We've almost hit the 300% mark on the Gamedec's Campaign! We have 48 hours to go before the Kickstarter ends!
Like every great TV show about detectives, let us wrap the story so far into a convenient bit. Thanks to your generosity, we've unlocked many of our Stretch Goals. What's on the list? True Detective Mode, Additional Interactions, Additional Character Customization, Virtualium based on the Seven: The Days Long Gone game, French & Spanish localization, and a Cthulhu virtualium which was chosen via poll for backers and our community.
We are getting closer to unlock the Partial Voice Overs - help us spread the word about Gamedec to get there before the campaign ends! Thank you for your outstanding support, detailed feedback, retweets & shares, interactions & engagement – we really appreciate each and every one of them!
$200K GOAL - NINTENDO SWITCH VERSION
Because we are so close to the finish line, we decided to show you what might be unlocked if we’d reach the 200K stretch goal. Sit down, relax, take a deep breath, and let us tell you about an entirely new possible Gamedec experience.
At $200K mark, we will bring Gamedec to Switch! That's right; if we reach 400% of the initial goal, we will release Gamedec on Nintendo's most popular handheld console! We've listened to your feedback and thought that you would like the idea of getting into the world of gamedecverse anywhere you want! Dig down into solving crimes committed in virtual worlds, wherever you are!
We know that there are Nintendo Switch fans out there who wanted to play Gamedec on Switch, and we are really counting on your help to spread the news about the new platform to as many people as you can. If we manage to reach the 400% mark, we will give you an option to select the digital code for the Nintendo Switch version as one of the options. We cannot promise the simultaneous release, but if the stretch goal is funded – you will receive your copy on the switch version release. We need your support to make that happen! Create a buzz, tell all your friends, tweet about it, post it anywhere you can - let the game speak for itself! Time's running out - only 2 days remaining on the campaign clock!
Yesterday, some of you had an opportunity to watch Executive Producer of Gamedec - Łukasz Hacura – play the alternate route of the Twisted and Perverted case and to ask him a lot of questions.

We're getting close to the finish line of the campaign. We were astonished by how fast we’ve been funded [36 hours!] and how many of the prepared Stretch Goals were achieved – of course, there is more to unlock (read about our latest stretch goal HERE!). With your help, we think it’s possible to reach it before the end of the campaign and add partial Voice Overs to our game. Many of you asked for them, so let’s make it happen!
During our campaign, our updates were focused on the core mechanics of the game: aspects (here) professions (here), character creation (here), and lore (who is gamedec?). Today we want to post something different.
This time, we will focus on people behind the project, Gamedec. Maybe you already had a chance to interact with some of them (for example, during the AMA on Reddit), but there are more than 20 people involved. We won't show all of them in this update, but let’s meet some of them to help you familiarize yourself with them. As important as the game development, the people behind the project are crucial to achieving what the designers have in mind.

We are shocked! With your help, we've reached the next stretch goal! Now we can confirm that the Cthulhu Virtualium (selected via poll by our community and backers) will join the roster of gamedecverse virtual worlds with Low City, Harvest Time, Twisted & Perverted, virtualium based on Seven: The Days Long Gone and others! That's over 4000 backers and 280% of the goal we've wanted to fund in this campaign initially.
Cthulhu Virtualium Unlocked
You will solve a case in the world filled with darkness, madness, and tentacles (maybe!). Who knows what are you going to see? Set your imagination free with this one, and try to guess in the comments. Remember - those who get closest to the truth – don't wake up as themselves anymore. They belong to the Abyss. Broken.
We are only six days before the campaign ends, and we are still getting a lot of love, support, and passion from all of you! Thank you for your unceasing support, many comments, retweets, and shares – we appreciate every one of them!
The next Stretch Goal is something many of you have asked for a long time - Partial Voice Overs!
Each NPC will have a set of vocalized lines to understand their personality and attitude better. Not all dialogues will be recorded, but this will give you an insight into the nature of the NPC with which you interact. Like in old school RPGs - sometimes it will take a few sentences or just one specific word to know what kind of the person you are going to interact with.
Intrigued?
We need your help to reach the next stretch goal of 170k to make it happen. Share the link to the campaign with your friends – let people know about our game!

Thanks to your support, we've almost tripled our initial goal. On 140K, we will hit another Stretch Goal and unlock the Cthulhu-inspired Virtualium thanks to you guys! Over 270% on the bar, and we're still chasing a very exciting announcement for 170K!
You can't imagine how excited we are to make our game even better. The experience we gained from this campaign is going to be worth a lot more than mere money can buy.
We also have something special coming on Friday!
We are in the final week of the campaign, but still have some time left, and we expect to reach the next stretch goal in no-time. Almost one month with you gave us the possibility to widely expand our project and create an amazing community that'll help us make Gamedec a better game.
If you'd like to help us in the last push, please share this link over your Facebook, Twitter, VK or other social media:
You can also tag it with #CthulhuVirtualium – we hope that H.P. Lovecraft’s fans will consider our world worthy their attention and like or share the posts to help us bring the tentacles into the virtual worlds of Gamedec.
DEVELOPER LIVE STREAM WITH Q&A!
Watch our live gameplay stream of Twisted and Perverted Virtualium case, with developer comment on Friday, 24/04/2020, starting at 9 PM CEST/12 PM PDT. You can watch it on various channels like Facebook, Twitch, or Gamedec’s Steam page!
During this stream, Łukasz Hacura, our Executive Producer, will play the alternate route of the T&P case with some new never-seen-before outcome! Because of the form of the material, you will be able to see uncut gameplay from this part of the game. Łukasz will also explain some of the mechanics and interactions and will tell you more about the general premise of Gamedec.
Also, there will be a Q&A Live Session during this Livestream, so feel free to ask him all the questions you want!

It's time for another article about game mechanics. In this update, we will tell you something more about the Character Creation process.
There will be few moments more important in Gamedec than the one when the character creation window pops up. After all, this is the beginning of the journey, the moment when you decide on your backstory, and your appearance. Remember that your gamedec is a tabula rasa for you to draw upon. And it's your choice how you want to start this adventure.
In most games, character creation is a long and involved process. Players wanting to make the best choice about their stats needs to pore over pages and pages of options. It can take a lot of time and effort, so we wanted to address it differently.
The process of determining your background will begin with just a series of questions about you. A kind of a Voight-Kampff test, though the consequences of your answers might be a bit easier to predict, and the results of it will be your starting aspects. They're mostly focused on your past experiences, approaches in dealing with problems, and various preferences. After the assessment of your test, you will be given a set of aspects needed to unlock the professions we deemed fit for your playstyle.
In addition to being accessible, character creation in Gamedec is simple and straightforward. There are no equations for figuring out derived stats or dividing points on different statistics – Your choices are reflected by your aspects during the first part of the Character Creation.
The third step of the process is deciding on an avatar. In essence, you will be able to choose from few archetypes (e.g., noir detective), each having variants depicting different ethnicities and genders. After selecting the ethnicity, gender, and avatar of your gamedec, the world is yours to explore, secret's yours to crack and character yours to further define with actions and words.
As you know, we've reached out to the Stretch goal of Additional Character Customization, which means that you will have five more skins to choose from. Some of them will be a classic addition to your character style; some of them will be something different. What skins would you like to see? Write it down in the comments, maybe it'll inspire us to craft something unexpected!

Some of you are already familiar with the gamedecverse – Polish fans of the books already know about the sophisticated elements of the world you will discover in the game. In the previous Lore Database, we’ve given you a description of the Gamedec profession (you can read it HERE!). This time we want to provide you with a chance to learn more about the universe the game is set in.
“...thousands and thousands of games, and hundreds of millions of players...” - In this short video, Marcin Przybyłek (The Author of the Gamedec Saga) will tell you a bit more about the constant battle between developers, players, and cheaters. He will also focus lightly on the story of Bruno - the most potent player in "Dream Space".
From now on, our social media, Steam and updates on Kickstarter will reveal some more information about the game, and the whole gamedec universe. If you want to see more of those topics to be covered by Marcin/Gamedec Team – Let us know in the comments. There are more to come, such as worlds, equipment, and stories to tell. We will do our best to help you get into the world of our game, to better understand the whole universe of Gamedec.

We are now over 230% of our initial goal – Another milestone for our Kickstarter campaign. There are also over 3200+ backers already! That's a massive number of people who believe in our project! Reaching this mark means that the French and Spanish (text-wise translation) will be available during Launch!
If you are speaking one of those languages – you will be able to choose your native one at the release of the game; hence you will be able to play text-wise in Polish, English, Russian, Chinese(simplified), German, French, and Spanish!
We are in the middle of the campaign – there are still 14 days left to the finish line, and we are not stopping! Thank you for your unceasing support, many comments, retweets, and shares.
In the last update about Stretch Goals, we gave you a chance to decide which virtualium should be added next via an exclusive survey – that one came with the "time limit" of reaching out to the current funded stretch goal. It's time for the results of the poll!
CTHULHU
"This place has only three exits, sir: Madness and Death." - Rene Daumal
They say there is a virtualium that can make one mad. That somewhere in the small port town, every shadow hides a whisper, and every whisper knows a secret. If you look at a window – there will always be a pair of eyes looking right back at you. If you look at the lighthouse – you're sane mind will be blinded. The Old Ones claimed that town years ago, guarding secrets that might shake the very fabric of time and space. Or at least, so they say – no one achieved that while keeping their mind intact. And when you fall into the warm embrace of insanity – you lose. You wake up in the realium, and all that you've seen is like a distant nightmare, fleeting from your memory. Your decisions are yours again. But you go back there, time after time.
Now the best ones – those who get closest to the truth – don't wake up as themselves anymore. They belong to the Abyss. Broken.
Would you try going there, Gamedec, sir? Knowing you'll have only one chance at solving this case and still, it might cost you your mind?

Last week we started a small series of articles about the game mechanics you can find in Gamedec. The first one describing Aspects (which you can read HERE!) ended with a sort of cliff-hanger on the Professions. So, without further ado, take a quick look at professions and how you can evolve the character during your playthrough.
Every gamedec has a story to tell about a life they once had. Every one of them has a background that shifts the way they see the world and defines their approach to problem-solving. It’s like second nature - sometimes long forgotten, other times locked away like a bad dream. This is how professions work in our game – on the mechanical level they define character progress, on a narrative one – they help you flesh-out details about your gamedec’s past.
When navigating the profession tree – you can as usually, choose whether you are a focused expert, brilliant in one chose field or rather a jack of all trades, master of none. The latter gives you specific freedom of approach when dealing with day-to-day challenges of medium difficulty. Still, it might be impossible to tackle complicated situations – you won't be in control anymore, left with a need to improvise and hope for the best.
For example, let's say you have a pack of three bottom tier professions, like Influencer, Medic, and Technician. That would allow you to work your natural charisma to manipulate people around, find hidden data caches that belong to virtualia designers, and give someone a CPR. But if you were to invest fully in the News-related branch (that is: go from Influencer to Journalist, Reporter and finally a Swapper), you would become a real information-broker. You have a press pass, own informants, ability to install and disable micro-cameras, and an inhuman ability to find your way into any database.
On the other hand – being an expert in a specific path lets you thrive in some environments but leaves you somewhat awkward in others. Not every case can be solved only by your vast knowledge of Chi-Tong - a programming language based on ideograms, allowing you to hack the hell out of everything, sometimes you might need to be able to perform a field operation or use the strength of your muscles.
What you might find difficult, as a player, is to resist temptations – since you are retro-actively defining your background, we allow you to unlock professions mid-interactions. During a dialogue with a character, you will see profession-specific choices, even those you did not choose, and – if you have aspects needed – you can unlock at that very moment.
Will you resist the urge to gain the upper hand and stay true to your original plan for gamedec’s background, or will you allow circumstances to form your past?
The choice is yours, and you are a sum of your choices.
What do you think about professions? Would you like to know more about them? We will be hosting an AMA on https://www.reddit.com/r/pcgaming - 16th April 2020 10 PM CET/4 PM EDT – It will be the perfect time to ask us anything, including professions.
