To become a great general you have to be a master strategist and tactician, but before then you have to be effective on the field of battle as a combatant in your chosen class. In a series of guides in the days and weeks ahead, we’re going to look at some of the classes that will feature Conqueror’s Blade, so you can think about how you want to approach the game when starting out.



There are two important things to bear in mind regarding classes. The obvious one is that they are subject to a great deal of change between now and when Conqueror’s Blade launches later in the year. The other is that it’s useful to think of them as weapon specialisations rather than traditional character classes, in that you’re not necessarily locked into a single class for the entire life of your character.



You may choose to start with a ranged weapon, for example, but may want to add another string to your bow, so to speak, by acquiring the means to be able to engage in close encounters. As you become more experienced you can branch out to other weapons and become a more versatile presence on the battlefield. Or, you may prefer to remain focused on one weapon, perfecting your art and acquiring ever more effective weapons for your chosen class.   



Obviously the classes won’t deviate much from historical reality and are designed to overlap sufficiently the Venn diagrams of DPS/tank, melee/range and solo/crowd control. In addition, each class will have abilities that will allow them to engage the enemy outside of their respective archetypes. For example, sword and shield characters, as well as able to deflect incoming damage, can make use of devastating shield charges and sweeping sword attacks in order to break a stout defence.



Then there is the aspect of how armies will be composed and how generals will work together. A musketeer may fear being charged by a nodachi-wielding warrior, for obvious reasons, but with one or two generals supporting their wavering comrade with bows, the outlook of one single encounter and how it feeds the narrative of an ongoing war might quickly change for all concerned.

We have been granted a special audience at gamescom with one of the leading creative minds behind Conqueror’s Blade, who is keen to address your questions about the game as it prepares to take on the world.

In preparation for this historic meeting (the first of many community Q&As with members of the production and development teams), we need questions worthy of Booming Games’ time - on matters of vision and scale, perhaps, or current and future feature design.

Don’t forget there is an evolving FAQ that may already have the answers you seek, and we’re working on detailing the playable classes over the next few weeks. However, if you have a question related to, say, artillery, special combat moves, or open world kingdoms, you can add them to the growing list here.

Be aware that time is short and we must stop accepting your questions on August 19, 23:59 CEST (03:00 p.m. PDT), after which we will select the very best and present them to our allies. We will report their answers back to you with all haste - assuming that the road from Germany is free of raiding parties.

We're incredibly excited to be headed to gamescom this year, especially as we'll be showing off Conqueror's Blade for the first time and offering exclusive hands-on time with what shaping up to be a contender for one of the games of the year!

To add to the authenticity, we're insisting that they not wash between now and when the show ends on August 25. (Not really, but we should.)



The gamescom gates will swing open for the media on August 21, and on the next day for the repressed masses.   A user may not organize, effectuate or participate in any activity, group, guild that is harmful, abusive, hateful, racially, ethnically, religiously or otherwise offensive, obscene, threatening, bullying, vulgar, sexually explicit, defamatory, infringing, invasive of personal privacy or publicity rights, encourages conduct that would violate a law or in a reasonable person's view, objectionable and/or inappropriate.

  Hate speech and the use of vulgar/explicit language is not tolerated.

  A user may not use abusive, offensive, or defamatory screen names and/or personas.
• 
  A user may not engage in disruptive behavior in this server. Disruptive behavior includes but is not limited to commercial postings, solicitations and advertisements.

  A user may not disrupt the flow of discussions with vulgar language, abusiveness, hitting the return key repeatedly or inputting large images so the screen becomes unreadable, use of excessive shouting [all caps] in an attempt to disturb other users, "spamming" or flooding [posting repetitive text]. Please note that using asterisks, characters, or alternative spelling to bypass the word filter is considered to be the same as posting the actual profanity.

  A user may not impersonate another person (including celebrities), indicate falsely that you are an My.com employee or a representative of My.com, Mail.ru or Booming Games.

On Topic Discussion
The My.com staff and Moderators reserves the right to Delete Messages, or Kick/Ban users if they:

  Are not posted in the correct channel.
• 
  Are not relevant to the topic being discussed.

  Are not related to the channel topic.
• 
  Are duplicates of existing post/topic.

 

Spam
Spamming is not tolerated in this server. Spamming includes posting the same message multiple times in a channel, repeatedly posting on the same topic in different channels, posting the same message in multiple channels, or posting repeatedly without actually contributing to a topic.


Multiple Accounts
A forum user may not create and/or use multiple accounts. If a second account is used to get around a disciplinary actions taken against their account that account will be permanently banned. If you have an inquiry about a suspension or ban, you can contact a member of the forum staff via private message for assistance, however, please note that staff will not give your account information about an account that does not belong to you.
 

Moderators and Staff
Moderators are volunteers who are donating their valuable personal time helping out on the server and fellow members of the community. They are fans of Conqueror's Blade just like you and are on Discord to have a good time. It's important to note that they have the ability to delete messages, and kick/ban users if they deem it necessary. Moderators are recruited - this means that there is no way to 'apply' to become a moderator. If you have any questions and/or concerns about a moderator please contact a Moderator or My.com Staff member.

Use your own judgement having all above mentioned in mind and be aware that in some cases moderation may step in and act.

You and only you are responsible for your actions and posted content on the My.com Community Discord. There is never a reason for violating the My.com Community Discord Code of Conduct. In short, treat people the way you'd like to be treated. Keep this server rated E for everyone and have a good time!
