Conqueror's Blade - Kaeden
When Conqueror’s Blade: Eternal launches on February 23, so too will the Artificer's Forge! This new system will allow you to reforge equipment and upgrade it using a new item: the Artificer's Stone.

The Quest for Leadership

Leadership continues to be the most popular attribute that players try to stack on their armour pieces. While Leadership enables you to bring more Units into battle to counter any foe you may come up against, it also makes it more difficult to gain increased survival attributes like Health and Defence. This makes it difficult to raise your survivability with equipment, plus, this quest for Leadership greatly detracts from the enjoyment of forging itself.

To remedy this, we're launching the Artificer's Forge, a system where you can have your cake and eat it too!

New System: Artificer's Forge

Reforging will enable you to upgrade the equipment you forge. With reforging, your equipment will retain its set effects while giving you better odds of upgrading its attributes or even gaining completely new affixes. Reforging will reset the equipment's endurance.

Locking Key Attributes

Some of you may wonder: "but won't that just destroy the Leadership equipment I've worked so hard to gather?"

To prevent this, we've added the ability to lock attributes. You can choose to lock certain attributes during reforging, preventing these from being altered in the process. You'll also get to choose whether to keep your previous unlocked attributes or change to the new ones after a reforge. This enables you to try for better and higher attributes without having to worry about losing what you've worked so hard to get.

For example: If you have a piece of equipment with +25 Leadership, you can lock it and reforge it and still retain that +25 Leadership.

Effort is Always Rewarded

There are always those who get nothing but Rare and Epic weapons even after forging ten times and may be frustrated about not receiving Legendaries.

We've reworked the reforging algorithm to remedy this very issue. If a reforging results in a Rare or Epic quality product, the chance for your next reforging to become Legendary increases. This chance continues to increase until you create a Legendary quality product.

The results of each reforging will be shown right there in the menu. This gives you a clear view of the chance for each possible outcome right from the get-go.

Reforging Materials

Reforging will require Artificer's Stones, which you can acquire from Matchmaking Battles, Territory Wars, Events, progressing through the Battle Pass, and by donating resources to the Fame Envoy.

We're not scrapping previously used Hero Materials either. We've added drops of these to the aforementioned content (such as Territory Wars), giving you the means to further upgrade your equipment no matter what you enjoy doing in the game.

We'll continue to adjust this system in our quest to further improve playability.

Prepare for Conqueror’s Blade: Eternal, coming as a free update on February 23!

Conqueror's Blade - Kaeden
In the world of Conqueror's Blade where battles are mainly fought steel against steel and mano a mano, firearms can easily turn the tide of combat.

Artillery allows for greater possibilities in every battle. On each map, you command your Units and steer your Hero through battle, while also considering the strategic ramifications of Artillery. In some battles, choosing and using the correct Artillery may well be what ultimately decides the result. As it can cause great effect, Artillery has naturally been a focal point for our players and we have kept an eye on the enjoyment and balance of these powerful weapons.

All-New Artillery
With the launch of Conqueror’s Blade: Eternal, we're adding a new type of Artillery to the game—the Divine Crow. Our goal is for this Ancient Chinese weapon of war to bring about renewed vitality for Artillery in the battles ahead.

The Divine Crow in History
Invented during the Ming dynasty, the Divine Crow was the first winged rocket featuring multiple tubes filled with gunpowder. Based on the book ‘Huolongjing’ from the 14th century, the Divine Crow was made from bamboo, reeds, and cotton. It was shaped like a crow, and its belly was filled with gunpowder. The four fuses on its back were connected to the four tubes beneath its belly. To launch it, one simply lit the four fuses to propel the crow forward. Upon reaching its destination, flames would engulf its belly and ignite the gunpowder stored within, creating a great fiery explosion that burned the target down. With the use of multiple tubes to push it forward and its supporting wings, it could hit targets hundreds of meters away. It was thus capable of hitting targets behind walls or even in the back of the enemy's lines.

The Divine Crow in Conqueror's Blade
In Conqueror's Blade, the Divine Crow will become an important tool in your arsenal capable of causing devastating damage in a variety of scenarios. A single Divine Crow strike can create multiple explosions that deal lasting burn damage. All in all, it deals fairly high damage and lets you exact control in a fairly big area. If set up ahead of time, it can be used to deal sustained damage and gain dominance over enemies in tight formations. Use it correctly and you can create openings for your own forces and more easily deal with tight groups of enemies.

Epic & Legendary Rarities

The Divine Crow comes in two rarities: Epic and Legendary. Each rarity features a unique appearance and damage profile. However, it will only be available in Epic rarity for the time being. As we continue to gather data and observe how it fares in combat, we will decide later on when to make the Legendary version available. But rest assured, you'll be able to test out both rarities from the get-go, as we'll be adding them to select maps.

New PvE Challenge

We're adding an all-new PvE challenge to the World Map that you can challenge a limited number of times each week. Rise to the challenge to find unbound Epic Divine Crows!

Unit Sharing Rewards

Rewards from sharing units with your House or Imperial Restorationists have a chance to grant Epic Divine Crows. As they say, sharing is caring!

Territory War Report Rewards

Territory War report rewards will have a chance to grant Epic Divine Crows.

The Divine Crow will aim to arrive in Conqueror’s Blade in mid-March.

Conqueror's Blade - Kaeden
Three Seasonal Units inspired by Ancient Chinese legendary heroes are coming to Conqueror’s Blade: Eternal when the update arrives on February 23

Today, we meet the first of these new Units: Wuxing Pikemen (3-Star).

The Wuxing Pikemen are inspired by the fire lance (or spear), an Ancient Chinese weapon. This bamboo tube and gunpowder combo would ignite to create a fiery explosion and launch a stream of flames at the enemy.

Sometimes known as the "Fire Pike Militia" but more commonly known as the Wuxing Pikemen, this close assault Unit carries the fire pike and comes equipped with scorching skills. Their weapon is designed to cause maximum distress to the enemy at point-blank range and is able to cause burn damage over a wide area. ‘Wuxing’ refers to the "five elements" of classical philosophy: wood, metal, and fire for the Unit's weapons, and earth and water for the mud beneath their relentless marches.

Get ready to toast the battlefield with this red-hot corps! Recruit the Wuxing Pikemen by completing new Unit Challenges in Conqueror’s Blade: Eternal on February 23.

Conqueror's Blade - Kaeden
Siege Battles offer a perfect blend of both matchmaking and Territory Wars, and their experience and immersion are what have enabled us to accomplish as much as we have with Conqueror’s Blade. We've received plenty of feedback and used this to improve current maps, release new ones, and design new events and modes to keep the experience fresh.

Siege Battles have been with us for years and have stood the test of time, but that doesn’t mean there isn’t still work to do. Thanks to your feedback, we know that we must make more fundamental changes to help Siege Battles remain fun in the long run, and truly tap into more of the potential the mode holds.
The Core of Siege Battles
A staple of Siege has always been that you choose your units before the battle begins. You might make an informed choice based on what map you're playing, and whether you're playing as the attacker or defender. Once made, you cannot change your choice for this match.

This integral ruleset has created a few unique setups.

Unit Setup & Strategic Stagnation

Being unable to tell which Units the enemy will be bringing to the fray means most players rely on past experience and tend to favour meta Units that are expected to perform well. Over time, this has led to stagnation in terms of Unit and strategy variety. One player may even play dozens of matches with the exact same setup, which detracts from the fun over the long run.

High Teamwork Requirements

As each player can only bring a limited number of Units, the 10–15 players of each team must quickly begin to cooperate in terms of Unit selection and strategy. How else will they ensure to have the Units required to counter the enemy's forces and win?

Little In-Match Strategising

As your Unit options are limited to what you chose before the match, it's difficult to adjust your strategy based on the situation. This has made battles inflexible and lacking in intensity. Most players go for the 'best' Unit setup ahead of time, something which largely decides the outcome of a match before the battle has already begun. Perhaps you’ve experienced the enemy suddenly charging a point of interest with a squadron of heavy cavalry in a match where you didn't bring any polearm Units to counter them. Things like that immediately put you and your team at a huge disadvantage.
How Can We Improve Variety?
For these experimental changes, we've decided to start by looking at our rules for Units. We want players to be freer in terms of Unit choices for more varied setups.

Owing to this, we've decided to launch a brand-new Siege mode: Escalation.
Escalation (Siege)
In Escalation, you can replace your Units at any time throughout a match! Within this new ruleset, the strategic choice of which Units to use will be an integral part of the battle itself. This will give you more means with which to counter your foe on the fly for more intense battles.

Escalation Unit Ruleset
  1. You only need to choose one Unit to start with in the Pre-Deployment menu.
  2. Whenever you draft Units in battle, you can choose among all of your unlocked Units.
  3. Leadership
  • Each Unit you draft costs Leadership.
  • Drafting Units you've previously used in that match doesn't require any Leadership. (Note: you'll draft the number of troops left alive in the Unit and enough troops must remain within a Unit for you to draft them again.)
  • Leadership isn't affected by seasonal restrictions.

Escalation's First Map Pool

Harbour City, Kurak Castle, Sun City, White Elk Fort, Heilung Fjord, and Reginopolis.
The Future
Escalation is only our first step toward greater heights. We'll continue to improve and innovate the rules for Siege Battles and hopefully changes like this one will fundamentally alter how such battles are played and will lead to more fun for everyone. We'll still continue to work on the staple Siege Battle mode too!

We want Conqueror's Blade to provide new and fun gameplay experiences. Your feedback is incredibly important for us in our quest to improve the game further. Your ideas might well be what helps us set the course for where to take the game next. Share your thoughts with us via Discord!
