The Walking Dead: Saints & Sinners - sdi_souleater
Release notes for Hotfix #4 - The Walking Dead Saints & Sinners, CL 158675

Additions/Improvements:
  • Alpha SteamVR Oculus Support (ini change is required, see the “Hacks” section below)
    • This is an early Work-in-Progress version and there may be some flaws. However, after our initial tests we thought we could share it with now and ask for your help to improve it. Your feedback is always welcomed and is extremely helpful!
  • Previously unavailable recipes now have a chance to drop from Elite Soldiers during the post game
  • Increased the Save Slots from 6 to 15

Bug Fixes:
  • Event System should now continue after completing the game
    • ***Note*** We miscommunicated this release note, and we apologize for that! The Event System will work properly for any new game or if it wasn't already broken. If you already have this issue, it will not be fixed. We are looking into a retroactive fix and will keep you posted!
  • Progression Break - Retroactive fix for “Tomb and the Tower V” (May Intel Quest)
    • If you were already previously stuck on this quest, this should allow you to continue

Hacks:
  • To enable Alpha SteamVR Oculus support
    • After downloading the patch, run the game and then exit again
    • Open your GameUserSettings.ini
    • Find the block of settings beneath the line (/Script/TWD.TWDGameUserSettings)
    • Find the entry bEnableOculusSteamVR=False
    • Change it to bEnableOculusSteamVR=True
    • Save the file and launch the game again
    • If your controllers are not working on the Main Menu, the community has mentioned that setting your bindings to default should resolve the issue

    • If your height ever feels off, use HMD Reset to correct it.
    • Recent fixes:
      • Reduced the radius when checking to avoid many cases of small overhangs causing a full crouch
      • “Feeling Taller/Shorter” after exiting a crawlspace - Made some adjustments to help maintain consistent height
      • Improved the camera height change when entering “full crouch” from physical crouch
  • Added base 20% deadzone to left motion controller thumbstick axis

  • Various Crash fixes

Polish:
  • Some animation and art polish touches

Hacks:
  • More GameUserSettings.ini options you may find useful:
    • bPhysicalCrouchDisabled = True (if you prefer the old crouch. If you do this, please let us know what's not working for you.)
    • VoiceImmersionThresholdScale (to tune mic pickup level for Voice Immersion.)
    • bMicEnabled = False (to disable all microphone features. Good for noisy environments and some streamers may prefer this.)

Oh.. and one more thing:
  • Voice Immersion
    • There's a menu option to enable it. Try it.
    • Known issues: Rift, RIftS, Vive, Index supported. WinMR and 3rd party mic not supported in this build

For everyone:
  • Handgun/Pistol angle adjustments, two-handed grips on one-handed firearms now stay level
...and for those who have demanded it:
  • An Alpha version of Physical Crouching!
This an early Work-in-Progress and there are definitely some flaws, but the early results are so promising we wanted to share it now. Also, we want to ask your help to make it better. So...

The feature is still in active development, and you'll have to hack the INI to expose it.

Here's how:
  • Open your GameUserSettings.ini file which in typical Windows 10 installs will be here:
    C:\\Users\\{username}\\AppData\\Local\\TWD\\Saved\\Config\\WindowsNoEditor\\GameUserSettings.ini
    • Note: The AppData folder may be hidden, but you can reveal it via Folder Options from your Start Menu
  • FInd the line that reads:
    /Script/TWD.TWDGameUserSettings
  • Right below that, insert the following: bPhysicalCrouchEnabled=True
  • Run the game, give it a whirl.
Some Caveats:
  • Start each play session by hitting ResetHMD/Pause from a comfortable standing position. If anything gets weird, do it again.
  • If you find you have to crouch too far or not far enough you can edit CrouchDistance=32.000 (found in the same file), to any number you find comfortable. Be sure to post any mods you make that make it feel better.
Known Flaws:
  • Sometimes pops a bit when entering a crawlspace. We're already working on it.
  • You can find some bits of level geometry that pop you down when you crawl near them.
[/list]
Post about it! Tell us what's working and what's not, post videos of awkward moments, or of beautiful ones. Everything we hear helps us make it better, and believe me we are listening!

Last, we want to give a huge shout-out to everyone who pushed us to make this happen. You were right - it's going to be amazing! With your help, we'll get it there.
