Tiny Steam-specific update for you. (Fancy!) We just deployed a small quality of life fix for purchases.
When you purchase Stars in-game: - The in-game Steam overlay will now show pricing in your preferred currency - Pricing may change in currencies that are not USD
This will make it easier for you to see exactly how much your Stars will cost without having to do the conversion yourself, and will make way more sense depending on your region.
Note on missing DLC
If you are missing any DLC, please email support(@)innersloth.com so that we can help you out! We have to go through all these individually so apologies if it's taken awhile. Appreciate the patience while we clear up all the sabotages.
We’re excited to be back at work on our ship, and that means some exciting plans for 2022. As usual I am sworn to secrecy on the exact details, but here’s a peek at what we can talk about for now.
EDIT: FORGOT TO ADD MAP 5 TO THE "PLANS" SECTION LOL SORRY. THAT'S STILL COMING.
I know I know, you’ve been asking for a Friend’s List for ages!! It’s happening!! Finally you’ll be able to keep in contact with any Crewmates you get along with … or keep tabs on your greatest enemies, I guess? We know a ton of you have found some lifelong friendships from this game and that’s really cool – we want to allow you to keep in touch and continue playing games together!
As for quality of life updates, many of you have found some of the account creation, Cosmicube redemption, chat choice, and other aspects of the game flow a bit confusing. Understandable! You’re basically experiencing the building of Among Us and our adjustment to its popularity with us haha. That being said, confusing you isn’t the goal, so making improvements to the UX is also coming up next. Thanks for being patient with us!
Additional Fun Things
You might’ve already seen it around our social channels, but here’s a list of things:
Ghostface cosmetics are coming to Among Us soon! These will be free and more info out soon. Some great streamers played together to celebrate, which you can see here.
Our official store has plushies on sale, plus some new Cosmicube, Impostor, and Henry Stickmin merch!
Other things are on the horizon (like some more information about Among Us VR!), but for now, that’s what we’re up to. You might see a bit of fun stuff popping up in the meantime, and of course, you can look forward to new content updates too. See you online!
Two new Cosmicubes have dropped – the Snowflake Cube (earned using Beans) and the Snowbean Cube (earned using Stars). Themed for the holidays, this is full of warm and chilly winter gear for your Crewmate.
These Cosmicubes will only be in the store for a limited time. Get them now before they melt away! Remember: once you have redeemed a Cosmicube in the store, it’s yours to keep forever, and you’ll have as much time as you want to collect the items in it. You just need to redeem it before it disappears from the store.
You can see it all in the game by hitting the "$" sign on the home screen, but here’s a brief overview of the items:
Hope you enjoy rocking your new gear – can’t wait to see all the festive Crewmates around. Even Impostors can get in on the holiday cheer and slaughter a nice Crewmate for dinner. Uh. I mean. Have a wholesome gathering in the vents with all their friends and family.
Arcane Cosmicube
Speaking of disappearing Cosmicubes, the League of Legends Arcane Cosmicube is also disappearing from the store at the end of this year on December 30th, 2021!
In it you’ll find looks from some of your favorite characters from the show, including Heimerdinger’s Poro pet.
Out for the Holidays
Whewwww. It’s the end of the year for us over at Innersloth and this is the last post we’ll have until 2022! So I’m just going to take a moment to say thank you for everything this year. It’s definitely been bumpy and exciting and wild, but you’ve stuck with us through it all! (Or you didn’t??? That’s okay, too. We still appreciate you.)
We’re still a small team, and while we’ve grown a bit, it’s been a huge learning process getting Among Us to this point. Here’s just a brief glimpse of all the things we’ve done this year: a new map, account system, reporting features, safety additions, 15 player lobbies, art revamp, Cosmicubes, roles, consoles, achievements, and more! It’s kind of wild to reflect back on all of it now. Huh.
I hope you’ve had fun playing, whether it’s a game you play daily or just check up on once in awhile. Thank you.
The team is headed out for our holiday break in a couple of days – it’s the one time where we really can take a vacation, so that’s exciting. If you have any issues with the game, player support will still be around at support@innersloth.com!
And finally, from all of the Sloths and Spacebeans, we hope you have a wonderful winter holiday. Stay warm, stay safe, watch out for any Impostors.
Quick update because uhhh I forgot to post this yesterday lol sorry. Along with our Xbox and PlayStation console launch, the game got a small patch to fix some ongoing bugs people were experiencing!

Upcoming Cosmicube
Tomorrow the Holiday Cosmicubes drop! Get ready to get festive and deck the halls with blood some fun new looks. Both a Bean and Star Cosmicube will be available, and we can't wait to see your Crewmates running around. I'll make sure to post about it again tomorrow so you know when it drops!
Samurai Gunn Cameo
We're so excited the Crewmate is making a big cameo in the Samurai Gunn 2 game in their latest update, which just dropped now! It's a fun, extremely speedy 4 player multiplayer fighting game, and the team there nailed the Crewmate vibe. Watch the trailer below and you can get their game NOW on Steam!
Show them some love for us! We were all really lucky to have found players like you in our community, and supporting other indies is something we really want to do more of. Indie games are something special and being able to help support and lift them up? It'd even make an Impostor cry.
Okay that's it for meeeee. See you in the next update for HOLIDAY STUFFS.
Dress up and play as your favorite Arcane character in Among Us’ first ever Cosmicube partnership, out now on all platforms through December 31, 2021!
We’re so excited to have worked with Riot for an official collaboration to celebrate the launch of their first animated series, Arcane! You’ll see some fan favorite champions, hats, and skins from the League of Legends franchise, including Heimerdinger, Jayce, and Caitlyn. Oh! And Heimerdinger’s absolutely adorable Poro pet. Check out the full list of cosmetics in the game!
Much like your ability to survive as a Crewmate, all good things must come to an end. The Arcane Cosmicube will only be available from now through Dec 31, 2021 before it disappears from our store. However, once you purchase the Cosmicube, the ability to unlock the cosmetics and items inside it will be yours forever.
All cosmetics are purely visual and do not have any effect on gameplay or gameplay options! This is purely for your eyeballs (or visor?) to enjoy. Don’t forget to activate the Cosmicube once you redeem it in order to start earning Pods to unlock the contents. You can activate the Cosmicube via the Crewmate button on the front page, or in the game lobby. You can purchase the Cosmicube on the Store by pressing the "$" sign in the game.
The fact we’re partnering with Arcane is wildly exciting for us, and we hope you love all the cosmetics in the game. Not bad for our first-ever collaboration, huh? There’s a ton to get hyped for in the future.
Can’t wait to see all those Poro pets running around!
The latest major update for Among Us - version 2021.11.9 - just launched and is out now on all platforms! The Role & Cosmicube update features adjustable Roles, an all new store, and a progression system!
New Roles
A whole new level of gameplay is here. These 4 brand new Roles add a ton of complexity and new gameplay to the social deduction mechanics you know and love!
More information can be found in the Lobby Settings, but here’s a quick rundown:
Crewmate Roles:
Scientist: Access vitals at any time. Complete tasks to recharge your battery.
Engineer: Can use the vents.
Guardian Angel: Cast a protection shield around the remaining Crewmates.
Impostor Role:
Shapeshifter: Disguise yourself by morphing into any other Crewmate.
And like most of our game settings, these Roles are completely customizable! Add or remove whatever you like, change the probability, and even alter individual abilities.
Cosmicubes
You: Wants more cosmetics, collabs with other games, and progression. Us: Wants to give everyone more things, needs to survive and pay for server costs, and do more cool stuff.
Cosmicubes are a new way for you to get exclusive cosmetics and show off your gear! Space bean drip, as they say.
Here’s what this includes:
Brand new customization options - both free and paid. Visor cosmetics and special name plates make it even more fun to change up your look, plus additional pets, hats, and skins.
Cosmicubes and unlockable cosmetics. Even more themed items are now unlockable via our new branching Cosmicube system! Play the game, gather resources, and reap the rewards of your murde-- uh, I mean, tasks. Cosmicubes are a special feature for Among Us! There will be both paid and free varieties, and have more premium sets of themed items.
All cosmetics are purely visual and do not have any effect on gameplay or gameplay options. You might have noticed that the game doesn't demand much in terms of cost, but the upkeep as a small indie team is quite large. To keep the game going, servers running, and give everyone more free cosmetic options, we’re excited for the Cosmicube update! And then if anyone feels like supporting us, then the paid cosmetic option is there too.
If you bought DLC cosmetics from the Steam store, no worries - those will be transferred over. You should get an in-game pop up showing you how to connect your cosmetics with your account. Keep in mind you can only do this once.
New items and XP means a need to be able to aggregate and link your Among Us account to different platforms! For most platforms, you'll be able to log in, link, and save your progress and cosmetics using the same account.
Read the in-game instructions VERY carefully to make sure you don’t overwrite the wrong account!
Among Us for Xbox and PlayStation will launch on December 14, so you can expect a whole new crew to join us in space! We still have plenty of things we want to add into the game like the next map, more roles, and other gameplay features…so keep an eye out. But for now, happy venting!
Our next major update is coming soon - actual release date to be announced - and while a huge chunk is secret, we did reveal new Roles would be part of it. As a little treat for being so patient, here’s a peek at what the new Impostor role will be. The rest of the roles will be for Crewmates only!
Introducing: THE SHAPESHIFTER.
The Shapeshifter can change their appearance and disguise themselves as other Crewmates. Do it well to frame other Crewmates and create confusion about who the real Impostor is. But watch out! The disguise doesn't last forever and leaves evidence behind.
Ability: This Impostor can pull up a menu of all other living Crewmates in the game and select one to copy their appearance (name, colour, and cosmetics). However the shapeshifting only lasts for a limited amount of time, unless altered in the lobby settings. Crewmates can see you midway through shapeshifting if they’re within line of sight, and the shift will leave evidence behind. During meetings, the Shapeshifter will appear as their original selves.
Adjustable gameplay options:
Probability: In the game lobby settings, you’ll be able to change the number and chance of an Impostor to have the Shapeshift ability.
Shapeshift Duration: How long an Impostor stays shifted after they change.Â
Leave Shapeshifting Evidence: Whether or not there is physical evidence of a shapeshift being left in a room after the Impostor morphs.Â
Our internal playtests have already become extremely chaotic from this change, and it’s a ton of fun trying to guess who’s who. Especially when you stumble upon two of the same Crewmate in one room! That’s it for this sneak peek!
There’s going to be a special event coming up VERY SOON with more information about release so please watch out for the news on our Twitter, Discord, or newsletter for when it’ll be happening.Â
Happy October and spooky season! I bet you’re wondering when the next update is.
WEEEELLLLLL.
We’re working on it? :D But no really, I know it’s been awhile since our last one with concrete information, so here’s a transparent-a-dev-log as possible to explain what’s been going on.
Server Issues
From Sept 20 as of today, you may have noticed our servers were a bit wonky, and you weren’t able to connect or create a game at many points during that time. This was due to a DDoS attack we were experiencing. Essentially, someone was spending a lot of money to send A LOT of traffic to our servers, which overwhelmed the datacenters. When a datacenter is overwhelmed the server maintainers close off the network for our servers and we have to take an outage. There are no privacy concerns or anything associated with this – the only problem is the fact people aren’t able to play the game when this happens.
When it comes to DDoS attacks, our options are limited, and honestly as much of a headache for us as it is for you. To counter it, we did get new hardware, shuffled some things around, and generally improved things, but these things take time to test and get approved, hence the delay in implementation. (And meanwhile, the DDoS continues for as long as the other person has money to throw at it, which is an expensive endeavour. Usually attackers just give up after an hour or two, but at peak, this was at a scale that took down Google servers some years ago!)
Everything should be up and running extremely soon, with future preventative measures! We weren’t sure if we should share this with you, but we wanted to be completely honest about the realities of game development, especially live games.
Roles and More?
But we’ve been pretty quiet about what we were exactly working on, haven’t we? Well – one thing I CAN tell you is our next *gameplay* update will be focused on implementing new roles. Which ones? That’s a secret. How many? Uh, also a secret. (More than 2.) (Maybe 3.) (Could be 4.) We also have another update planned around the same time, but I can’t say anything about that one yet.
The roles we’ve come up with may be slightly different that the ones you’ve seen around due to mods, because these are ones we’ve always wanted to implement into Among Us even before we released the game back in 2018. We just never had time for it. But thanks to the continued success of the game (thank you for playing!), it’s possible now. So we hope you enjoy what we come up with.
Crucially, because we want to make sure everyone can enjoy it, it’ll be an update coming to all our current platforms. And it’ll be free of course! As I’ve mentioned before, you mostly only see community mods available on PC due to the fact porting those things to other places like mobile and console are much more difficult (and in some cases impossible without being a developer.) We can’t wait for you to see what we’re doing with it! It’ll definitely add SO many layers and depth to the original game, and during our playtests we’ve already had a ton of fun testing it out.
And that's it for this update! I figured we can start calling our dev logs emergency meetings, so I roughly counted how many dev logs we had before and ended up with #32, hence the title of this once. No idea if it's accurate but this is what we're rolling with now! See you around the internets.
