Journey Overview
Starting on August 22nd, classic PVE challenge stages will be available 24/7, rotating weekly. Participate in the event to earn Shield Points, which can be exchanged for Epic Artillery Selection Chest, Optimal Divine Crow, and the brand-new Epic Mount [Blazing]!



Snowballs at the Great Wall
The Rangifer Mountains lie north of the Borderlands, serving as a natural barrier against invasions from the north. Thus, the old empire built a "Great Wall" of linked forts along the ridges to discourage invaders.
During the last snowstorm that struck the Heartland, to bolster the warlords' resolve against the harsh winter, the Auctioneers hosted the Storming the Great Wall Competition. They rallied warriors to charge towards the Great Wall, infusing the siege battles with furious passion.
Now is the time to return to the old battlefields, reigniting the spirit of tackling tough!

Chaos brewed within the realm of Yayoi. Under the leadership of their lord, the Sanada clan chose a strategic site within their domain to establish their main stronghold, fortifying it for self-preservation. Though its original name has faded into the mists of time, it is now universally known as Wolf Cages. Through the long years of strife, even when the Sanada forces faced defeat on the battlefield and teetered on the brink of collapse, as long as the main stronghold stood firm, they could always rise again, ensuring the survival of their lineage.
Now, the unbroken fortress stands tall before you, the time for glory has come, and victory lies just ahead!

The Dasuo Pass once stood between the East and the Borderlands, a vital passage for eastern travellers venturing into the heart of the continent. The broader the expanse, the more alluring the conquest it seemed. In the past, valiant warriors from the East, driven by the ambition to expand westward, launched grand campaigns to breach the formidable Dasuo Pass. Amid the relentless waves of war, it eventually succumbed, the frontlines pushing westward, and power dynamics reshaped.
Now, warriors, come back to the Dasuo Pass! Let us reignite the flames of battle upon this land, and bring the storm back again!

First, let me thank you on behalf of all of us at Poros/Booming for your passion. We understand that you have been asking for specific changes in the ecosystem and some fundamental game mechanics. It is important for us to take these requests seriously and carefully consider every piece of feedback for impact and feasibility. We appreciate our community immensely for wanting to improve the game alongside us, and we want to assure you that we are working diligently behind the scenes. We will build a better experience that you can enjoy for years to come.
 
As we recently took over from MyGames, we have come to understand a lot of your concerns much better and are working hard to analyze and implement as much as we can. But it's not just the game itself, it's also how we interact with you as a community that will be elevated from now on. Building a unified world of Conquerors Blade with players around the globe, all playing with the same passion for the game. We will have more to say on this in the coming days and weeks.
 
The community letter recently published to the Discord "Feedback Channel" covers a lot of ground, and over time we want to address all of the topics in that letter. CB is a game with a long history, an established player base, and economy. This means that some game mechanics are deeply ingrained and cannot be completely reworked without disrupting the intricate ecosystem and economy. Our approach is to gradually improve these aspects to avoid causing any shocks. In other aspects, we can take more immediate actions, such as balancing unit values, better community engagement, or enhancing the new player experience.
 
To help us in this endeavor, we have hired a new team of experts based in the US with extensive experience in game publishing and product management. This team will focus on developing the ex-MyGames regions of CB. This significant step demonstrates one of the ways we are increasing our commitment to improving the game, listening to the community, and enhancing the overall product.
Given the numerous topics mentioned in the community letter, we cannot address everything at once. Today, I will focus on the following areas:

Your Feedback makes a difference

Even before the reception of the community letter, and us crafting an initial response, I want to highlight the work our dev team has put in to fullfill requests from our community. Some highlights from the past 2 months:

  • Better balanced seasonal units

    • Sunward Phalanx has been universally received as well balanced and brining tactical depth to the battlefield

    • We focused on strength and weaknesses of this unit type and aimed to emulate their impact on the battlefield

  • Reward different playstyles

    • We now rewards MVP badges and points based on specific contributions during battle (Highest Support / Highest Damate / Highest Points / Highest Match Contribution)

    • You are now rewarded for playing defensively when necessary, capturing important points and switching up your tactics during battle

  • Make "Leadership Doctrine" (LDS) accessible to everyone

    • Now you can earn temporary and permanent LDS by simply playing the game

    • Reach levels 100, 300 and 500 to earn the much coveted Leadership Doctrine

    • A doctrine that required a lot of luck to obtain, is now available even for early stage players

    • Leveling the playing field to decrease the power gap between long time players and newer players

  • Introduced a new map this season

    • We are working on increasing map diversity with future updates even more

Community Engagement
We recently hired two new Community Managers, restarted our social media engagement, and launched our CBL tournament. We are investing in the game's ecosystem and ask for your patience as the new team members familiarize themselves with the environment. Please feel free to reach out to them with any issues.
 
As we are moving to communicate much closer with our community a key pillar for us is to be more transparent and interactive with you. We will institute monthly community surveys to gauge how we have been doing and how you are rating our progress in interacting with you. These results will then be published with recommendations on how we can improve.
 
We are also hiring a new part-time Community Manager to specifically manage our Territory War game mode for the EU & AM regions. If you know anyone or if you want to apply yourself, please reach out to the CMs on Discord!
 
We are hosting the Conqueror's Blade League, our e-sports competitive series, which hasn't run in over three years. This event aims to provide the community with a healthy competitive scene and engaging content, giving competitive players a goal to work towards. You can follow everything CBL HERE and watch the streams for the EU / AMS region HERE. Over the past few weeks we've had thousands of people tune in live, wither over 700ccv at the same time and an average of 500ccv over the course of 9(!) hours each sunday. This generated over 20,000 watch hours just on our channel, which is a record for us. The interest is there and CBL is an important part of our ecosystem, which means it will also get some more attention on how we approach the "Ranked Mode" in general to make the playing field more even.
 
In addition to online events, we aim to improve our brand and community engagement through in-person industry events. Our first stop is Gamescom on August 25th in Cologne, Germany. New Player Marketing
We are heavily investing in attracting new players, and our efforts have just begun. We are now advertising the game across all major online platforms like Google and Meta. Expect to see more ads from us in the future!
 
We also recently launched a new creator partnerships program, providing our content creator community with a centralized place to manage their performance, communicate with us, and access content for their audiences. So far we have over 150 creators in our program and have engaged with 50 more that are new to Conquerors Blade, in order promote the game. This generatred thousands of new players already over the past 2 months and we are expanding this program continously.
 
Additionally, our creator partnerships team is launching paid campaigns to expose new audiences to CB and attract a larger player base. If you have any favorite streamers you'd like us to work with, please contact @confire on Discord. This is just the beginning.

Even while just building our foundation, we have already seen our efforts pay off and the daily active users have grown steadily in our European and American servers.
 
New Player Experience

  • Current Issues: We observed that previous guides failed to effectively teach key operations such as commanding corps, utilizing corps skills, and managing stiff controls. As a result, players struggled to learn and master these essential actions.

  • Upcoming Updates: To address this, we are introducing two new levels: "Battlefield Practice" and "Unit Exercise."

    • In Battlefield Practice, players will learn critical battlefield elements (e.g., supply points, ladders, deployable equipment) and basic mechanics of being a general in CB.

    • In Unit Exercise, players can freely experience all units and practice their skills with unit abilities.

    • These levels will be continuously expanded, and additional playable content will be developed in the near future.

  • Enhanced Guidance: We will implement guidance prompts during the novice period to help players better understand and interact with their units.

  • Launch Timeline: Released on the 8th of August 2024.

  • Community Guidance: A super important topic is also veteran guidance for new players. We absolutely appreciate your assistance in showing newbies around and act as guides together with us. If you have any ways, you think, we can implement an official buddy program. Do let us know.
Early Gameplay Experience

  • Current Issues: Some gameplay experiences lack fluency, such as the need to remain stationary for bandaging, with any movement interrupting the process. Additionally, certain specializations have imbalanced combat intensity during the novice period, with noticeable disparities in damage capabilities between new and experienced players.

  • Key Mechanisms: Like the phased charging effect of longbows, lack sufficient prompts and guidance.

  • Update Plan: Selected content will be updated within two to three weeks, with continuous optimization of the early gameplay experience. Significant changes will be implemented leading up to the next season.
Territory War

  • Player Feedback: Many players are eager to participate in the "Territory War" gameplay but are hindered by a lack of guidance and enforcement of rules.

  • Rulebook System: We will introduce a rulebook system to gradually clarify game rules during combat.

    • The first edition will cover the rules of "Territory War" online gameplay, simplifying the understanding of "Territory War" and territorial warfare.

    • Future editions will expand the content and include appropriate strategies. We welcome players to contribute to creating our rules and strategy system.

    • To compliment our rulebook or "Rules of Engagement", we want to know you opinion on certain proposed rules and what other rules you might find useful in "Territory War".

  • Hire a EU based Community Manager that enforces rulebook and works with community on the improvement of Territory War.

    • This is a part time role, ideal for students or those in the community who have some extra time they want to devote.

    • This is a paid contract role for 6 months, that requires in-depth knowledge of Conquerors Blade and Territory War.

    • The specific purpose is for this person to be the Game Master of TW in EU and AMS.

  • We also have our operations team on duty during TW to assist players who encounter issues or need immediate support to enforce the rules of TW.

  • Launch Timeline: The rulebook for "Territory War" gameplay is expected to be released this season. We are currently in the process of hiring a CM for Territory War. If you think you are the right person for this role, please reach out to
Balance

  • Current Issues: Heavy armor is too dominant (>50% of classes) and especially the Sword & Shield class is too commonly encountered on the battlefield. New seasonal T5 units are too strong and skew the balance of the game.

    • Heavy Armor: Currently, there are balance issues, particularly with sword and shield generals, which account for over 20% of the total appearance rate. We are adjusting the values of the Longsword & Shield class to reflect a more appropriate balance on the battlefield.

    • Long-Range Classes: Some long-range classes that have been weak for an extended period will be buffed and reintroduced.

    • Infantry Balance: Men-At-Arms are currently the meta and we aim to have a usable unit pool that is more diverse. Currently >10% of all Small Shield unit picks are Men-At-Arms. We are aiming to balance this by buffing other units and adjusting values for the Men-At-Arms. Balancing infantry units also means we are targeting the heavy armor / sword & shield meta, as these are often the best option to surive in combat.

      • An example of a unit that is severely underutilized in the same category is the Silahdar, which barely ever gets picked. We will dramatically buff this unit in order to see how it changes the overall utility of such a unit in the ecosystem.

    • Seasonal T5 Unit (S19): The balance of the S19 season unit is far better than any previous season and we have received plenty of positive feedback. Our aim is to introduce more units that are well received for the gameplay and bring extra tactical depth to the gameplay.

    • More on the specific values and affected abilities / attributes will follow in our balancing update in about 4 weeks from now.

Warlords and developers came together for an evening of camaraderie, friendly matches, and insightful discussions. Let’s dive into the highlights of this epic gathering!

At the Feast, our warlords had the chance to explore a variety of uniqu armor sets. Some were exquisite models for striking photos, while others were genuine armor pieces available for everyone to try on. Additionally, we urge everyone of you to bring your armor sets to show your favorite styles!





In addition! There were Coser dressed as Modao and Shenji Grenadiers on the scene, as well as the beautiful Scorpio and Greek Coser!
 

 
Face-to-Face with the Devs
We are excited to announce an upcoming event where several of CB’s developers will join warlords on the battlefield. No topic was off-limits—whether it's about Doctrine, Mastery, or Balance. We consider it a true honor that warlords are making the special effort to meet us in person and engage in meaningful discussions.
 

 
Late into the night, warlords and devs engaged in lively conversations. Producer Lao Wang shared insights into the team’s efforts and outlined exciting future plans for Conqueror’s Blade. As a result, we’ll be motivated to meet with everyone more often.
 

 
Let’s game and party together!
The carnival atmosphere buzzed with energy as ten computers hosted intense siege battles. Warlords, both online and in person, strategized, clashed, and analyzed tactics. Cheers erupted as players witnessed epic clashes unfold. Everyone was swept up in the thrill of the battle, cheering and shouting for the players on both sides!

  • Reduce defense increase of [Pious] in the first 3s after the skill is used from 50% to 25%;

  • Reduce defense increase of following [Unswerving] effect from 20% to 10%;

    [Mercy of Heaven III]:

  • Increase the damage of [Sideways Sweep] and [Deathstrike] (including [Deathstrike] released under [Get Over Here]) by 30%

  • Increase Minimum Damage Rate of [Deathstrike] (including [Deathstrike] released under [Get Over Here]) from 0.1 to 0.2

  • [Deathstrike] (including [Deathstrike] released under [Get Over Here]) deals extra damage on charging enermies.

  • Increase the number of enemies each basic attack can hit by 1
    Prefecture Pikemen

  • Charge's maximum target + 1
    Psiloi Slingers

  • Reduce Leadership from 100 to 80
    Men-at-Arms

  • Increase Leadership from 215 to 235

  • Reduce the charging damage to heroes by 50% when covering commander

  After this maintenance, warlords having logged in during the [Alexander] season will receive the [Men-at-Arms] Mastery reset item via mail. Please log in to claim after maintenance at earliest convenience.

2. Ranked Battle Adjustments

[Ranked Battles], as the core gameplay of Conqueror's Blade, has always been the arena where many warlords truly shine. Through the qualifiers of the CBL event this time, we've noticed that the sheer joy of combat might be overshadowed by the current rank settlement mechanism. Therefore, taking into account your feedback and drawing inspiration from numerous other ranking systems in our game, we are fine-tuning the means of settlement for [Ranked Battles] this season.
Before: Rewards for the [Ranked Battle] Season were based on the rank at the time of settlement.
After: Rewards for the season will now be based on the highest rank achieved during the current Ranked Battle Season.
This adjustment aims to offer all warlords a more down-to-earth set of combat rules. Under this framework, both rank rewards and the battle experience will receive a certain level of assurance.

3. NPC Entrance Adjustments

  (1) Warlords can now access the [Free Training Camp] through the [Master-at-Arms].
  (2) Warlords can now access the [Unit Training Camp] through the [Billeting Officer].




4. Rewards System
Optimized the process of acquiring rewards from [Surveys].

5. OB System
(1) In the OB mode, observers can now quickly switch positions by clicking on the mini-map in the bottom right corner. An overhead view from 20 meters above the ground will be presented.
(2) In the OB mode, some display issues such as overlapping icons of heroes and units are solved.
 
III. Bug Fixed and Optimizations

  • [Archer Infantry] and [Crossbow Infantry] will be unable to use the [Double Strings] and [Double Shot] skills in melee mode.

  • Fixed the issue where bringing [Claymores] may cause server lagging.

  • Fixed the issue where the actual effect of bleed duration increase of [Namkhan Archers] was not matched with its description.

  • Optimized the projectile trajectory of [Siphonarioi]'s flame jet and fixed the issue where attacking targets too close would cause abnormal attack range.

  • Fixed the issue where the loading of [Musket] could be interrupted by minor terrain elevation differences.

  • Fixed the issue where heroes might not be able to use skills after [Artiliery Takeover].

  • Fixed the potential issues about the selection interface of the server line.

  • Fixed the abnormal display of text information in the [N] - [Imperial Restorationists] interface.

  • Fixed abnormal display of limited-time titles in [Ranked Battles].

  • Optimized the displaying logic of task-tracking bar.

Recently, we've received a wealth of feedback from warlords about novice stage. Thanks to your precious feedback, we've recognized the need for significant improvements to enhance the novice experience for our warlords.

Therefore, following this update, we have optimized and enhanced certain aspects of the novice system, with more optimization planned based on community feedback and backend data.

Specific optimizations for the novice stage include:

  1. More guidance and prompts for controlling and interacting with heroes and units in the novice stage;
 







 
  2. All-new Free Training Camp where you can freely wield various weapons and deploy different siege engines and artillery for battlefield practice;






  3. All-new Unit Training Camp where you can command all units and experience the thrill of crushing enemies beforehand;





  4. Enhancements made to the music ambiance at Eagle Pass, with added sound effects for soldiers when hit, to elevate the overall battlefield experience;
  5. One more common-quality horse given to new characters;

We will conduct maintenance updates from 07:00-10:00 on August 8st (UTC+1). The maintenance is expected to last for 3 hours. After the maintenance, we will distribute Bronze Coins*8000, Honor*300, and Unit Medal*15 as compensation. Warlords, please arrange your play time accordingly.
The update will contain the following:
 
I. Events
1. The Legendary [Maul] Attire - [Flame of Nemean lion] Appearance Upgraded!
Adjusted the size of [Flame of Nemean lion]'s maul head to optimize its visual performance.




2. The limited-time discount for unlocking [Maul] ended.
The Pay-off cost for each quest in

- [Skills] - [Maul] unlocking challenge has been restored to 100 Sovereigns.

II. Adjustments and Optimizations
1. Systems
[Battle System]
1) Fixed the issue where the weapons of the players forced out of artillery may disappear.
2) Optimized the display of unit icons in battles, providing real-time unit distance and position.
3) Fixed the issue where players using the legendary [Maul] attire - [Flame of Nemean lion] can not use skills after changing weapons in battles.
4) Fixed the display issue of attacker and defender information in the Battle Record.

[Item System]
1) Optimized the prompt when the number of listed items on the Market reached a maximum.


2) Fixed the issue where two options of bound and unbound artillery would appear when players searched for artillery on the Market.
3) Added acquisition method in the event item description.
4) Fixed the issue causing error prompts when players reforged equipment with a full inventory.

[About the [/b]Novice]
1) Fixed the issue that prevented the Weekly Quests of [Flush with Cash] and [Rolling in Dough] from being completed in the Novice Server.
 
III. Bug Fixed and Optimizations
1) Changed the Camera Speed adjustment method into using the [shift] + [mouse wheel] in OB
perspective.
2) Fixed the issue where [the Chain Dart & Scimitar] heroes might not be displayed in the deployment and loading interfaces in the OB perspective.
3) Fixed the issue where the remaining Trebuchet shots were displayed as 0 incorrectly in the OB perspective.
4) Fixed the issue of the free view in [the Hidden City] from the OB perspective.
5) Fixed the issue where hiding the UI and restoring it would incorrectly reset the camera speed in OB perspective.
6) Fixed the issue where the borders of the non-primary unit's Mastery were not displayed in the deployment interface in OB perspective.
7) Fixed the issue where the burning state of the [Serfs] cannot be removed in certain situations.
8) Fixed the issue where the specific value of the recovery effect of Healing Herbs of the [Serfs] was not displayed.
9) Fixed the issue where the node of reducing food consumption in Veterancy for [Serfs] was not taking effect.
10) Optimized the trajectory of [Retiarii]'s Javelin throw to be more linear, and fixed the issue where javelins would disappear prematurely during long-range attacks.
11) Fixed the issue where [Sunward Phalanx] experienced damage loss during [Free Attack] states.
12) Fixed the display issue of the icon and skill description of [Matchlock Ashigaru]'s [Volley] skill on the page.
13) Fixed the inconsistency between the selected spawn point and the actual one for the defending side on the [Hidden City] map.
14) Fixed the abnormal display of Siege Engines for the attacking side on the [Hidden City] map.
15) Fixed the incorrect descriptions for unit defeat quests in the Seasonal Weekly Challenges.
