As with the Foundation update also this update is only available in English and German!
And old save files are not compatible with the beta! You have to start a new adventure to try the new implementations out.

Remember this is a beta version, so still work in progress.

Last time we ended with two new decoration styles and we will stay within this theme and present you:




Acquire the new pirate and adventurer outfits by completing new unique collectible challenges!

• Collect each of the five Fleeting Essences hidden on each island without returning to the cam to unlock the adventurers outfit!

• Complete the Ancestor´s Trial to unlock the new combat difficulty increasing curses and defeat enemies with all of them active to unlock the pirate's outfit!

New idle animations for every crew member (except Charles) make your camp feel more alive!

Now it's time to move on from the stew rewards and how to get them with the new system to some new friends!


You can now build your relationship to the Parrot and the Ancestor!
Improve your relationship with the Parrot by investing ingredients into the stew for the crew and raising your crew's happiness level!

• Unlock the Parrot as a merchant you can encounter on four of the five islands to trade food for rare and useful items!
  
• Gift your excess seeds from farming or exploration to the Parrot in exchange for various other items!

• Gain powerful buffs that will give you an edge in combat while wearing the golden hats rewarded for completing the Ancestor's Trials.
  
• Convert your canoe into a mobile one-way portal stone!
  
• Get the option to activate dangerous curses that will greatly increase the level of challenge during the Ancestor's trial and earn a new outfit!

Time for the third part of our sneak peek series!


We have told you in the first two parts a lot about the rewards from the stew and how they can be unlocked with the new token system.

Now is the question, how do you get them? When you exchange a token vs a reward, above the head of the crew member where you can pick it up, the present symbol will appear.




Rewards are collected by just talking to a crew member.
Due to some quest dialogues having a higher priority, the reward dialogues were sometimes not used and the reward was not collected which caused confusion and frustration among players.


There will be a separate option for collecting your stew reward when talking to a crew member.



New unique stew rewards allow you to expand to the previously uncharted plateau east of the camp. Spend rewards token to unlock new foundations and build your very own personal shack with up to 3 rooms to decorate!

Last week we started our sneak peek series, read part 1 here! Our hot topics were a new stew system and tracked preferences.


Now we will explain our teaser from the last sneak peak. As you now know, you will earn a token for every happiness level.
This means, with the new stew reward system you can choose from every available reward in the game, allowing you to retroactively unlock any you missed out on and complete all achievements.




New repeatable stew rewards allow you to trade your hard-earned reward tokens for many different rewards including components, fish and key shards!

This week I want to talk out of the sewing box and tell you some of our future plans regarding Stranded Sails.

The stew for the crew:
You will be able to put up to 9 of the same ingredient into a crew members slot, right now you can put a single one per slot.
The duration of a stew is now determined by the total amount of ingredients in all slots when you start one. The stew will last 1 hour per ingredient you put in, allowing you to start one that lasts up to 72 hours if you fill all 8 slots completely!



Tracked preferences:
You gain progress towards your next happiness level for every ingredient you put in. You still get bonus progress for giving each crew member ingredients they love. Each crew members preference is now also tracked and displayed in the inventory while you are preparing a stew.



Stew Rewards:
Your crew's happiness level is no longer gated by main quest progression. Whenever you reach the next happiness level you will earn a reward token. Spend reward tokens in the new stew reward UI to choose from all available rewards and unlock them!

The Foundation Update is not the end of our journey and so we have some more implementations for you. Especially for those gamers of our community who still were not satisfied with the energy system.

New relaxing camp buff!



As a little reminder, we changed before that normal running and rowing doesn't cost energy at all. What we did now is, You now gain a buff while inside your camp which removes all energy costs from sprinting, allowing you to freely run around the camp! You can run as long as you wish to all shacks and ship mates, but beware digging and watering your plants is not included!

We know how difficult it can be to find special items, sometimes we even forget where we found them. To help you all, we implemented new detailed information on the map that shows you which items are common on each island, making it easier for you to acquire specific components or ingredients!

Small Update 1.3.1 - Patch Notes

New Features and Changes:

New relaxing camp buff!

• You now gain a buff while inside your camp which removes all energy costs from sprinting, allowing you to freely run around the camp!

Get more information from your map!

• New detailed information on the map shows you which items are common on each island, making it easier for you to acquire specific components or ingredients!

Other Changes:

• Adjusted lock icon to look more polished when displayed larger than a certain scale.
  
• Various performance improvements to smoothen the gameplay experience.
  
• Added animations to appearing and disappearing buffs in the buff UI. Gaining and losing buffs is now also communicated in the pickup history.

Bugfixes:

• Fixed an issue that would lead to the player being able to interact with objects while in a boat and subsequently getting stuck when doing so.
  
• Fixed a bug that would cause fishing to not be immediately cancelled and thus to still allow input until the screen went black when blacking out during the process.
  
• Fixed a bug that would cause music and ambient sounds to not properly start/stop when entering/exiting a ladder or rope.
  
• Fixed a bug that would cause the interaction hint to have the wrong icon when starting the game.
  
• Fixed an issue that would lead to French dialogues being displayed in the male version even though the character was female.
  
• Fixed German localization typos.
