Marvel's Avengers - The Definitive Edition - CrystalRinny
Trading cards are on the way and will be here soon. Rest assured, they are retroactive and will be completed based on your progress so you won’t miss out!
Marvel's Avengers - The Definitive Edition - CrystalRinny
For our special launch edition of the Marvel’s Avengers War Table, our Crystal Dynamics team wanted to go BIG, so we revealed new details on the weekly gameplay ritual, new game modes, and a new Hero! Read on for a recap.

We’ve compiled a list of ten things revealed during the Marvel’s Avengers WAR TABLE.

  • Daily and Weekly Missions: Marvel’s Avengers has daily and weekly content resets, and the WAR TABLE is also dynamic. Some missions and rewards cycle in and out during your play session, some rotate daily, while others will only appear over the weekend.
  • Faction Assignments: There are 2 Factions, each with 8 Assignments and 1 Villain Sector per day, which adds up to almost 20 small objectives. Make sure to go grab all your Faction dailies when you login, because they can be completed as you play through other missions.
  • Vendors: In-game vendors are also important to regularly check in on. Each has an inventory that rotates once per hour, so there’s always something unique to shop for. Cosmetic vendors are similar. They have a stock of outfits, emotes, and nameplates that rotate once per day. You can unlock these cosmetic with units you earn by opening strongboxes, which are found throughout missions.
  • Villain Sectors: Villain Sectors are special missions that provide epic showdowns in boss fights that you’ll want to keep coming back to, especially the closer your Heroes get to the game’s launch power level cap of 150.
  • SHIELD Vaults: It turns out that before Nick Fury went missing he set-up hidden SHIELD Vaults around the world. Players can unlock these to claim resources, gear, and secrets. However, coordinates for SHIELD Vaults must be located within other missions first. SHIELD Vaults are critical to ensuring you are ready for the challenges in late-game play.
  • SHIELD Substation Zero: SHIELD Substation Zero is a new Resistance Outpost led by Commander Maria Hill, who is voiced by industry veteran Jennifer Hale. Available shortly after launch, the Substation opens as a social space after temporal anomalies begin forming across the world. You’ll have to help Maria Hill investigate the source of these disturbances, known as Tachyon Rifts.
  • AIM’s Secret Lab: AIM’s Secret Lab will drop shortly after launch and be a true test of late-game co-op teamplay. Only available once a week, the Lab must be completed within a set time window and concludes in a huge boss fight that will take some strategic thinking from your 4-player team.
  • Mega Hives: If you’re looking for a meaty solo challenge, the Mega Hive also arrives shortly after launch. This weekly mission type will test your full roster as you fight your way through descending floors with increasingly difficult enemies. When one hero goes down, another will join. After your full roster is defeated, you’ll need to start over from the beginning.
  • Kate Bishop: Kate Bishop is officially the first Avenger to join our roster after launch, voiced by fan-favorite Ashly Burch. What do you get in the Operation Marvel’s Avengers: Kate Bishop — Taking AIM? The story will directly advance from the conclusion of the Reassemble campaign, and includes a new villain for Kate to face off against.
  • "A Double Feature": Clint, the original Hawkeye - voiced by TV veteran Giacomo Gianniotti - will come with his own Hero Operation, Marvel’s Avengers: Hawkeye — Future Imperfect. Considering the strong friendship and connection between Kate and Clint, we think of their Operations as a “double feature.”

Before we wrap up, we want to send a huge thank-you to our fans. August was a big month for us. Millions of you joined the Beta and were among the first to play our original Avengers story and assemble online with friends. You are influencing the future of Marvel’s Avengers. We've been working hard to address your feedback, and will continue to do so. We hope you can see, feel, and play it on launch day!

Marvel’s Avengers has great daily and weekly gameplay loops and understanding these is an effective way to maximize your time playing.

Events
Some of these gameplay loops have a more immediate and ongoing impact on how you’ll play, like Events. Events are one way we’re keeping the Avengers Initiative fresh and new. Some Events will take place over a week, and others will be seasonal. Some will have cosmetics and gear that are only available to earn for a limited time.

Missions: the WAR TABLE is dynamic and will feature unique content throughout the week.

  • Modified Missions: Each week we will designate Priority Missions and Priority HARM Challenges that offer up unique rewards for completing them with an assortment of modifiers.
  • New Mission Modes: Two new mission types will debut shortly after launch – one that focuses on co-op play and will only appear over the weekend, and another that uses your full roster of heroes in a challenging gauntlet of solo play.

Assignments: Marvel’s Avengers features various Factions, each with their own in-game Vendors. SHIELD & Inhuman Vendors will give you daily and weekly assignments that help increase your Faction level. The higher your faction level, the more Gear and Artifacts that Faction Vendor will give you access to. Faction items rotate daily and weekly. Make sure to go grab all your Faction dailies when you login, because they can be completed as you play through other missions.

Hero Challenge Cards: Daily and weekly challenges help you earn points to progress and unlock content on your Hero Challenge Cards. As with Faction assignments, Hero Card challenges can be completed as you play through other missions.

Community Challenges: These weekly challenges ask the global player base to team up to achieve a specific goal – such as destroying 500,000 Synthoids. When completed, the entire player base receives a unique reward (such as nameplates) reserved for these weekly challenges.

Vendor & Marketplace Rotation
  • Vendor Rotation: In-game Gear Vendors have an inventory that rotates once per hour, so there is always something unique to shop for. Cosmetic Vendors have a stock of outfits, emotes, and nameplates that rotate once per day – although Legendary Outfits stick around for the full week.
  • Marketplace Rotation: The Marketplace also refreshes weekly.

New Content
In addition to weekly gameplay loops, new content will ensure play stays fresh. If you haven't already, check out the latest Marvel’s Avengers WAR TABLE to learn more about:

  • Outposts: Outposts are explorable places with friendly faces and unique vendors.
  • Operations: We’ve previously talked a lot about missions but have been intentionally secretive about Operations. Tune into the launch edition of Marvel’s Avengers WAR TABLE to get the scoop on Operations, and the new hero that will debut with our first Operation drop!

Keep tuning in for more information!

Hi everyone,

Unfortunately some Deluxe Edition codes sent out by the Square Enix store failed to unlock at 9am PDT today. Marvel's Avengers - The Definitive Edition - SEE Tobyc
Marvel’s Avengers is an epic, third-person, action-adventure game that combines an original, cinematic story with single-player and co-operative gameplay*. Assemble into a team of up to four players online, master extraordinary abilities, customize a growing roster of Heroes, and defend the Earth from escalating threats.

Marvel’s Avengers begins at A-Day, where the Avengers are unveiling a hi-tech new Headquarters in San Francisco. The celebration turns deadly when a catastrophic accident results in massive devastation. Blamed for the tragedy, the Avengers disband. Five years later, with all Super Heroes outlawed and the world in peril, a sprawling adventure ignites when a determined young woman named Kamala Khan sets out to reassemble the Avengers to stop the secretive new force known as AIM.

*One-time online access required for single-player campaign; online access required for multiplayer and to download post-launch content. Free Square Enix Members account required.
Marvel's Avengers - The Definitive Edition - CrystalRinny
From our very first presentation of Marvel’s Avengers at E3 2019, we’ve made clear that reassembling the Avengers is just the start of our story; we also committed that future playable updates – such as new characters, story content, missions, and regions – will be available at no additional cost to players.

To put this content into context, Hawkeye will have his own unique in-depth story mission chain which can be played either co-op or solo. He’ll also bring a new villain with him, and like the core six heroes, he (and all future characters) will have custom move sets and combos, Skills, Gear, Heroics, and an assortment of free unlockable Outfits, Emotes, and Nameplates. By releasing all this new content for free, we prevent content gating and guarantee that you and your friends can experience these exciting additions together – taking on emerging threats as a team of Earth’s Mightiest Heroes.

We’ve also committed that content purchasable with real money in Marvel’s Avengers will be aesthetic-only additions, which will ensure we can keep the game fresh for years to come. The fight against AIM is only just beginning, there is much more story and many more heroes on the horizon.

Our in-game economy is built on a player-first approach where you can earn outfits, emotes, nameplates, and amazing gear through play, as well as tailor your style with store cosmetics purchased using Credits obtained by exchanging real-world currency. In the spirit of transparency with our community, here is a breakdown of how it all works!

What are Cosmetics?

Cosmetic items come in four different varieties:

  • Outfits: Outfits are aesthetic only – they do not influence gameplay. This was an intentional decision to avoid pay-to-win play scenarios.
  • Emotes: Character-specific Emotes bring out the personality of each Super Hero, and let you express yourself to your teammates – AI or otherwise!
  • Takedowns: Takedowns are flashy finishers that show off each hero’s signature style on the battlefield!
  • Nameplates: Nameplates show off your hero’s stats and are drawn from iconic art in Marvel history.
  • There are several ways to earn, craft, or purchase cosmetics, which are outlined below!

How do Vendors Work?
Vendors are narrative-based store operators who can be found in multiple locations in our game world. They sell Cosmetics, Gear, and Rare Resources in exchange for Units and common Resources.

  • Resources: Resources come in Common (ex: Fragments), Rare (ex: Plasma), and Exotic varieties (ex: Uru) – and are traded with Vendors or used to upgrade gear. Resources can be found in Resource Crates, dropped by enemies, gained through dismantling Artifacts, received as Faction assignment rewards, and via Hero Challenge Cards (more on those in a bit!).
  • Patterns: Patterns are earned through high-level crates, activities, Faction Missions, and increasing your Faction level. They can be used at Fabrication Machines to create an Outfit or Nameplate.
  • Units: Units are our soft-currency – in-game digital currency with no real-world value – which can be spent with Vendors. Units can be found in strongboxes or earned as rewards for increasing your Faction Level.

Gear Vendors

Gear Vendors will sell you character-specific Gear and Resources in exchange for Fragments gained through play. Collecting and dismantling Gear will fill you full of Fragments and other resources, which is why it is worth picking everything up and dismantling unneeded items for resources to exchange or reinvest! Gear rotates daily and weekly.

Cosmetic Vendors

Cosmetic Vendors accept Units gained through play to purchase Outfits, Emotes, and Nameplates. Legendary Outfits rotate weekly, while Nameplates, Emotes, and Epic & Rare Outfits rotate daily.

How Does the Marketplace Work?

In addition to all the content you can earn or buy with Units from Vendors, Marvel’s Avengers also features a Marketplace.

The Marketplace exists outside the game’s narrative and is accessible via the main or cosmetic menu. It is a place for us to feature purchasable cosmetics in the form of Outfits, Emotes, Takedowns, and Nameplates. The Marketplace’s Uncommon, Rare, Epic, and Legendary items rotate weekly, and can be purchased with Credits.

  • Credits: Credits are our hard currency – in-game currency purchased with real money that can be spent in the Marketplace on cosmetic items. A 500 credit pack is $5.00. Credits come in packs of 500, 2,000, 5,000, 10,000 with bonus credits for bigger packs.

What are Hero Challenge Cards?

Hero Challenge Cards allow players to earn Resources, Units, Credits, and Cosmetics for completing in-game challenges – essentially, do cool things to earn cool rewards.

Each Hero Challenge Card has 40 tiers of free and premium rewards. Rewards are earned via Challenge Points by completing daily and weekly challenges. Hero Challenge Card rewards include:

  • Rare Resource Bundle: Nanotubes, Nanites, Plasma, Catalyst
  • Resource Bundle: Fragments & Upgrade Modules
  • Upgrade Module Bundles: Upgrade Modules
  • Exotic Resource Bundle: Polychoron & Uru
  • Units
  • Credits
  • Hero Nameplates
  • Team Nameplates
  • Emotes
  • Takedowns
  • Outfits

We’ve activated the premium Hero Challenge Card rewards for all 6 starting heroes at launch, so you can earn and enjoy all content across the 40 tiers for free. When we introduce new Hero Challenge Cards for post-launch heroes, the cost to activate the premium rewards will be 1,000 Credits.

We want to reward players for their time, so once you activate the premium rewards of a Hero Challenge Card for 1,000 Credits, you can earn everything on that card, including more Credits! If you complete all challenges on your Hero Challenge Card, not only will you earn back your 1,000 Credit activation cost, all the content you’ll earn has a value of over 12,500 Credits. Remember, these rewards deliver fun in-game cosmetic enhancements and effects, but they do not provide a gameplay advantage.

Hero Challenge Cards do not rotate and won’t be retired, so once you’ve activated premium rewards, there is no time limit or risk in spreading your focus between heroes. That being said, If you‘re in a hurry, you can buy “skips” to get through tiers faster.

Marvel's Avengers - The Definitive Edition - CrystalRinny
With around 80+ War Zone/Drop Zone missions available at launch, you’ve got lots of options on what to play in Marvel’s Avengers, and who to play it with! You can:

  • Enable matchmaking, and jump into the game with other Marvel fans online
  • Invite your friends to play and form your perfect Strike Team
  • Disable matchmaking to fly solo and take on War Zones with AI Companions, kitted with the gear and skills you’ve earned!
  • Or, a combination of the above!

Read on for more information on co-op play in Marvel’s Avengers.

KEY TERMS

Let’s start with a few common terms:

  • Reassemble Campaign: The original Avengers story that follows Kamala Khan as she sets out to reassemble Earth’s Mightiest Heroes.
  • Avengers Initiative: The Avengers Initiative is at the heart of our expanding world, where you can jump into online co-op. Here you can continue to hone your team while playing through an interconnected series of stories, missions, and personal hero arcs. The Avengers Initiative will evolve over time with the free addition of new heroes, villains, regions, and gear, for years to come.
  • War Zones: A War Zone is an expansive, explorable space that can be played solo or co-op, loaded with side content including concealed caches to uncover, powerful bounty enemies to defeat, AIM depots to take over, faction allies to rescue, and hidden rewards to claim.
  • War Table: War Zones are accessed via the War Table, which can be found in Outposts, Quinjets, and the bridge of the Chimera Helicarrier. The War Table keeps the pulse of all AIM activity worldwide and allows players to launch directly to where they are needed most.
  • Strike Team: The term for your team that assembles to take on War Zone missions! Up to four players can matchmake into a Strike Team together – yourself, plus three others. No duplicate heroes may exist in a Strike Team.
  • Hero Level: The individual Hero’s total level, which is increased by gaining XP. The Hero Level affects enemy drops, chest rewards, and skill point availability.
  • Power Level: The average number of all Gear slots used. Power Level influences rewards, enemy progression, and gates access to late-game content.
  • Challenge Rating: This is the chosen difficulty of each War Zone on the War Table. Challenge rating affects enemy attack and defensive strength and counter difficulty.

CO-OP MISSION TYPES

Unlike in the Beta, if you want to jump right into War Zones and co-op play at launch, you can! (Beware of spoilers, however!) There are several types of War Zone missions you can access via the War Table.

  • Faction Missions: In addition to reassembling the Avengers, players will help rebuild Outposts for their allies. SHIELD suffered greatly after the disbanding of the Avengers, and the Resistance formed as a direct result of AIMs increasingly authoritarian activity worldwide. Players can take part in missions to provide these Factions intel, supplies, and defend them from AIM attacks.
  • Drop Zones: Drop Zones are short missions with a single objective, such as defending allies or sabotaging an AIM structure. These missions are great for quick play sessions, and for replaying to gain rewards.
  • SHIELD Vaults: Vaults are large explorable spaces that take some legwork to uncover. To access a Vault you first have to locate the coordinates from hidden SHIELD caches around the world. Once you’ve found the entrance, you must fight your way inside and breach the vault before you reap the rewards!
  • HARM Rooms: A HARM Room (Holographic Augmented Reality Machine) is a holographic training room where you can take on challenges with an assortment of enemies.
  • Hives: Hives are AIM strongholds located throughout the world, the Avengers must uncover their location and fight their way through and a gauntlet of increasingly challenging AIM defenses in order to disable them.
  • Villain Sectors: Villain Sector missions culminate with a boss fight, such as notable Marvel villains working in tandem with AIM, or one of the organization’s extra-deadly constructs.

MISSION FLOW

Once you’re ready to start a mission in Marvel’s Avengers, the flow is as follows:

  • Mission Selection: Players browse available missions on the War Table; This can occur in the Helicarrier, an Outpost War Table or on inside a lobby. Each War Zone mission will display the difficulty and suggested Power Level before launching. Although difficulty can be user adjusted, the higher the challenge, the bigger the rewards.
  • Lobby Load: Players load into a game lobby. If you have matchmaking enabled, this is where your strike team will assemble! AI Companions will be selected at random to fill empty roster spots on launch.
  • Ready Up: Players have selected a mission and are readying their Strike Team. Players can manually launch a mission with a less-than-full Strike Team if desired – the remaining spots will be filled with AI Companions. Players can set "Requested" companions on the Character select screen to specify AI Companions to fill empty roster spots. Pro-tip: If everyone hits the “launch mission” option, the timer will drop to five seconds!
  • Mission Load: Assembled Strike Teams have launched a mission and the mission is loading. This is when you can check out your Strike Team’s awesome outfits!
  • Mission Start: The Quinjet drops you off at your destination, and the mission begins! If a player drops out of a Strike Team while mid-mission for any reason, the game loads in a Companion AI version of the character to take their place.
  • Mission Complete/Summary: The mission is complete and players load back into the lobby. Players are presented with a tally of their proficiency on the previous mission and are rewarded for their success!
  • Return to Campaign or Stay in Co-op: Players select to continue playing co-op War Zone missions or return to Reassemble Campaign Missions. This phase is only presented to the player if they have the option to load directly into the next campaign mission for their current operation. Any player can interact with the Quinjet War Table and pick a new mission, but the party has a choice to veto it if desired.

MATCHMAKING

Matchmaking will prioritize matches between players close to each other’s Power Level. You’ve got three options when it comes to matchmaking:

  • Select War Zone: You can select a War Zone from the War Table to matchmake to that specific mission.
  • Quick Match:
  • Selected Hero: Select this option if you want to stay and level up the hero you currently are in any available War Zone.
  • Any Hero: Select this option if you’re open to playing any Avenger in your roster for any available War Zone.

If one player in a Strike Team has matchmaking enabled, the game will continue to try and match them with other players. Matchmaking will end once all open Strike Team slots are full, a player presses the launch mission button, or a player backs out of the ready up phase – for example, to select a different mission on the War Table.

Once a mission is launched, if there are empty slots in a Strike Team and any player has selected an AI Companion, the empty slot(s) are filled with the requested companion heroes. If there are more selected companions than available slots, a random character is selected from the list. If multiple players select the same Hero, the AI Companion with the highest Power Level is selected.

PLAYING WITH FRIENDS

If you’d rather play with friends, players can manually invite others to join their Strike Team by hovering over their Nameplate in the Social tab of the Character menu. The Social tab will show your friends, allowing you to invite anyone currently online!

You can also play with friends via first-party interfaces. Accepting an invite from a group currently in a War Zone will put you in a Quinjet lobby. When the group completes their mission they will join you!

Don’t worry if your friends are at a higher Power Level than you. When in a Strike Team, Power Level is a unified value across the team, and will determine enemy power. Challenge Rating doesn’t limit the matchmaking pool either; difficulty is set individually per player, and affects the rewards you receive at the end of the mission.

Speaking of rewards, they aren’t shared, so you don’t have to worry about others taking your hard-earned winnings!

Technical Tips

  • Muting Players: If needed, you can mute a player by hovering over their nameplate.
  • Pausing: When matchmaking is enabled, pausing the game is disabled in War Zones. When matchmaking is disabled, players are able to pause the game.
  • Join in Progress: Marvel’s Avengers doesn’t support Join in Progress Matchmaking at this time.
  • Crossplay: Marvel’s Avengers doesn’t support Crossplay at this time.

Tomorrow we’ll dive into gear and cosmetics, on Saturday we will detail our learnings from BETA, and close out the week with insight into the weekly gameplay ritual on Sunday!
Marvel's Avengers - The Definitive Edition - CD_StrumSlinger

Over the last decade at Crystal Dynamics, we’ve worked hard to implement and build upon a foundation of accessibility in our games. What started as a small and scrappy band of advocates evolved into a formalized accessibility team and has only gained momentum since centralizing our efforts.

When developing Marvel’s Avengers, we also leaned heavily on industry experts for our accessibility pursuits. We brought in Accessibility Consultant Cherry Thompson for early feedback on our game, who also helped us with improving representation within our world (more on that here: Accessibility On Marvel’s Avengers – The Journey So Far).

We also worked with the AbleGamers Charity to receive our APXP certification late last year. A defining moment for the studio, our certification means that we now have employees certified in accessible player experiences - something we’re proud and excited about.

Accessibility is an ongoing pursuit, not a finite goal. Marvel’s Avengers is an incredibly ambitious game for Crystal Dynamics, and so we plan to continue addressing accessibility and rolling out improvements well beyond launch.

With that in mind, check out our current and future accessibility features below!

AVAILABLE AT LAUNCH
SUBTITLES & CC
Subtitles: Marvel’s Avengers features subtitles in 15 languages, including: Arabic, Brazilian Portuguese, Chinese (Traditional & Simplified), Czech, English, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Polish, Russian, Spanish (Iberian), and Spanish (LATAM).

Subtitles are turned off by default, but can be easily enabled via the Display menu.
Subtitle options include a presentation with white text, or one that color codes to each character (ex: Hulk = Green).

Closed Captions: We’ve not only added closed captions for sound effects, but narrative tracks for descriptive play as well! When subtitles are turned on, you will also see closed captions added to cinematics by default.

GAMEPLAY
Our gameplay customization options include:

  • Vibration: On/Off
  • Multi-Tap Interact Style: Default/Hold/Tap – This feature allows the adjustment of input requirements for interactions that require rapid button presses to complete, such as QTEs. Setting this option to HOLD changes the requirement to holding down the button. Setting this option to TAP will auto-complete the interaction with only a single button press.
  • Difficulty Options
  • Easy: This mode is mainly focused on the story by reducing combat barriers and it includes:
  • Decreased enemy attack and defensive strength
  • More enemy attacks are easily countered
  • No enemy attacks are unable to be countered
  • Normal: For those who like a balanced combat experience.
  • Hard (+5 Power): For those unafraid to take on a greater challenge:
  • Increased enemy attack and defensive strength
  • More enemy attacks are difficult to counter
  • More enemy attacks are unable to be countered
  • Brutal (+10 Power): For those looking to prove their worth by facing a considerable challenge
  • Significantly increased enemy attack and defensive strength
  • More enemy attacks are difficult to counter
  • More enemy attacks are unable to be countered

CAMERA
Our Camera customization options include:

Camera Sensitivity: Scaler (0-10) – Allows for the adjustment of camera movement outside of aiming.

Shake Sensitivity: Scaler (0-10) – We heard a ton of feedback on screen shake during Beta. and tested a slider option in open beta. If you want to keep the camera moving like a blockbuster movie – you can! Or, if you’re prone to eye strain or motion sickness, you can tone it down as desired.

Combat Camera Distance: Default/Wide/Close – If chaos of the battlefield makes it difficult for you to concentrate on the tasks at hand, adjusting the combat camera distance may help you focus!
Y Axis Flight Direction: For inversion of flight controls

X/Y Access Aim Sensitivity: Scaler (0-10) – Separate scalers that allow for adjusting aim sensitivity on both the X and Y access.

Target Lock: Manual/Off – This option adjusts the behavior of the camera during combat. When enabled it will keep the camera focused on the last target until the enemy is defeated, or until the camera is manually aimed at another combatant. We received some great feedback about this feature during the Beta, and have implemented some improvements for launch!

Targeting Assistance: Off/Light/Moderate/Heavy – This feature adjusts the amount of assistance applied when aiming at targets. We received feedback during the Beta that this could use some additional tuning, and we are looking into it!

Combat Camera Recovery: Off/Light/Moderate/Heavy – This option adjust the aggressiveness with which the camera returns to the default position/orientation after manual adjustment during combat. If you’re sensitive to sudden movements, this may help!

HUD / UI
Menu Cursor Sensitivity: Low/Default/High – This feature allows you to adjust the sensitivity of the cursor within menus.

IN-GAME
Tactical Awareness: Triggering Tactical Awareness highlights points of interest, guides you to your next objective, and highlights AI or co-op companions. Hit this option if you ever need a reminder of where to go next!

Auto-Equip Best Gear: Our game has a huge array of gear and a deep customization options. If you are a fan of min-maxing your heroes, great! If you are new to this style of game or find the gear system a bit overwhelming and just want to get back to smashing, then hit the “equip best gear” button. While you will forgo customizing buildouts based on your favorite Gear perks or upgrades, we guarantee you’ll still have a ton of fun playing.

WORK IN PROGRESS UPDATES
High Contrast Mode UI: While we hoped to have this ready for launch, we lost a bit of production time in our transition to working from home. Our High Contrast UI is nearly finished – a feature that makes it easier to navigate our menus for low vision users or those who prefer simpler interfaces. We’ve got a few fixes left to ensure the feature is ready to roll out!

Subtitle Sizing Options: We received lots of feedback during Beta about options for adjusting the sizing of subtitles, and we’re already working on implementation! More information as we have it.
Motion Blur: Motion blur reduction was a common request during Beta. We toned down Motion Blur during combat as a result of Beta feedback, but are still looking into additional options for this feature – be it a slider or an on/off option. More news to follow!

We’re also in the early stages of evaluating some customization options that could help reduce cognitive load based on feedback from Beta. While work has not begun on adjustments, we wanted to make clear that your feedback has been heard!

GET IN CONTACT!
Accessibility is incredibly important to our studio, and it is an ongoing pursuit to make our games, marketing, and communications continually more accessible. To do that, we need you! Please share your feedback with us on social media, or directly at CrystalAccessibility@crystald.com.

  • 50+ enemy types to master
  • And in the future, new playable Avengers like Hawkeye, as well as new story content and regions – all at no additional cost

In addition to all of the above, we wanted to arm you with other important info that ensures you’re ready to go on September 4. This week we’re dropping daily blog posts that outline Everything You Need to Know about Marvel’s Avengers. Today, we are starting with details on Square Enix Membership requirements, the Day One Patch, and more! Let’s go!

BEFORE LAUNCH
SIGNING UP FOR A SQUARE ENIX MEMBERS ACCOUNT
For those of you who played the Marvel’s Avengers Beta, you’ll already have a free Square Enix Members account tied to your game profile.

Your Square Enix Members account is the gateway to redeem promotional pre-launch codes, and for Marvel’s Avengers post-launch content, including new heroes, new missions, and new regions at no additional cost. While not required for Reassemble campaign single-player missions, the free account is required for entering the Avengers Initiative to play co-op with your friends in the full game.

We recommend that anyone planning on buying the game should register their account early, so you’re not caught in potential launch-day email delays. In fact, everyone who signs up for an account will receive an exclusive Thor nameplate!

While Marvel’s Avengers’ launch is officially September 4, 72-hour Early Access is granted for those who pre-order the Deluxe Edition.

For early-access eligible digital editions of Marvel’s Avengers, the game will unlock at on September 1 - 9:00 AM PDT

PRE-ORDER PERKS

You can pre-order Marvel’s Avengers any time prior to the September 4 launch and still get access to the pre-order perks.

PC: September 4 - 9:00 AM PDT

We know fans are most excited about unlocking the Marvel Legacy Outfits, inspired by moments from the comics that defined each Avenger on their journey to becoming the icons they are today.

AT LAUNCH
DAY-ONE PATCH

While we were able to adjust development to a work-from-home environment quickly, we did lose a bit of production time in the transition. As hard as we tried, there were several updates and refinements that we could not get into the game, but plan to address with the Day One Patch to ensure everyone has the same great experience at launch.

The Day One Patch includes several updates and refinements that are required for play. Additionally, the patch includes localization files for the game’s dialogue, which are quite extensive, as we are localizing Marvel’s Avengers in 15 different languages.

The Day One Patch is also important as it includes lots of fixes, feedback, updates, and tuning from our Beta weekends. Over the last three weekends, millions of you have played the game for tens of millions of hours and killed hundreds of millions of AIM enemies. Your participation has been of immense value to us as we work to squash bugs, tune performance, and finalize game balance. We hope you will see and feel it when you play the final game!

WHEN CAN I GET IT?
We also wanted to give you an update on when global servers will go live and you can start playing the game!

From the beginning, our overall vision for Marvel’s Avengers has always been one where players would assemble online to protect the Earth and battle the forces of AIM as a team. While the entire game can be played solo with companion AI, the game has been designed as a seamless online experience, where players would transition from the single-player campaign to joining with friends in co-op missions as part of the Avengers Initiative.

As a result, everyone will need to wait until the servers officially go live on September 1st to start playing. It is important for us that matchmaking servers are populated because co-op is a fully integrated part of the experience.
