Grounded - Obsidian Aarik
The Grounded team is pleased to present the next update to Grounded with a new experience called Playgrounds. This new mode allows you to create, share, and play an endless amount of new content where only your imagination is the limit.

That’s not all, this update adds many quality-of-life changes, 40+ new building pieces, a revamped BURG.L quest system, and even a way to throw some hoops with the all-new basketball item. But first, let’s dive into Playgrounds… a new way to play and experience Grounded!

THE MAKE IT AND BREAKT IT UPDATE

PLAYGROUNDS
Introducing Playgrounds, our ambitious new game mode that allows you to create, share, and play new Grounded experiences with a new suite of tools and features, built right into the game.

Dream of creating your own boss battle arena? Create an escape room with traps and surprises? Dash into a racecourse with power ups and obstacles? It’s all possible with Grounded’s Playgrounds!

Playgrounds has over 300 world props to use to build your own backyard, 400+ items like equippables, resources, and consumables, more than 100 harvestables, and all the creatures! Yes, that includes bosses!

If you thought that was cool, wait until you hear about the gadgets and gizmos you have at your disposal! We’re introducing tools such as buttons, switches, levers, timers, lasers, power ups, and much more to add interaction to your Playground.

Dive into our advanced logic options, which include Condition Checkers, Logic Gates, and Switch Gizmos, to set up complex gameplay mechanics, like a Telepotty unlocking after defeating a boss to lead int

TWO MAPS TO BUILD IN

Not only is there a new game mode, there are two maps to choose from!

The backyard you know and love, and our new Playground map: The Grassbox.

The Grassbox is a completely empty backyard for you to build to your heart’s content, you are only limited by your own imagination. The team has included some areas to build your creations in such as ant hills, above and underground science labs, and a flooded area where you can use the wet terrain to your advantage.

DESIGN MODE AND PLAY MODE
While creating a playground, there are two modes: Design Mode and Play Mode. In Design Mode, you can freely place and arrange assets; in Play Mode, you can experience your creation in real-time. Even design with your friends in multiplayer!

Made a mistake? No worries! With the Undo/Redo feature, you can quickly backtrack. And with Free Placement and Rotate Freely options, you're not limited by grid placements.

SHARE YOUR PLAYGROUND
Once you've built a Playground you're proud of, you can publish it for the whole world to see. Each Playground gets a unique code ID that you can share with others. This means your incredible game modes, obstacle courses, or scavenger hunts could become the next big thing in the Grounded community!

Play Together
If you are only interested in playing, you can download Playgrounds from your friends and from creators all over the world. Enter the unique codes that are shared and download and play an endless amount of new content.

SYSTEM CHANGES
Next, we have a number of improvements to the core Grounded gameplay experience.

NEW CUSTOM GAME OPTIONS

We understand everyone has their own play style, so we're rolling out additional Custom Game Options to help you tailor your Grounded experience the way you want to play.

And guess what? All these custom game options have been neatly grouped under sub-categories for easier navigation. Plus, all players will be notified anytime the host changes a custom game option during gameplay. Talk about quality-of-life improvements!

DIFFICULTY CHANGES
We're implementing some key adjustments to Grounded's difficulty modes to fine-tune your gameplay experience. In Medium Mode, we are reducing all enemy damage by 10% and making pets invincible. May your little pet live on forever!

In Whoa Mode, we are beefing up player damage, increased building health and item durability. Durability penalty on death will be more severe, creatures will be beefier, and the time of day speed is slowing down a bit. Taking fall damage will be more dangerous and ALL of your items will drop on death.

Creative mode will now have all mutations unlocked, be fully yoked, and pets will also be invincible!

CONSUMABLES
Bandages, Smoothies, and Meals now have a 4 second cooldown. Don’t you worry though, healing items also got a serious upgrade, so you won’t need to spam smoothies anymore. Snacks and all other miscellaneous consumables ignore this cooldown. So snack away!

Speaking of Smoothies, the Questionable Slop is no longer craftable. We are replacing it with the Soothing Syrup which is super easy to craft and the recipe becomes available when you unlock the Smoothie Station. Slurp it up!

Dandelion Tufts no longer need to be equipped in the accessory slot. They are consumable items that are one time use. Don’t fret, you can now stack tufts and dandelions will drop more when chopped down. Along with this change, the Fluffy Dandelion Tuft now has unlimited uses.

NEW FEATURES
We're thrilled about all the new content and systems we're adding, but we haven't forgotten the little things that can make a big difference. Let's dive into some new features and improvements introduced in today’s update.

NEW MAP UI

We made some major adjustments to the Map UI. Not only can you clean up the clutter, you will also be able to see which SCA.B and Milk Molars you have collected so you can reference it with the ones you are missing on a Wiki page! Each icon category can now be toggled on and off for group visibility.

BURG.L QUESTS REVAMP

We are revamping the randomized, daily, repeatable BURG.L quests by introducing a series of "Apprentice Quests" that unlock sequentially. Once you complete the first quest, you'll unlock the second, continuing up to the final most challenging quests. There are roughly 100 in total!

But don't worry, daily quests aren't going anywhere; we're just changing how you unlock them. After you've finished the first 20 Apprentice Quests, a new Daily Quest section will become available in the ASL Quest menu. These dailies offer a mix of objectives based on your progress. Unlike before, you'll gradually unlock more options in your daily quest pool as you complete more of the Apprentice Quests, enhancing the questing experience for all players.

COMBAT OVERHAUL

Combat combo damage has been revised, the first 2 hits now deal consistent damage at 100%, while the third hit in the combo delivers a 25% bonus damage, packing more punch and keeping damage consistent. That’s not all, charged attacks have been boosted for nearly every weapon and crit damage now has a base chance even without any specific crit-boosting effects.

NEW TRINKETS

We're spicing things up in the trinket department too! Recognizing that trinkets have typically been more of a mid-to-late-game feature, we've introduced a new set specifically designed for early gameplay. Each trinket corresponds to a classic RPG role—so whether you fancy yourself a tank or an archer, you'll find a trinket tailored to your playstyle.

NEW BUILDING PIECES

The team has added over 40 building pieces, even the most highly requested Half Vertical Wall! You heard right! We didn’t stop there, we also included quarter pieces for each wall, foundation, and roof pieces! Go all out with all these new additions to build your perfect dream base. We also have some brand new Boss Vanity building pieces using the Broodmother, Mantis, and Wasp Queen parts.

That brings us to the end of our in-depth look at what's new in Grounded's "Make it and Break it" 1.3 Update. From the Playground feature to an array of new content and quality-of-life tweaks, we're continually striving to enrich your backyard adventures. But we've only scratched the surface here; for the full rundown of everything this update offers, check out the complete patch notes below.

We're thrilled for you to explore all the new features, and we can't wait to hear what you all have to think about everything we've introduced into the game today. Join our official Discord and keep the conversation going.

Stay tuned for more updates, and until then—Stay safe, and stay Grounded.

PATCH NOTES:

Showcase Feature: Playgrounds
Introducing Playgrounds: our ambitious new game mode that allows you to create, share, and play new Grounded experiences, using a new suite of tools built directly into the game. Populate your very own backyard with an array of items — Chunky Chubbs baseballs, toy army men, spiders galore — and that's just the start.

Playgrounds are powered by these core elements: Design Mode, Play Mode, Publish, and Play:

  • Design Mode
    • Design mode is where you create your Grounded experience by placing and arranging game objects and linking them up to make unique and fun play spaces.
  • Play Mode
    • Test your creation at any moment by swapping into Play Mode. In Play Mode, your yard will look and play how others will experience it. When you've tested enough, you can switch back to Design Mode, resetting everything back to its unplayed state.
  • Publish
    • Once you've built a Playground you're proud of, you can publish it for the whole world to see. Each Playground has a unique code that you can share with others. This means your incredible game modes, obstacle courses, or scavenger hunts could become the next big thing in the Grounded community!
  • Play
    • You can experience any Playground published by the community by entering the matching unique code to download a copy to play whenever and wherever!

Design Mode
When starting a new Playground, you will be placed in Design mode. In Design mode, you can run around as your selected teen or as Handy Gnat, placing and arranging game objects to make fun and unique experiences.

Place Most Game Objects
You have access to most objects that exist in the game, including:

  • Over 300 objects used in the backyard: baseballs, army men, juice boxes, and more!
  • Over 400 items, like equipment, resources, and consumables.
  • Over 100 harvestables like acorns, pebblets, and berries.
  • Over 400 buildings you already know and love.
  • All creatures. Yes, including bosses.

Free Placement and Rotate Freely
  • Objects can be placed anywhere in the yard (including labs and anthills) and even floating in the air.
  • Objects can be rotated freely in all three dimensions. Objects can be placed sideways or upside down.
  • Existing objects, including foliage, can be moved or erased.

Gizmos and Gadgets
Also introduced in Playgrounds are a host of Gizmos and Gadgets that will add interactivity to your designs. Gizmos are invisible during Play Mode. Gadgets are visible in both Design and Play Mode.

Buttons, Switches, and Volumes
  • Button
  • Standard Switch
  • Lever Switch
  • Pull Switch
  • Timer
  • Transmitter
  • Receiver
  • Pressure Plate
  • Rectangular Trigger Volume
  • Rectangular Blocking Volume

Gameplay Gadgets
  • Telepotty
  • Fan
  • Super Bounce Pad
  • Landing Pad
  • Laser Cannon
  • Laser Pillar
  • Shock Pillar
  • Power Up
  • Score Board

Gameplay Gizmos
  • Time of Day
  • Speaker
  • Music Changer
  • Effect Spawner
  • Quest Marker
  • Creature Spawner
  • Player Spawn
  • Equipment Equipper
  • Inventory Filler

Logic Gizmos
  • Counter with Condition
  • Switch Gate
  • Switch Gizmo
  • Random Chance
  • Random Selector

Trigger Events and Actions
Many of the objects listed above can "trigger" actions on another object.

A few simple examples include:
  • A placed Button can toggle a Plant Lamp on and off each time it's pressed.
  • A placed Timer Gizmo can trigger a Laser Cannon to fire every 3 seconds.
  • A player walking into a Trigger Volume can activate a Creature Spawner to spawn five Black Widows around them.

An advanced example:
  • A Basketball Hoop increments a Scoreboard and Counter with Condition each time a shot is made. After 10 shots are made, Fireworks shoot into the air and the Door blocking your way unlocks, letting you into the next room of the dungeon.
You can set up events by creating a "Link" from any object that has a Link Trigger to any object that has a Link Action. Once you have a Link between two objects, you can Customize the Link to set the triggering Event and the Action to take on the Linked object.

Many of the Gizmos and Gadgets above support Linking, as do a myriad of existing items, buildings, and objects already in the game.

Design With Friends
In addition to designing Playgrounds by yourself in single-player, you can also design in multiplayer and utilize Shared Worlds with this new feature.

New Playground Map: Grassbox
Not only can you design in the canonical backyard you know and love, we're also introducing a new map called Grassbox for Playground mode. Grassbox is a smaller, blank-canvas yard for you to Design in if you so choose.

The Grassbox comes with some empty, premade areas for you to quickly design in including:
  • Small bodies of water
  • Empty lab spaces
  • Empty ant hill spaces
  • And more!

Additional New Features
New Custom Game Options
To help you customize your Grounded playthroughs (and your new Playgrounds!), we have added additional Custom Game Options:

  • Whether or not players can build and relocate buildings.
Crafting Enabled
  • Whether or not players have access to the crafting menus.

On top of that, all of the custom game options have been grouped under sub-categories for better navigation and clients will be notified whenever the host changes a custom game option during gameplay.

Payback Attacks Reward Science
Defending attacks from Factional Reactivity or from the Waft Emitter will reward you Raw Science for each creature defeated. Stronger factions reward more Raw Science per kill.

New BURG.L Quest System
We are revamping the randomized, daily, repeatable BURG.L quests by introducing a series of "Apprentice Quests" that unlock sequentially. Once you complete the first quest, you'll unlock the second, and so on up to the final, most challenging quests. There are roughly 100 in total! After you've tackled these milestones, that's it for the Apprentice Quests—your journey is complete.

But don't worry, daily quests aren't going anywhere; we're just changing how you unlock them. After you've finished the first 20 Apprentice Quests, a new Daily Quest section will become available in the ASL Quest menu. These dailies offer a mix of objectives based on your progress on Apprentice Quests. You'll gradually unlock more options in your daily quest pool as you complete more of the Apprentice Quests, enhancing the questing experience for all players.

Grounded - Obsidian Shyla
Check out the Super Duper update video as you get real cozy at your base and meet the new neighbors in the backyard. See what the buzz is about in Update 1.2.0 as we share all the handy features, new creatures, and other significant improvements. It’s the update that will bring the sting of the hive.

The Grounded team is excited to bring Update 1.2.0 to the community today. Rightfully titled The Super Duper update, this massive update brings with it many quality-of-life changes, more than a hundred new items to craft, a brand new Base Coziness feature, and wasps, a new terrifying creature to fight. But first, let’s dive into the Super Duper… an item duplication machine!

THE SUPER DUPER UPDATE
Item Duplication
The Super Duper is a new piece of equipment installed in the Oak Lab. Players will find the Super Duper machine the next time they visit BURG.L! This machine will allow players to duplicate specific equipment and items using Raw Science. To use the Super Duper, players must locate Duper Discs throughout the yard. The first disc unlocks operation of the machine, while the other discs grant the player the ability to unlock duping of higher-tier equipment and items.

It can even duplicate trinkets, unique items, and upgrade stones. Making this even more helpful for players, any item duplicated will include all of the item's Smithing upgrades, saving a lot of time for when you and your friends need to gear up quickly and get back to adventuring.

NEW FEATURES AND IMPROVEMENTS
Coziness At Its Best
Bases are now more than just protection against giant insects that want to eat you. It’s time to chillax at your base and get cozy with the new Base Coziness system.

Buildings, furniture, and decorations now add to the coziness level of your base. If you are around enough cozy buildings, your level of coziness will rise. There are five total levels of coziness. For each new level of coziness you reach, you can unlock new decorative building recipes, a mutation that’s useful for base building, and new emotes. Being in a cozy location will also give you status effects: decrease hunger, decrease thirst drain, and slow healing.

More Base Décor

To help players out with their bases and to start working on gaining those coziness levels, this update also brings with it close to 100 new crafting items. The community has already shown a talent for creative bases, and we are super excited to see what new masterpieces you will create with the additional building pieces and furniture. We hope the Base Coziness system and new base buildings help you and your friends make a new home in the backyard.

Here Comes The Handy Gnat

Need a hand? Build the base of your dreams with the help of a new friend: Handy Gnat!
Players can summon the Handy Gnat to help with base building plans. This gnat will be able to build from storage near your teen using planks, stems, and other resources from your stockpiles.

The Handy Gnat Unlocked custom game option will be defaulted to active in Creative and Creative with Bugs game modes. To activate this new friend in Survival game modes, players must convert their games into Custom Games in the Game Settings menu. Once active, Handy Gnat can be activated in the Crafting menu or the Construction radial. The Handy Gnat feature a fantastic resource (and friend) to help you build or upgrade your home in no time.

Turret Improvements
Make rounds around the backyard and get ready to fire. The Pebblet Turret and Pollen Turret have been combined to be a single Turret called Acorn Turret. Use different ammo types, including new ones you haven’t seen before.

Turrets now have six different types of ammo you can rotate through to swap ammo types and all the ammo can be stored in a chest next to the turret. The best part? Players can swap between ammo without ever leaving the turret seat. Slow down enemy crawlers with Sappy Rounds, or use Groundy Rounds to ground flying insects with ease. Speaking of flying insects, this change with the turrets comes at the perfect time to fight against the new creatures in the backyard.

NEW CREATURES
Wasps Swarm the Yard

Get ready to buzz with excitement as wasps invade the yard! These hostile enemies will surely sting, and caution should be used when attempting to meet them in the upper yard. If you locate their nests and mess with them too much, you’ll release the full fury of the hive.

Players looking for a more significant challenge can attempt to locate the Wasp Nest and meet her majesty, the newest creature boss. Players who successfully defeat these wasps will unlock new items to craft, such as a new armor set and a new trinket to wear. Defend yourself and fight gracefully in the royal court of the Wasp Queen!

GROUNDED ON THE GO
Now Available on Steam Deck
Players on the go are about to get a pleasant surprise as the team has been able to get Grounded on the official Steam Deck support list. That's right!

Those on Team Steam Deck can now fully enjoy Grounded wherever they are. That's not all, as starting April 27th, Grounded will be hosting a free weekend on Steam through May 1st. This will be the best time to get your friends into the game with you and show them the fantastical world you have built. And as always, Grounded is included in Xbox Game Pass, so if you have an active subscription, you can download and start playing Grounded today.

Grounded is available now on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Windows 10/11, and Steam for $39.99. It's also available with Xbox Game Pass, PC Game Pass and Xbox Cloud Gaming (Beta). The Super Duper Update

New Features
Wasps Swarm the Yard
Get ready to buzz with excitement as wasps invade the yard. Battle with wasps and drones that guard their mini hives across the upper yard. Keep your eyes peeled for the hidden main nest as well. A word of caution: piss off their kin and you'll release the full fury of the hive.

New Boss: Wasp Queen
Cozy within her hidden hive, the ominous queen of the skies awaits.

Super Duper (Item Duplication Machine)
Introducing the Super Duper!
  • The Super Duper is a new piece of equipment installed in the Oak Lab that duplicates gear and items using Raw Science.
  • Find Duper Discs in the yard labs, which upgrade the Super Duper to clone even more items.  The first disc unlocks operation of the Super Duper, while the other discs unlock duping of higher-tier equipment and items.
  • Any equipment that is duped will include all the item's Smithing upgrades.
  • Higher-tier equipment costs more Raw Science to dupe.
  • It can even duplicate trinkets, unique items, and upgrade stones!
  • Example: Duplicate an upgraded equipment set for your friends if they are joining your party mid-way through your adventure!

Chillax at your Base
Bases are more than just protection against giant insects that want to eat you. They are also for making you feel warm and fuzzy inside.
  • Buildings now exude cozy vibes when you are nearby. If you are around enough cozy buildings, your level of coziness will rise.
  • For each new level of coziness you reach, you can unlock new things:
    • New decorative building recipes
    • A mutation useful for base building
    • New emotes to expand your body language
  • Being in a cozy location will also give you status effects that decrease your hunger and thirst drain and slowly heal you.
  • Multiple buildings of the same type don't give you the same level of coziness. For example, one bed will provide lots of coziness, but a second bed of the same type will only give you a little more coziness.
  • There are five levels of coziness. Your current coziness level will show on your HUD if it is at least 1.
  • Note: Some existing decorative buildings are now unlocked via the coziness system instead of by analyzing a material (such as the Grandfather Clock).

Handy Gnat Helps You Build
Have a large base renovation in mind? Tired of gravity holding you down? Then see what the buzz is about and call on your local construction pro: Handy Gnat!
  • As Handy Gnat, you can fly around to build and customize bases to your heart's content.
  • In order to use Handy Gnat, you must have the "Handy Gnat Unlocked" custom game option toggled on. This option is on by default in Creative and Creative with Bugs game modes. For Survival game modes, you must convert your game to a Custom Game first in the Game Settings menu to enable this feature.
  • Once enabled, Handy Gnat can be activated in the Crafting menu or the Construction radial.
  • Handy Gnat can build from storage near your teen and even haul Grass Planks and Weed Stems.

Additional Custom Game Options
  • All Mutations Unlocked
    • Start with all Mutations unlocked and available.
  • Fully Yoked
    • Start with all Milk Molar infusions fully maxed out.
  • Handy Gnat Enabled
    • Allows you to activate the Handy Gnat build helper.
  • "All Recipes Unlocked and Free" has been split into two separate options.: All Recipes Unlocked, and All Recipes Free.

Loot Luck
Increase the chance of obtaining rare drops and receive more loot in general! Loot luck comes in 2 forms:
  • Generic Loot Luck
    • Increases drop rate for all items on all creatures.
  • Targeted Loot Luck
    • Greatly increases the drop rate for all items from a specific creature type (for example, "Loot Luck: Black Widow" will increase the drop rate specifically for black widows).
This new luck status effect can be found in various places, most easily by utilizing the new "Rub For Luck" feature on all the stuffed creature buildings!

Turret Improvements
  • The Pebblet Turret and Pollen Turret have been converted to be a single Turret called "Acorn Turret" that can load different ammo types like a bow.
  • When in the Turret, you can press 'R' or Right Bumper to swap ammo types on the fly. The new ammo types you can craft are:
    • Rocky Rounds
      • Pebblet rounds made smooth with bug acid. Pack a punch and push targets back.
    • Groundy Rounds
      • Sticky turret rounds that don't do a lot of damage but can ground flying insects with ease.
    • Pointy Rounds
      • Sharp and simple. Very small cooldown between shots.
    • Sappy Rounds
      • Gooey rounds that are perfect for slowing down enemy crawlers.
    • Burny Rounds
      • Hot little suckers that can set the ground around them ablaze.
    • Splody Rounds
      • They explode. Nuff said.
  • Pollen Turret recipe and Pollen Turret Science Store entry have been removed.
  • If you previously purchased either the Pollen Turret or Pebblet Turret, you will have access to the new "Acorn Turret" building recipe.
  • If you previously purchased both Turrets, you will be refunded 4,000 Raw Science.
  • Turret aiming angles have been increased so you can aim higher and lower.
  • You can now see the health of the turret while inside of it.

Yoked Gardening
Muscle Sprouts can be grown in the Garden Patch now.

New Achievements
Three new achievements added related to the new features and content.

Photo Mode Improvements
  • Added Depth of Field slider.
  • 5 new poses added.

Steam Deck Support
Grounded has been updated to include official Steam Deck support. Fixed issues and improvements include:
  • The game now boots past the initial loading screen.
  • The Xbox log-in window properly displays.
  • Tuned the default graphics settings for Steam Deck to provide an enjoyable experience. Also includes some Steam Deck-specific optimizations.
  • Steam Deck virtual keyboard pops up when selecting any input text field in the game (entering a multiplayer game password, naming your trail marker / storage, pet, etc.)
  • Control prompts no longer flip flop between displaying gamepad and mouse/keyboard controls when using the touch pad or gyro.
  • Note: The Steam store page will not reflect this official support until after the 1.2 Public Test period is complete.

Quality of Life Features
View Enemy Status Effects
Status Effects applied to creatures now appear beneath the enemy health bar while you are attacking them.

Building: Hold to Place Many
  • Tired of placing one wall at a time? Then utilize Place Many!
  • You can press and hold the build action and move your cursor to place many structural buildings all at once. You can also bind the "Place Many" control (default unbound) to start Place Many with one button press instead of using the "Hold Build" action to activate.
    • Example uses:
      • Place a horizontal line of 10 foundations all at once.
      • Place a vertical set of 8 walls all at once.
      • Use both directions to make a 10x10 set of walls all at once.
    • Cool Extra Examples:
      • Quickly build a vertical spiral staircase.
      • Quickly build a fireplace with a chimney as tall as you want.

Relocate Walls / Floors / Roofs / Foundations
You can now relocate walls, floors, roofs, and other structural buildings as long they are not the sole supporter of another building.

Mutations
  • You can now configure 4 Mutation loadouts and quickly swap between them using the new Mutation Loadouts radial.
  • The default binding to open the new radial is Right D-Pad on controller or T on keyboard.
    • To make room on the controller, the emote and chat radial have been combined into a single radial.
  • There are 5 new mutations to unlock.
  • Active Mutation status effects display in the UI next to your other status effect icons.

Arrow Auto-Pickup Improvements
  • Arrows will now auto-pickup only for the player who shot the arrows. This is to prevent players picking up their friends' arrows on accident.
  • Arrow markers will only display for the player who shot the arrows.

Shared World Backup Saves
  • Shared Worlds now create local backup saves on the last host's machine anytime a save is made.
    • These saves are not stored in the cloud like the primary Shared World save and thus only the host that made them has access to them.
    • Backup saves can only be loaded if you were the last host for the Shared World when the backup save was made.
    • This is done to prevent multiple players from loading very old backup saves that stomp over the current playthrough progress.
    • Beneficial use case example: Your base is completely destroyed and the current host wants to load a backup auto-save from 15 minutes prior when the base was still standing.

Grounded - Obsidian Shyla
Casually Grounded hosted the Backyard Brawl with several of your favorite streamers fighting for the Champion title. It was an epic PvP tournament between the most valiant in the arena. Special thank you to the streamers for participating in the event and the Grounded community who supported them.

After the tournament, we revealed the Mutation Loadouts feature coming to the next update. Take a look!

Mutation Loadouts

You’ve been asking and we’re here to deliver! You can now configure 4 mutation loadouts in the Mutations menu. Players can quickly swap between mutation loadouts using a radial. The default binding to open the new radial is Right D-Pad on the controller or T on the keyboard. To make some room on the controller, the emote and chat radial have been combined into a single radial. We hope these changes will make survival in the backyard an even smoother experience.

Additional Custom Game Options

Speaking of the mutations, new options are available in the Game Settings when you play a custom game. Check it out.

All Mutations Unlocked allows the player to start with all the mutations unlocked and available, meaning you’ll be able to activate them at the beginning of the game! Please note that players are limited to two mutations at the start of the game unless they upgrade their Max Active Mutations in the ASL using Milk Molars. That, or enable Fully Yoked Start to fully max out the active mutations limit to 5. Fully Yoked Start will enable all Milk Molar infusions such as Max Health and Stamina to be fully maxed out.

“All Recipes Unlocked and Free” has been split into two separate options: All Recipes Unlocked, and All Recipes Free. All Recipes Unlocked allows all recipes to be unlocked but will require the player to gather materials to craft buildings or items. All Recipes Free means you will have the complete freedom to build what you want.

Handy Gnat Enabled will activate the Handy Gnat build helper for you to craft the base of your dreams. Wait… what’s the Handy Gnat?

Help from the Handy Gnat

Have a large base renovation in mind? Tired of gravity holding you down? See what the buzz is about and call on your local construction pro: Handy Gnat!

The Handy Gnat feature gives the player control over the handiest gnat around. Fly up and around to blueprint, build, and customize bases to your heart's content. In order to use Handy Gnat, you must have the Handy Gnat Unlocked custom game option toggled on. This option is toggled on by default for Creative and Creative with Bugs game modes. For Survival game modes, you must convert your game to a Custom Game first in the Game Settings menu to enable this feature. Once enabled, Handy Gnat can be activated in the Crafting menu or the Construction radial. The Handy Gnat can build from storage near your teen and even haul Grass Planks and Weed Stems. We hope this fly guy helps you create the base you want to build with less time and effort.

Right Around the Corner Stairs

Here’s an exclusive look at a new base building recipe. Introducing the Corner Stairs!

Corner Stairs come in four types for Grass and Acorn materials: Corner Stairs, Interior Corner Stairs, Corner Half Stairs, and Interior Corner Half Stairs. The Mushroom material has two variants being the Corner Mushroom Stairs and Interior Corner Mushroom Stairs. We’ve got the Corner Stairs and plenty of new base building recipes in store in the Super Duper update so stay tuned!
