Hero Medals: A New Way to Promote Heroes First things first, you might notice a small but significant change - what we previously referred to as Hero shards will now be known as Hero medals. This change better reflects the historic and thematic depth of our game. These Hero medals are what you’ll need to collect to unlock and promote the new Heroes to the next tier.
Balancing and Tweaks: Always Improving We’ve put a lot of effort into balancing the Heroes system to make it as fair and exciting as possible. That being said, balancing is an ongoing process. As our community begins using Heroes in different strategies and battles, new issues might arise that we couldn’t foresee. Rest assured, we’ll be making adjustments to ensure Heroes continue to feel balanced and fun. All stats and skills are subject to change as we fine-tune the system as needed.
Heroes Will be Here to Stay You may recall that we’ve previously had temporary units in past events, and might be wondering whether this will be the same for Heroes. We’re happy to confirm that Heroes are a permanent addition to the game. Once unlocked, a Hero will always be available for use, even after they’ve fallen in battle. You can redeploy your Heroes from the Hero Panel, and any promotions you’ve applied will still be there for their next deployment.
We’re Just Getting Started We’ve already introduced 4 of the amazing Heroes coming in this update and we still have one more to go! With 5 in total coming to the initial release, each with their own powerful skills, this is just the beginning. We will continue to add more Heroes for you to collect after the first release, and we can’t wait to see your suggestions for who else you would like to see added to this feature. There’s also no need to worry about missing out on unlocking any of the Heroes in the initial cycle, as we will bring back old Heroes from time to time so you have more chances to collect them.

In this event you will not know friends nor family: In a 100p map with the ‘anonymous round’ feature enabled and no coalitions you will be pitted against 99 other players in a struggle for survival.
The event maps will start immediately after their creation with random country selection enabled and will run at normal speed. Players are flagged as inactive after 2 days. Please note that this event will also have a fixed runtime of 6 weeks: If no winner is determined before time is up, the player with the highest total of victory points wins and receives a generous gold prize.
In today’s update we’ve made some key adjustments to the recent fortress balancing changes, enhanced new players' experience with the game and squashed two pesky bugs. Check out the details below to stay on top of the latest improvements.
Fortress Changes: We’ve made some improvements to the recent fortress balancing changes based on player feedback. Each level of fortress now has 50 hit points, which has increased from 40 hit points per level, making them more durable and better for defense in comparison to Armored Cars. We’ve also reduced the days of availability for fortresses from level 2 onwards by one day for each level. This makes it possible to start building a level 2 fortress from day 1, since we previously reduced the build time for level 1 forts. As usual, these changes will only affect maps that were created after today’s update.
Maximum rank for tutorial maps: To ensure that our newer players have the best learning experience, tutorial maps are now limited to players up to rank 4. This change allows beginners to get a feel for the battlefield without facing off against more seasoned players, ensuring a fair and balanced start to their games.
4x speed maps for seasoned players: We understand that a lot of seasoned players prefer the option of playing a speed map without needing to wait for events. Due to the maximum rank being added to the tutorial map, we have also created 4x speed Great War and Shattered America maps for players with minimum rank 5 or higher. Now everyone can enjoy the game at 4 speed at any time, in a fairer way for beginners.
Card Deployment Interface on Desktop: We’ve resolved an issue where the deployment interface wasn’t launching when trying to use unit cards while a unit was already selected on the map. This bug also caused some confusion by making the in-game menu icons disappear after clicking "Continue." With this patch, your deployment tools and interface are back in full operational order.
Zeppelin Card Over-deployment: There was a bug where deploying Zeppelin cards sometimes launched two Zeppelins instead of one. This issue has been fixed, so these units now deploy with the correct amount again.

Georg Bruchmüller’s Skills: Artillery Commander: When Bruchmüller joins your forces from day 10 onwards, he brings with him a set of skills that significantly enhance the combat effectiveness of all artillery units in his army. Once unlocked and starting at tier 1, his presence provides a 10% attack damage buff to all artillery in his army, making them more lethal in battle. As you upgrade him to tier 5, his influence grows even stronger with the following skills:
Artillery Barrage: When fully upgraded, Bruchmüller’s command increases the attack damage of all artillery in his army by 25%, turning your artillery units into devastating forces of destruction capable of overwhelming enemy defenses.
Mobile Firepower: Additionally, Bruchmüller’s expertise in rapid redeployment grants all artillery in his stack a 20% movement speed buff. This ensures that your artillery can quickly reposition to maintain pressure on the enemy and adapt to the flow of battle.
Personal Bodyguard: Artillery: At tier 5, Bruchmüller doesn’t just bring his strategic prowess - he also arrives on the battlefield with two artillery units ready for action. These units, enhanced by his leadership, provide immediate firepower, making Bruchmüller a crucial force in any engagement.

In today’s update, we’ve implemented some balancing changes for fortresses, and fixed some crucial bugs. Let’s take a look!
Fortress Balancing Update:
We've identified some key issues with Fortresses, particularly in early-game scenarios where their long build times and vulnerability made them less effective. To address this, we've rebalanced Fortresses across all levels to improve their usability, especially in low morale territories and early confrontations.
Fortress Level 1:
Construction Time: Reduced from 24 hours to 8 hours.
Defense Bonus: Adjusted from 50% to 30%.
Hitpoints: Increased from 20 to 40.
Minimum Condition: Fortress level 1 begins offering some protection bonus at 10 HP (25% of total HP), which increases gradually as it builds until it’s complete. This begins with the first hit point in each of the next levels.
Fortress Level 2:
Construction Time: Reduced from 24 hours to 16 hours.
Defense Bonus: Adjusted from 60% to 45%.
Additional Hitpoints: Increased from 25 to 40.
Fortress Level 3:
Construction Time: Remains at 24 hours.
Defense Bonus: Adjusted from 70% to 60%.
Additional Hitpoints: Increased from 30 to 40.
Fortress Level 4:
Construction Time: Increased from 24 hours to 32 hours.
Defense Bonus: Adjusted from 80% to 75%.
Additional Hitpoints: Increased from 35 to 40.
Fortress Level 5:
Construction Time: Increased from 24 hours to 40 hours.
Defense Bonus: Remains at 90%.
Additional Hitpoints: Fixed at 40.
These changes make Fortresses faster to build on the frontlines and more durable in prolonged battles, ensuring they remain a strong defensive option. While the defense bonus is slightly reduced for shorter engagements, their increased hit points mean they can endure longer, and provide consistent protection, even shielding other structures in your province. These changes will only affect maps that are created after today’s update.
Bug Fixes:
Idle Troops in Allied Territory: We resolved a bug where idle troops were automatically attacking instead of defending when attacked in allied territory.
Tutorial Tips Not Fully Readable: We've fixed an issue where, in some languages, text overflowed and images were not properly centred in the tutorial box.
We are also in the process of implementing a moderation tool that automatically checks the newspaper for prohibited content. These fixes enhance the game's usability and ensure smoother gameplay experiences across different languages and scenarios. Prepare your defenses, Generals, and make the most of these fortified improvements!
