Bow, arrows and spear, trident available as distance weapons to hunt and defense.
Equip spear, trident or boomerang into right hand. Press and hold left mouse button for pull and aim. Press left mouse button to throw,
Equip bow in left hand. Press and hold left mouse button for pull and aim. Arrows will be auto equipped from inventory to your left hand (if you have them). Press left mouse button to fire.
Spear, trident, bow, boomerang and even arrow can be also used as melee weapons to punch or stick. Just left click without holding right mouse button.
To aim use HUD.
Please this is very first iteration - I have used only simple basic animation - so shooting and aiming might look strange from some viewing angles. This will be replaced with advanced ones as soon the basic mechanic is tested. Thank you for your understanding.
Bear can be killed by hits from arrow, spear or trident - each is giving different damage. Hit into chest (heart) area are more lethal. It might even die after few moments - if moving arrow in wound gives him additional damage. Bear can not be hurt by boomerang. Bear will not respawn once killed.
Birds can be killed by just 1 hit boomerang inclusive.
Bear drops "fish" meat. This will be replaced in "Meat and Bones Update"
Also we will add several types of arrows - after "Birds Update"
To it new hunting prey will come - as seagull, rabbit (currently spawning in traps only) and other small animals.
Bear was added to the game – as you wanted to have more adrenaline experience since start. It can charge on player or even sniff out food, especially meat, chocolate and honey. So it can come and plunder your camp or traps. But food can be used to distract it away from some locations.
To kill it – use spear or trident and aim for the chest area where heart is. Might need several hits. Bear can be skinned to meat (it drops temporally fish steaks).
Flare was added to drifted boxes. Works same way as torch – can be used to light fireplace.
Placing it to inventory will make the fire to extinguish. As I found this not realistic – this will be changed in future updates. The flare/torch holding animation is set to left hand.
Fixed some issues with spawn and volumes of drifted boxes. Male character is temporally switched off until new animations are tested and upgraded.
Previous game versions savegames should work – but will not have bear spawned.
Drifted crates will spawn once new mission level is unlocked. Includes high tier loot: - chocolate +350 food - military rations MRE +400 food - matchbox - lights fire (check the matchbox volume indicator) - syringe +20 health - antibiotics - antimalarials - repellent
To open crate - place it on ground and use some tool as stone, obsidian, knifes or axe in your right hand. Crates can be used as fireplace fuel.
Added a lot of animation for female character. Male animations will be added when successfully tested, Therefore I would strongly suggest you to play as female.
Antibiotics, antimalarials, repellent give now +20 health. This will be changed when diseases are introduced.
To be added soon: - flare - military flashlight - field flask - echinacea flower - echinacea tea for health recovery - mint herb - mint repellent
- more animals, various fish, snake, frog, scorpions... - a update dedicated just to birds - seagulls, pigeons and their life-cycle from egg to bird
- hunting bow and spear. Both mechanics are already tested - and successfully working
- illnesses - various illnesses will come including cholera and malaria. Different herbs will be added acting as healing item or repellent. - world temperature impact on character and loot. Items as wood will dry according to sun intensity. Heat comfort will have impact on character health. - also new areas on map will be accessible - providing some interesting loot and background for future story
- drifting boxes from ocean will provide player loot such as chocolate, matches, MRE, flare, etc.
- also I would like to introduce leader-boards - so players can compare their survival skills.
Also we will be starting to work of a new map called "Inland"
This will include - Forests, meadows, abandoned villages and fields. New hunting prey will be added as boar, deer and new predators as wolfs packs. There will be new items available such as cloth, items for cooking and even simple hunting firearms - bolt action and shotguns. Horse companion.
The final part will be third map called "Mountains" (year 2021) This will be rough environment with rocks, snow, ice, rough wind a low temperatures.
So first thank you for you support and feedback - it was a great help and I have already incorporated a lot of in - easy settings with 10x loot, drag and drop stacking and fixed a lot of issues. Also added new animations and sound for female (male coming soon).
Added new game difficulty - Easy. When tested got up to 70 coconuts and 80 bananas.
New loot spawns volumes: Easy - 10x Hard - 3X Ultra Hardcore - 1X
Together with previous durability update - this shall bring better player experience for majority of players.
Important - keep in mind, that game has living dynamic environment and economy needs several minutes to spawn items to full capacity.
Works with previously saved games. Game difficulty can be changed during gameplay - please allow several minutes till economy populates (or decreases) the items in world.
Weather impact: Easy: 10 % rain chance (no rain for first 2 days). No storms. Hard: 25 % rain chance (no rain for first day). Storm chance: 15 % when raining. Ultra Hardcore: - 33 % rain chance including first day. Storm chance: 33% when raining.
Implemented new mechanics to loot life cycle (durability).
When player touches (picks and drops) item, the durability of item will be extended, preventing quick despawn of collected loot.
Currently applied to: - Coconut 10x - Coconut empty shell 10x - Bamboo rod long 10x - Bamboo short 10x - Driftwood 10x - Stone 20x - Obsidian 20x
The total durability depends on actual quality. Keep in mind that loots spawns in various quality. Also items can be burned by fire or washed off on sea.
Also updated and added new animation handling structure. This will be not be visible now, but it is important to merge animations in future (like walking when crafting, or turning).
The current animations are really basic one. Also they do slide - this will be addressed in larger animation update. It is not efficient for me to do it now and completely rework it later.

- oyster now spawn in shallow water on beach. The game has ocean tide mechanics - so it is easier to look for them during low tide. - bamboo might spawn in upper bamboo forest near by jungle as well - fixed 2 places nearby rock where player could get stacked - sound settings fixing - fresh water rock should be more accessible - bird nest can not be picked up now - there will be a big "Birds" update - fix when character was sitting and tried to attack
Added Drag and Drop stacking in Inventory, Just drag same item on another and they will stack.
Stack volume is only shown on stack-able items now. Added information about stack maximum.
Solved issue with item quality when stacked in hands via stack buttons - should be fully functional now.
Please note that drop and stack, stacking when picked up and stacking with shortcut does not work with item quality yet. This will be done shortly after drag and drop is tested.
