Weapon and armour customisation is coming to Conqueror’s Blade! Known as the Rune System, it will be introduced as part of Season VII: Wolves of Ragnarok on March 18!
HISTORY OF RUNES
Runes were not actively used as a means of written communication for Viking peoples, who instead often told stories orally. The word ‘rune’ stems from the Germanic root run- which means a secret or whisper, a nod to their development and use as a language tool by high-ranking Vikings. As such, runestones were often created in commemoration of deeds or people of great importance, and many of them can still be found throughout Scandinavia to this day.
The 26 Ingvar runestones in Sweden are a famous example, erected in memory of the ill-fated Caspian voyage of Ingvar the Far-Travelled. Another famous rune is still in common use around the world, too: the Bluetooth symbol combines the runic initials of Harold Bluetooth (ᚼ and ᛒ), a King of Denmark who united the Danes and brought Christianity to his once-pagan kingdom.
RUNES IN CONQUEROR’S BLADE
Once unlocked, you can apply Runes to your warlord's weapons, helmet and armour, with each bestowing a unique bonus to attributes such as Health, or augmenting various attack or defence stats or abilities. Unlike Weapon Skills, Rune effects are passive, but by mixing them up you can create unique warrior builds that better reflect your personal playing style.
There are two ways to access the Runes interface:
Navigate to the Seasonal Interface (press F5) and select the new Seasonal Runes tab.
Press P to bring up the Character Screen and click the Rune icon underneath any equipped item.
Runes come in different types and grades and are unlocked in accordance with your seasonal level. The more levels you unlock during the course of the season, the more Runes you will have access to. Similarly, when levels are reset at the end of a season, Runes become unavailable.
Runes have to be applied to the correct type of equipment (weapon, armour or helm), with each item able to accommodate a maximum of three Runes. Each Rune has a Rune Power requirement, depending on its grade. The higher the grade, the more Rune Power is required to ‘equip’ the Rune. Each item can accommodate Runes with a total Rune Power value of six (for example, you can equip 1 Legendary with 1 Rare, or 2 Epic, or 3 Rare).
Rune Types
Rune Grades
Common
Can be equipped on either Helm, Weapon or Armour.
Legendary
Requires 4 Rune Power
Weapon
Can only be equipped on specific Weapon types.
Epic
Requires 3 Rune Power
Helm
Can be only equipped on Helmets.
Rare
Requires 2 Rune Power
Armour
Can only be equipped on Armour (chest piece).
Uncommon
Requires 1 Rune Power
Runes are not physical items and therefore are not consumed when removed or replaced. However, they can only be applied to active weapon and armour items. If you want to see which Runes you have unlocked among all those currently available, click the distinct “four square” icon on any applicable screen.

It's the final weekend before the release of Season VII: Wolves of Ragnarok! To help prepare your troops, we are boosting Bronze income from matchmaking battles by 30% until midnight server time on March 15.
Used to patch up units, acquire resources, and improve siege capabilities, Bronze is something you can never have too much of in Conqueror’s Blade. You can sometimes have too little though, which we’re here to help with over the new few days!
Avatars are coming to Season VII: Wolves of Ragnarok! What are Avatars, you ask? They are the new profile-style pictures that will represent you in any on-screen communication or feedback, in the same way that your 3D character represents you in the game world. Examples of where your Avatar will be displayed include battle notifications, match lineups and leaderboards, as well as your Character screen, where Avatars will be displayed next to your name and level.
Just like your 3D representation, your 2D self can be one of potentially hundreds of image combinations, based on your in-game exploits and activities. The more classes and units you level up, the more attires you acquire and the more ranks, levels and achievements you unlock, the more Avatars you can select from.
In addition to your main Avatar picture, you can also choose a frame to show it off so that you look your imperious best. Everyone can have a plain square frame, but only the most celebrated warlords can expect a frame that befits their achievements as champions and high-ranking officers.
There will be a special set of Avatars exclusive to Season VII, so be sure to keep a lookout for new profile pictures as not all of them will be available to claim forever! From time to time, we may even invite you to design new avatars that might one day be added to the game, so that others can use your art to represent themselves. In fact, watch this space!
After much hyperbole and ceaseless training on both sides of the community divide, the epic battle between Content Creators and MY.GAMES is ready to go ahead. The bout will be a best-of-three, played out across the battlements of the Conqueror’s City, and it will be glorious!
Hosted by a strictly bipartisan Zimster via the Official Conqueror’s Blade Twitch Channel, the preamble will begin at 19:30 CET, March 11, with team leader interviews and the first battle scheduled to get underway at 20:00 CET. Chats with the winners of each round will follow, with a tactical recap at the end, when the Clash victors will be crowned and much merriment will be shared. It promises to be a spectacular, fun and good-natured event, so be sure you have a ringside seat when battle is joined!
‘I play ukulele! I've been musically inclined since my teens playing in marching band. I played in the drumline and we won the State Indoor Drumlline Championship three years in a row! We won 1st place in the Mardi Gras Parade one year, too!’
In the mid 80s mouflon came second in the Donkey Kong Nintendo internationals - he was also one of the first recorded gamers to reach level 100 in Bubble Bubble when the game was released.

In advance of the Shieldmaidens and Berserkers soon to be let loose upon Season VII: Wolves of Ragnarok, the Sons of Fenrir furtively stalk the land in ahead of the main attack. Inspired by the Viking acolytes that worshipped the cult of the monstrous wolf-god Fenrisúlfr, what these skirmishers lack in frenzied raw power they make up for with feral agility and breathtaking bursts of speed. It is the only warrior unit in the known world thought able to defeat an enemy head-on by planting an axe in its back!
In Norse mythology, Fenrir was a wolf sired by Loki and the giantess Angrboða. Shackled by the gods who feared what it would become, still it grew to an enormous size, broke its bonds, and brought Ragnarok upon the Æsir. Völuspá, featured in the Poetic Edda, is a prophecy told to Odin by a völva (seeress) of his eventual demise at the claws of this great beast. The Sons of Fenrir pay homage to Fenrisúlfr by adopting the outward appearance and mannerisms of wolves by wearing their pelts. Some even use the hollowed-out skull of the animal as a mask while retaining its bloodied and matted scalp as a hood.
As well as providing warmth in the frozen northern climes, evidence from throughout history suggests that the wearing of full animal hides was mostly ceremonial in nature - after all, the worshipping of animals to such extremes was more akin to a cult than of the religious mainstream.
However, the practice of adopting the full form of an animal also provided a unique form of camouflage. A warrior in the mind of the wolf was able to move quickly through low cover, often revealing only the head to suggest to an enemy that a deadly predator was stalking its prey. The unit could then silently surround an enemy, before closing in for the kill. Needless to say that after a successful hunt, it was common among some tribes for the quarry to be consumed as a part of a ritual, one that conveniently served to enhance the bloodthirsty reputation of the wolf-obsessed warriors among allies as much as enemies.
[ART]
Completing the trio of Norse-inspired units coming to Season VII, the Sons of Fenrir add fanaticism and cunning to the Northmen’s arsenal, being able not only to spot for and provide support for heavier units but effectively substitute for them as well.
The unit is agile enough to avoid most entanglements due to its speed but is also able to reduce the effectiveness of incoming ranged attacks by rearranging into a Dispersed formation. This can be combined with a skill that allows the Sons of Fenrir to maintain its movement speed while reducing piercing damage even further.
But it’s the unique method employed to engage with an enemy that is more characteristic of the unit, more than any effort to maintain distance from it. A perfectly-timed leap allows the Sons of Fenrir to scramble over the front ranks of the enemy, whereupon the unit can summon itself to tear into the heart of the enemy with a primal, beast-like fervour. Were there anyone left standing to tell testament of such an assault, it would truly be a bloody sight to behold
