Thank you to all of you who have purchased the new Lost River DLC map! We really appreciate it, and we've enjoyed seeing players explore and experience the map! We have now added the new music from this map to the WolfQuest original soundtrack, and also the old Music Extras DLC pack. There are nine new tracks, all composed and performed by Tim Buzza. In the game, you hear these when you're exploring the human areas of the map, and a few other select locations. We think Tim once again hit it out of the park with these tracks, and we know a lot of you agree. There's now over three hours of music in the soundtrack -- and the price is still $10, so if you haven't purchased it, no worries, the price isn't going up.
We've also begin adding art from Lost River to our RedBubble store: the new town sign painting by Rolin, some achievement icons by Loach, and some of the new dream images by Susan. We'll be adding more in the future too. Check them out! https://wolfquest.redbubble.com/
Thanks to everyone who has supported WolfQuest this year. We're going strong and have a lot of great stuff still to come, so stay with us! _________________________
The WolfQuest saga will continue! Stay tuned for more news in upcoming devblogs about it and other new features!
Once the game is completed on PC/Mac, we will turn our attention to other platforms.
We do not announce specific release dates. We will release them when they are ready.
Game saves and multiplayer are both compatible with the last released patch, 1.0.9d, so you can switch back and forth, and play games with others who have that patch.

Pups-running-away bug is fixed now, sorry about that _______________
v1.0.9d
IMPROVEMENTS:
* Optimized queries to WolfQuest game account on server, to reduce server load. * Unclaimable hexes around the cattle ranch are now tinted gray, to be clearer that they are unclaimable. * Reduced effect of difficulty level when struggling to escape from ranch trap. * Rival pack wolves in Lost River now have varying attributes.
BUGS FIXED in LOST RIVER:
* Animals can still spawn in Floppy's enclosure. * Pups won't enter tall grass a northeast rendezvous site. * Multiplayer Lobby: Some info not shown in preview panel for Lost River map. * In Merriweather house, wolf can glitch into a closed room, forever entombed there. * Lost River collectible objects don't glow in scent view. * Blank achievement alert appears at certain times. * Don't Throw Stones achievement doesn't register if visited in late summer (during Endless Summer quest). * Blades landmark sub-achievement doesn't register if visited in early spring (during Find Den quest). * In summertime, red maple tree at Monday Gulch den grows 2x in size. * Trekker and Long-Distance Traveler achievements now indicate distance traveled in the notification, and do not appear if player has already unlocked achievement for that distance, to avoid confusion. * Various den issues (den opening shrinking not enlarging when being dug out; one den without a hole in the ground; many dens don't glow in scent view) * Dachshund levitates when swimming. * Dead dogs don't smell. * Can't climb onto bed in hunting lodge. * Various issues with NPC pathfinding. * In certain spots, players can get stuck when leaving the cattle ranch once daytime arrives. * Many terrain, water, and environment issues (potholes, gaps in terrain or deep snow, etc.)
We've made some optimizations of the WQ user account system on the server, which should greatly reduce the server load. A patch coming soon will also have further optimizations, so we are optimistic that we won't be seeing significant issues with logging into your account and registering achievements in your account. Very sorry about the troubles over the past five days!
* Collectibles don't glow in scent view. * Some rocks are black on low-quality object setting. * Pup and mate pathfinding issues at a couple dens. * Player-wolf can't enter doghouse near downtown. * Some other terrain and environment issues.
Obviously the WolfQuest server is having trouble handling the many people playing the game since the Lost River map release. First, thank you all for buying the DLC! We really appreciate it. But it's very frustrating that during peak times, you can't always log in or stay logged into your account (which is necessary to earn achievements). We've made some changes on the server to help with this, and are looking at more improvements, both in the short-term and the long-term. In the meantime, we ask for your patience. Very sorry about the trouble and frustration!
* Game stalls on black screen when moving from Establish Territory to Find a Den. * On low graphics quality settings, some large rocks are white. * Two dog dens in the house near downtown.
* Made rival packs work a bit harder to maintain their territory during the fall, so they won't be so gung-ho about expanding in the winter. * For Steam users, you don't have to be logged now to have Lost River DLC unlocked (if purchased, of course).
BUGS FIXED:
* Some Lost River dreams are white. * Trekker (and Long Distance Traveler) achievement won't unlock if game is saved and reloaded during the journey. * Some gaps in deep snow (but more still need to be fixed). * Some of the new animals switch models when dying, or are inconsistent between host and client in multiplayer games. * Den raids by new animals show coyote icon in corner. * On low graphics quality levels, some big rocks are black. * Pyrite and Geyser Tonic collectibles sometimes float in air. * Player-wolf can get stuck trying to dig out the den under the shed above Grant's Creek. * If player has edited the mate's bio, ironwolf autosaves revert to normal saves. * If Good Memory perk is active, some Lost River dens show the wrong den icon on the map. * Mate has trouble entering and pathfinding inside the coffee shop, RedHead Rooster, and the modern glass house. * Completion music doesn't play when finishing the Loaf at Rendezvous Site quest. * Pups can have troubles when walking around the truck den. * Road and sidewalk mesh isn't reliably reactivated after moving from winter to spring season. * Other animals can spawn in Floppy's enclosure, and Floppy can spawn outside it. * Pups sometimes have pathfinding troubles at some tree dens. * Many minor issues with terrain and game environment (not all reported issues are fixed yet).
The v1.0.9 update is now available, with a few improvements and fixes to the main game, plus the new reimagined Lost River game map, available as DLC for US$12!
NEW: LOST RIVER MAP (DLC)
A fictional area in the Mountain West, featuring both expansive wilderness and a mysteriously-abandoned town. Some years ago, all human residents evacuated the town of Lost RIver. Nature has begun to reclaim the place, with elk herds and other wildlife wandering the abandoned streets and subdivisions. Wolves may wonder what happened here, but they will never know. This is a reimagined version of the Lost River: Classic map, remade from the ground up and now equal to the scope and quality of Amethyst Mountain and Slough Creek.
Features; * 8x8 kilometer map (30% larger than the WQ:AE Yellowstone maps) * The full arc of quests, from learning to hunt through raising pups. (That currently brings you to Endless Summer, but once the Saga is completed, it will be available in Lost River as well as in the Yellowstone maps.) * The mysterious town of Lost River, which humans abandoned some years ago -- but where you'll find clues about their activities and concerns. * A vast wilderness reaching into the mountains, where elk roam and grizzlies roar, dotted with interesting natural and human-made features. * Over a dozen buildings that wolves can enter and explore. * All the gameplay and animals in the main game, plus a few more! * Over 20 new achievements. * Cattle ranch where players can press their luck by preying on the herd -- but beware of tricks that the ranchers have up their sleeves! * New music tracks when exploring the human areas of the map, in the same style as the original Lost River soundtrack. * And much more (including the return of Lost River's best-kept secret) -- but you'll have to explore the map to discover it all.
ALSO NEW:
* Once you have a mate, a new Mate tab appears in Pack Info, where you can see your mate's attributes and genetics, and write a short biography if you wish. (Bio is saved with the game save.) * Snow remains at high elevations in the springtime. Snow coverage is now synced correctly between the terrain and rocks, trees, and other objects, based on elevation.
IMPROVEMENTS:
* For the "travel a long distance with pups to a new rendezvous site" achievement, an alert now notifies you when you've gone the required distance.
[h3BUGS FIXED:[/h3] * Some small gaps in deep snow. * Small birds fly out from snow-covered sagebrush in winter. * Multiplayer: Sometimes notifications don't appear for all players. (Possible fix, might still occur, please report if you see the problem.)
NOTE: Game saves and wolves are compatible with the last patch, v1.0.8t, but multiplayer is not -- you can do multiplayer games only with players who have this beta. Beta is available for Windows and Mac.
BETA 2
(Only for Windows currently, will do Mac soon, delayed due to some technical issues. Until then, if you have the bug with going from Amethyst to Slough Creek, just save your game and go to the main menu and start a new SC game with that mate.)
FIXED:
* Can't progress from Amethyst to Slough Creek when reaching the star on the map. * Undoing edits to mate bio changes mate bio text to player-wolf bio text. * Dirt dens in Slough Creek have a dark tint.
