The first part of version 1.1.0p1 (custom animations) is now available!
This is the first part of a large update that should give access to downloading custom animations, as well as encrypting files for the workshop. Unfortunately, the update is too large, so many of the functions we just do not have time to test, so the update is divided into several parts.
In this update is ready:
Upload custom animations (.udceap) to the app;
Upload custom animations from and to the workshop (.udceap_encrypt)
You can already try out new animations: "Custom animations" => "Load from workshop", load animation pack, press the "Play" button 1 time. After that (currently without messages) you can select a character, scroll down the list of static animations and find the loaded animations. Pack with dynamic animations will be downloaded tomorrow. The tutorial for loading your animations will be added tomorrow.
New file formats:
.udceap: animation file exported from Unity
.udceap_encrypt: Encrypted animation file sent to the workshop. The cipher is not complicated, but when you first open the workshop, you agree that you will not wake it up. This will allow me to upload files as part of the application, and not as freely distributable .fbx models with textures.
Other functions:
Save some settings;
Slider to adjust gravity;
Temporarily removed material type: alpha cutout;
Now when you load a .udceab character with Standard materials, the flags are automatically turned off, which are responsible for transparency and the drawing queue. This should help in cases where parts of the character with certain materials are not visible.
Display in different displays: since it is too difficult to change this setting in the application at run time (you need to take into account the new screen size, etc.), now you can select the screen before launching. To do this, hold down the "shift" before you run the application (does not work on Steam, only UDCE.exe). This is a temporary fix and can be improved in future releases. Unfortunately, I cannot verify this, and I cannot be sure that it will work properly. Write on the forum if this does not work for you.
Bug fixes.
This update is quite large and most likely I missed something during development. If you encounter a bug, please report it in the community forum so that I can fix it quickly.
In the next part of the update (about 2-3 days):
New format: udceab_encrypt (encrypted file format with a character that you can choose to send to the workshop, instead of .udceab (or you can leave the old format));
The rest of the user functions requested by the community (unfortunately, due to the emphasis on animations, I did not have time to do all the functions);
Saving the remaining settings;
Refinement of the animation download interface so that the user understands that the animation is already loaded;
Look at mouse;
Bug fixes;
Partial translation of the new interface;
And many more small changes.
If you have problems with the new version, you can upgrade to the latest stable version:
Future update: v1.1 (custom animation) is coming tomorrow!
A small announcement of the next update:
For three days, I continue to work on a large function: support for custom animations (and poses) and a workshop for them. These animations can be used immediately on all characters (including custom). Exporting animations will occur through Unity, in much the same way as exporting characters. Animations can be downloaded not one by one, but immediately as a collection, which can contain as many animations as you like. Also, after the release of the update, several animation packs will be downloaded, which can be downloaded from the workshop.
Also, in this update, some features requested by the community are planned (gravity control, multi-monitor support, global settings saving, etc)
Estimated update release time: December 4th, 12:00 (PST)
Version 1.0.5 (Workshop/.udceab adaptation) is now available!
Additions:
The button "Move all characters to center" has been added to the "Settings" tab, which takes all the characters to the center of the screen. This can help if you have lost your character.
Bug fixes:
When loading characters. udceab (both from the workshop and on the line) with the support of physical bones, physics worked on only one last bone of the last character. Fixed.
Thanks to the new works in the workshop, improved adaptability for users:
Now the numbering of materials begins with 1, and not with 0;
Now when loading a model with inactive parts to which materials are assigned, only active materials will be displayed.
If the user made a mistake, and put the component physical bones on the character, the component will automatically be transferred to the root of the bone system
[alpha] Now the selected material is highlighted for ~ 0.5 sec., which greatly helps to edit models with a large number of active materials. The function is tested and may not work correctly.
Thanks to the cutting off of inactive materials, the loading time of characters with a large amount of inactive materials has greatly decreased.
[alpha] Now you can rename the content that you send to the workshop and this will not lead to an error (before that, the file name had to match the name of the asset in the workshop). You still can not write any name when sending. Function still in development.
Backward compatibility: all .udceab files (including the workshop) are compatible with the latest version. If you encounter a problem, write about it in the community forum.
Increased the number of localized interface elements ("Settings" tab)
In future updates:
Outline on non-standard size models.
Jamming of characters between the lower and upper bound, if the distance between them is too small.
Multi-monitor support
Adding new animations
Adding new (new year) standard characters
Adding new (new year) decorations for windows
If you encounter a bug in the new version, please report it in the community forum.
If you have problems with the new version, you can upgrade to the latest stable version:
Find the app in the Steam client
Click LMB
Select Properties
Go to the “Betas” tab (usually the last one)
Change "default" to "stable"
Save the changes and wait for the update.
Stable version changed to 0.1.0.4
Congratulations to all on the first day of winter!
Version 1.0.4 is now available! Added to the "Settings" tab:
The ability to disable the taskbar (characters will not take it into account)
Rotate light: you can rotate the light as you need.
Interface translation for these functions will be in the next update.
Change:
Now characters loaded as .udceab files automatically change their size to 1. Note: do not change the size of the character in Unity, change only the size of the model (scaleFactor). This will not affect the correctly created models, but it will help to correct a little those models that were created with this error.
May be fixed in the next version:
Jamming of characters between the lower and upper bound, if the distance between them is too small.
If you encounter a bug in the new version, please report it in the community forum.
If you have problems with the new version, you can upgrade to the latest stable version:
Added Chinese (in test mode, the translation may not be accurate). Added interface localization from version 1.0.1 to all supported languages. The language is now saved when you exit the application. Added a size slider in the character menu. If it is not convenient for you to scale the character with the wheel, you can use the slider. In order to avoid accidental clicks, the navigation through many function buttons of the interface has been removed. Bug fixed: Some user characters with a certain size looked trimmed with the perspective enabled.
Known bugs: Some custom characters with a certain size may look blurry with the perspective turned on. .udceab from older versions of Unity (up to 2018.2) may appear with materials errors. Restarting the application usually helps.
If you have problems with the new version, you can upgrade to the latest stable version:
A few hours ago, users asked to add MMD support (.pmx). However, having studied this topic enough, I have to admit that I cannot add support for the following reasons: Converters can not be used for commercial purposes without the consent of all authors. The distribution of converter plug-ins, without the consent of all authors, is prohibited. Moreover, the use of MMD models in applications is prohibited by license.
However, if you want to use the MMD (.pmx) model for personal use, you can download it using Unity. To download to Unity, you can use plugins found on the Internet (for example, MMD4Mecanim). Also, on the Internet enough video lessons on this topic.
Disclaimer: elfinikgames not related to MMD4Mecanim, MMD
Workshop (.pmx=>Unity=>UDCE=>Workshop): If you upload a model to a workshop and it will not violate US law, Steam rules, or copyright, there will be no complaints about it, most likely, it will not be deleted.
Thanks to community support, bugs were fixed and new features added.
Fixed loading .udceab: Unity versions 2018.2.x are now supported Backward compatibility: old version files also work. Rotate the character: now when you press the button again, the rotation interface will disappear. Character size (alpha): characters can now automatically adjust to the overall size: if the character is too small, it will be increased. The function is tested and may not work correctly on some characters. This function is only for downloading .fbx files.
Postponed for the following updates: Chinese language support (alpha) Character Transparency: With the current rendering system, this is difficult to implement, so transparency will be available later. MMD: In priority for the next updates.
If you have problems with the new version, you can upgrade to the latest stable version:
I hasten to present you an update on which we worked while waiting for the release of the application
Attention! Since the version has many new features, an extra has been created branch. If you have problems with the new version, you can switch to the latest stable version. For this you need:
