She learned much of what she knows from him, so we wanted that to be reflected in her abilities, but it was just as important for her to have her own Heroics, Intrinsics, and Takedowns that set her apart as a fighter.
Playing as Kate means performing a battlefield dance where you’re switching between arrow types, fighting distances, and locations on the battlefield. She has three arrow types, plus more if you upgrade them, that you can switch between at will. She’s also deadly proficient with a sword to deal with enemies who get too close. Her intrinsic attacks teleport her around enemies and deal increased sword damage.
Decoy is Kate's Support Heroic: it spawns a hologram replica of her that shoots arrows of quantum energy at targets to distract them. Her Assault Heroic, Warp Arrow, allows her to teleport over long distances while triggering a large quantum explosion that lifts enemies into the air on her arrival. Quantum Overdrive is her Ultimate Heroic, which provides unlimited intrinsic energy, empowering her bow so she can fire quantum energy arrows with explosive results. We can’t wait to see how everyone customizes Kate’s kit!
Kate comes to Marvel’s Avengers on December 8. We’re looking forward to seeing your digital photography, gameplay videos, reactions, builds, and feedback on her! As always, thank you for your encouragement and your suggestions—we couldn’t do it without you.

Resurgence
Torpedo
Heavyweight
Turmoil
Resurgence: Quickly eliminating a single foe as opposed to bouncing around between multiple enemies or trying to control groups with area of effect damage will help make surviving Resurgence easier.
Torpedo: It’s best to select heroes with strong Ranged Attacks or to equip gear high in the Precision attribute to best take advantage of Torpedo. Don’t forget, enemy Ranged Attacks also do more damage so be sure to Dodge and Evade incoming projectiles!
Maelstrom: Keeping Willpower high and utilizing Heroics soon after they’re ready is key to maximizing the benefits of the Maelstrom modifier. Focusing on gear that boosts the Resolve or Valor stats is also an effective strategy.
Collider: Equip any gear that provides additional Particle damage or increases the rate at which the Particle status meter builds to really heat things up when Collider is active.
There are several new items in the marketplace this week featuring Black Widow and Iron Man wares, including Widow’s Legendary “Infiltrator” outfit and Iron Man’s Epic “Air Guitar” Emote.

Double, double, toil and trouble, Widow’s Bite and giant green muscle. We hope you had a safe and spooky Halloween weekend! Did you dress up in fun and frightful costume? Watch scary movies? Consume more candy than is reasonable or even enjoyable in a single sitting, and then acquire more at a discount post-holiday to continue your hallowed feast? (Which totally isn’t what we did).
Speaking of discounted goodies: The Marketplace sale is still ongoing! Emotes, takedowns, and nameplates are 50% off. For this week’s Marketplace rotation, see the Marketplace Updates section below. As always, check out the modifiers for this week’s Priority Missions, HARM Challenges, and Mega Hives down below.
Also, last Friday we had our second Marvel’s Avengers Dev stream with Andy Wong and Phil Therein –keep scrolling to go checkout the broadcast.
And finally, before we get into it, we just want to acknowledge the feedback we’ve been receiving on our social channels regarding what you all want to see: new content, as well as some content suggestions and QOL improvements.
We’ve seen all your comments asking for the next Hero, Kate Bishop, new missions to play, new villains to fight, and new places to explore. We’re excited to tell you all about it—when the time is right! We appreciate your patience and understanding!
We’ve also taken note of the most highly requested changes and are continuing to make progress against them every day. For example, our Reassemble Campaign replay feature is currently in testing, and we're working on a fix for item stats being blocked by viewing gear pieces!
If you have more suggestions, please submit them in our feedback channels on our Discord server!
Priority HARM Room Challenges have additional modifiers and reward comics that increase your collection and boost your stats.

MEGA HIVE
The Mega Hive is a single-player chain of eight missions that tests your team’s might. Each week, you’ll have a shot at completing the Mega Hive mission chain. When you complete all eight Mega Hive missions, you’ll be rewarded with exclusive goodies reserved for this gauntlet, including a significant amount of high-quality resources.. Capacitor: Thor’s already impressive pedigree is exacerbated when Capacitor turns up the lethality of his lightning-infused attacks. Make use of his intrinsic Odinforce ability to lay waste to foes in a manner worthy of his heritage. If Thor isn’t your Hero of choice, make sure to equip gear with Shock perks or use other Heroes—like Black Widow—who also have Shock-inducing attacks in their arsenal.
Resurgence: Quickly eliminating a single foe as opposed to bouncing around between multiple enemies or trying to control groups with area of effect damage will help make surviving Resurgence easier.
Pressure: Recovering Willpower by any means necessary is key when Pressure is active. Utilize Takedowns, regenerative nanite containers, and skills that boost the chance of enemies dropping Regen Packs to ensure that sustaining critical injuries isn’t always a recipe for a quick defeat.
Famine: Focusing on Takedowns and careful usage of the regenerative nanite containers are key to survivability when Famine is active.
If you haven’t already taken advantage of the Marketplace sale, now’s your chance! Emotes, takedowns, and nameplates are 50% off for a limited time.
Due to an issue that was discovered, Thor's Unworthy Outfit has been temporarily removed.

FUTURE FAN FEEDBACK-DRIVEN FEATURES
We can’t say this enough – thank you for your feedback. We’ve already started implementing feedback-driven features in the game. Examples in yesterday's Patch V1.3.3 include an increase to the radius of which rewards are automatically drawn to the player and the ability to preview cosmetics from vendors prior to purchase. Paired with the release of Marvel’s Avengers: SHIELD Substation Zero, we’ve also added terminals in outposts to make accepting faction missions & assignments much quicker.
We’re actively working on new community-driven features for the coming months, including but not limited to:
Avengers Initiative Ping System: A system that will allow players to mark objectives, resources, health crates, and enemies, allowing players to command AI companions to hack/smash doors or prioritize specific enemies.
Reassemble Campaign Replay: An option to reset the Reassemble campaign and replay it with your Super Hero’s level and gear intact.
High Contrast Mode: An accessibility feature that will allow the player to apply solid darken veils behind text to improve readability.
Hero Icon Visibility: An option to adjust the display of identifying icons above a Super Hero's head to be on by default or dynamic.
Mission Reward Clarity: Improved clarity around mission-specific rewards when viewed on the WAR TABLE. This will allow players to more strategically take on missions to meet their current goals and seek out specific gear and resources.
Offscreen & Ranged Enemy Attack Indicators: Better feedback for players to avoid offscreen and ranged enemy attacks.
AREAS OF IMPACT
Right now, we are focusing on improving four key areas of the game and we would like to share some progress updates with you.
Performance & Stability
In the past several weeks we’ve uncovered and corrected several systemic issues that were creating a number of game crashes or freezes. Through our metrics tracking we’ve seen a significant decrease in these crashes week-over-week.
However, on some PCs we are continuing to see a higher number of crashes than we'd like, especially those that are the result of GPU hangs and GPU driver crashes. We have a dedicated team tracking these as highest priority fixes across all platforms; including bringing in external partners to help isolate any remaining issues to maximize our stability.
We are actively working with NVIDIA on specific issues that some users have reported with performance degrading over time. With the latest Patch V1.3.3, we've added NVIDIA DLSS, which significantly improves framerate while maintaining high quality visuals for NVIDIA RTX hardware. We've also added DLSS support for ultra performance mode and Dynamic Resolution scaling. More information about NVIDIA DLSS can be found here.
Multiplayer/Matchmaking
We’ve made some meaningful improvements to the multiplayer and matchmaking systems since launch, including expanding power-level matching speed so a broader range of diverse players can connect faster.
Moving forward, our philosophy for multiplayer improvements is to rework the way we group players. The goal is to draw from a larger pool of online players and provide faster ways to jump into desired content. This will help with quicker matchmaking so you can get to the fun faster. We are also exploring ways to better make use of the quick match feature with greater rewards for joining in to help others out. Stay tuned!
Rewards
We know how important meaningful rewards are to our fans. Our philosophy is that rewards should always feel worth the time you’ve invested to earn them. The upcoming AIM Cloning Lab will guarantee an exotic drop for the first completion per week, and a notable chance of exotic drops for subsequent runs. You should also feel that exotic drops are more unique to late-game play; Tachyon and future AIM Cloning Labs missions draw from special reward pools. When you do get exotics from these late-game activities, they will also feel more significant with reworked attributes and perks.
Reward tuning will be an ongoing pursuit to ensure we hit the sweet spot with players, and we commit to transparency through patch notes when changes are made.
Late-Game Content
Launch was only the beginning for Marvel’s Avengers. We have both refinements to existing content and sweeping additions coming that will introduce new mission types, characters, regions, and even higher global stakes.
Mega Hive: To support our late game players, we recently dropped the Mega Hive. Mega Hives are a weekly mission type for fans who prefer to fly solo, testing their top-tier roster in a gauntlet of descending floors with increasingly difficult enemies. We’ve heard loud and clear that players want a multiplayer option for the Mega Hive, and that is something we are working towards in the coming months.
Tachyon Missions & SHIELD Substation Zero: A new outpost, SHIELD Substation Zero, dropped this week in the Pacific Northwest. SHIELD is investigating new temporal anomalies that have begun forming across the world and need the Avengers' help. Visit this space to meet new characters and activate new rituals.
You’ll investigate the Tachyon anomalies by taking on the new Tachyon Rift missions. These rifts make gameplay much more challenging by introducing Tachyon Storms, which require greater collaboration between players (two minimum) to succeed. The storm will damage players over time, but charges Heroic energy at an increased rate. It also introduces Cosmic Gear. This is another late-game offering, as Tachyon Rift Missions require 140 Power Level or higher Super Heroes to play. These missions are available once per day and rotate out daily.
Omega-Level Threats: In the next few weeks we will introduce a new mission classification to Marvel’s Avengers – Omega-Level Threats. Missions under the Omega-Level Threat umbrella are multiplayer-focused challenges that are tuned for high-end players and offer special late-game rewards. Skill and coordination with your team will be key to overcoming these missions, including the Avengers-worthy fight at the finale.
Omega-Level Threats are a first step towards even more exciting and challenging late-game content. Many in our community have asked if Omega-Level Threat missions are Marvel's Avengers’ equivalent to raids. Though focused on multiplayer and designed to be extremely challenging, Omega-Level Threats represent our first step in escalating the challenge your Super Heroes face. As the Avengers Initiative narrative continues to unfold, the stakes will get higher and the challenges harder.
The first Omega-Level Threat is the AIM Cloning Lab, which requires advanced tactics and the full cooperation of a seasoned four-player team to beat the high power level challenge. The lab culminates in a massive fight that is influenced by how you performed in the penultimate objective. How? We’re not going to spoil the surprise for you! The AIM Cloning Lab must be completed between 10:00 AM PDT Friday and 10:00 AM PDT Monday. While it can be replayed, like other late-game content it has better rewards for the first completion.
FUTURE MARVEL'S AVENGERS CONTENT
Moving forward, we intend to have a fixed, predictable patching cycle to ensure all new content meets both our and your high standards and has time for extensive internal testing. We know fans are hungry for new content, but delivering a fun experience is our priority. With this in mind, we’ve decided to push Kate Bishop’s Operation launch back a bit, out of October. We’re sorry for this slight delay, but we are dedicated as a team to quality first.
Kate’s new Operation will be a must-play for fans wanting to know what’s next in the story! In Marvel’s Avengers: Kate Bishop — Taking AIM, Tachyon Rifts become a harbinger of a new threat. As players investigate the source of them, they will pick up on a story that begins shortly after the conclusion of the Reassemble campaign. Then comes Clint (we’ll have more information on him later) and looking into 2021, our biggest Avengers Initiative addition yet will introduce a new Hero, region, and narrative arc.
As mega-Marvel fans ourselves, we can’t wait to reveal more about the iconic Super Heroes, Super Villains, and settings on the roster these coming months, starting with our next Marvel’s Avengers WAR TABLE in November.
We are so excited to share the future of Marvel’s Avengers with you.
MORE THAN A GAME
I’d like to end this State of the Game update with a heartfelt note to you - our fans.
Reflecting on this past year and the isolating global climate that has come with it – Super Hero stories feel more important than ever. On an individual level, Super Heroes inspire us to dig deep and get back up after being knocked down. From a societal perspective, they illustrate how our differences enrich communities big and small.
In our nearly 30-year history, Crystal Dynamics has never shipped a game under conditions like these; from working at home to avoid a pandemic, to some of us evacuating said homes to stay safe from wildfires. While the challenges 2020 has surfaced are many, it’s also instilled a strength in us; to reassemble a team divided by geography and life circumstances, and come back stronger, united by a mission to do right by you.
This is, in part, why we have taken our responsibility developing Marvel’s Avengers so seriously. It’s our opportunity to pass on that core heroes’ spirit of heart and hope, connect you with friends near and far, and inspire you to plant your feet against a sea of adversity and say, "No, you move".
Marvel’s Avengers is far more than a game to us, and you are far more than its players. You are our Super Heroes. We may be apart, but we are all in this together.

When you complete all eight Mega Hive missions you’ll be rewarded with exclusive goodies reserved for this gauntlet, including a significant amount of rare resources.
Modifiers are game changers! Check out some pro-tips from our team that will help you prepare for this week’s challenges!
Resurgence: Quickly eliminating a single foe as opposed to bouncing around between multiple enemies or trying to control groups with area of effect damage will help make surviving Resurgence easier.
Capacitor: Thor’s already impressive pedigree is improved when Capacitor turns up the lethality of his lightning-infused attacks.
Famine: Focusing on Takedowns and careful usage of the regenerative nanite containers are key to survivability when Famine is active.
Maelstrom: Keeping Willpower high and utilizing Heroics soon after they’re ready is key to maximizing the benefits of the Maelstrom modifier. Focusing on gear that boosts the Resolve or Valor stats are also effective strategies.
Helix: When Helix is active Hulk becomes a force to be reckoned with. Leverage his intrinsic Rage ability and any of his gamma-infused attacks to dominate the battlefield. Don’t like playing Hulk? Make sure to equip gear that inflicts Gamma damage and has high Intensity to help trigger the Gamma status effect.
Torpedo: It’s best to select heroes with strong Ranged Attacks or to equip gear high in the Precision attribute to best take advantage of Torpedo. Don’t forget, enemy Ranged Attacks also do more damage so be sure to Dodge and Evade incoming projectiles!
Clash: When Clash is active make sure to player a Hero who has strong melee abilities and equip gear high in the Might attribute. Don’t forget, enemies also inflict greater melee damage so watch out for combatants who try to get in close!
Heavyweight: Stunning enemies is a very effective combat tactic and when Heavyweight is active, things just gets easier. Equip gear with a high Intensity attribute score to magnify the impact of this modifier.
Bane: Adaptoids are one of the more challenging enemies in the game and Bane just makes them more prevalent. To defeat these powerhouse opponents, don’t let them restore their health. If you see them put up their shield to regenerate, get in close and use a Power Attack to stop them from healing.
Black Widow’s Epic Takedown What A Pushover”, Captain America’s legendary emote “Shield Play”, Thor’s Epic Outfit “Son of Asgard” and more!
