Conqueror's Blade - Kaeden
Dimachaeri are powerful gladiators who wield two swords to bring the fight directly to their opponents. Unlock these born fighters in Conqueror’s Blade: Colosseum today via new Unit Challenges!

Unlocking
The Dimachaeri can be unlocked by completing Seasonal Unit Challenges, and come with a Seasonal Bonus in the form of Leadership requirements decreased by 10 points for the duration of the Season.
Background
The Dimachaeri are gladiators deemed to be a crucial component of the Colosseum. They delight the baying crowds with their keen swordsmanship and battle techniques.

Able to use their straight blade and siccae swords to bash enemy shields aside before launching into a furious unblockable attack that dazes their foes, these gladiators are not to be trifled with.
Strengths & Weaknesses
This unit knows how to handle a fight like a pro, having spent enough time in the Colosseum honing an effective fighting style. Their attacks are mostly offensive, but they can also employ an acrobatic-style retreat to create distance between themselves and any pesky foe who dares to enter their zone.

The Dimachaeri do not possess shields, and are therefore exposed in ways the Myrmillones—their gladiator peers—are not. Defence is not their strong suit; they are best deployed for frontal assaults rather than holding areas or defending their leader.

Just the facts: Dimachaeri (3-Star)
Formations
  • Dispersed: The unit spreads out to avoid the effects of ranged attacks and artillery.
  • Hawk: The gladiators arrange themselves in a formation useful for launching a concentrated attack.
Unit Traits
  • Bread & Circuses: Leadership cost is reduced by 10 points while the Colosseum Season is active.
  • Nimble: Will quickly back away after attacking and maintain their distance from the enemy.
  • Bypass Block: Siccae swords can go around shields and deal damage that ignores Block. When using normal attacks, there is a chance the units will use its siccae sword.
Unit Orders
  • Siccae Lunge: Dimachaeri quickly unleash two unblockable siccae sword stabs, then pull back to maintain their distance.
  • Siccae Torrent: Upon engaging the enemy, Dimachaeri lunge at the enemy and unleash a powerful attack that deals a relatively large amount of damage and inflicts Dazed on soldiers. Afterwards, they unleash multiple powerful strikes.
The Dimachaeri are now available to unlock via Unit Challenges!

Conqueror's Blade - Kaeden
A new Emperor sits on the throne in Reginopolis, and peace reigns in the Queen of Cities. Emperor Hadrianus inherited his rule from his father, the Sultan, and rules with a soft touch. As unrest and dissatisfaction among his subjects grows, so too does his eagerness to gain favour among his subjects through entertainment rather than intimidation.

Having ordered the restoration of the Colosseum and declared the return of the Gladiator Games, a bloodsport that once entertained the people of the ancient Aquiline Empire, his subjects rejoice in spectating the most brutal sport known to man.

Heroes step up to the plate to fight the best of the best in the Gladiator Games, and warriors from distant lands take up arms. As crowds rush to the fortress city to witness these future champions clash in brutal melee battles, shadowy forces conspire to move against the Emperor.

Vengeful scheming from a shifty conspirator and an unseen uprising fester beneath the surface of the fortress city, and the Emperor’s grip over Reginopolis is loosening by the day…

The story continues in the new Season’s Weekly Challenges and lore! Survive the Gladiator Games and rise to glory in Conqueror’s Blade: Colosseum when it arrives as a free update on September 1.
Conqueror's Blade - Kaeden
Conqueror’s Blade: Colosseum launches on September 1 alongside a brand-new game mode: Colosseum! We’ve already looked at the gameplay you can expect from Colosseum, but now we want to enlighten you on development insights behind the design of the new mode, from current mechanics to future iterations of it.

Why 6v6?
Conqueror's Blade has always been a game with a focus on teamwork. Ranked Battles and the Conqueror’s Blade League (CBL) emphasise the importance of teamwork, but many players have told us that they want to be able to directly affect battles with greater room for personal performance.

Both Siege and Field battles are epic fights with 30 players, yet within these massive battles, smaller skirmishes can be just as memorable. We feel that Conqueror's Blade needs more diversified modes so that players have a greater chance to control the battle and show the strength of their hero.

Following several internal tests, we believe that a 6v6 mode serves to realise both of these objectives. We've added mechanics from Field Battles and tried to change up the rules a bit for more variety in the new Colosseum Mode. Hopefully, this will bring you a brand-new experience!
New Mechanics & Unpredictable Battles
The unpredictability of battle is an important factor in maintaining excitement and replayability. In traditional Siege battles, the most exciting part is when heroes contend for that final flag. In Field battles, it is the constant contention for points, and that the winner isn't decided until the very end. In the new Colosseum Mode, we want to combine the best parts of these modes to increase the unpredictability, speed, intensity, and competitiveness of battles.

Focusing on the performance of each player does not mean throwing teamwork aside. We've added three neutral NPC gladiators to Colosseum, and to defeat them, you must work with your allies. The three types of gladiators will make battles unpredictable and more goal-oriented. No matter how each player fares, everyone has the chance to slay the gladiators and turn the tide of battle. As a warrior of the Colosseum, your every contribution to victory is commendable and will be rewarded.

If you challenge and defeat the Colosseum champion, you'll win additional unit support and grow your power. Naturally, beware of enemy ambushes so that they do not snatch the advantage right before your eyes. The team that lags behind must work together to seize the chance to turn the tables.

As the gladiators join the battle, the fight will grow fiercer and more precarious.

It is important to fight tooth and nail for every resource in the ever-changing Colosseum. There's only one supply point and a single flag whose capture zone shrinks with time, while points deduct faster and faster. This means that every second matters and affects the final result. With these mechanics, teamfights will be more frequent, meaning each choice and action you take will have a greater overall impact.

Apart from adding neutral NPCs and a capture-the-flag mechanic, we've also added an audience and a commentator to add to the atmosphere and immersion based on the Season's story, and to bring you a more authentic Colosseum experience. When someone performs well, for example, if they kill a hero or earn a medal, the audience will cheer and shower them with praise.

We are looking forward to seeing your decision-making in the battles to come, as you seize every chance to defeat your enemy and make a greater impact on the outcome of a battle.

The Future of the Colosseum Mode
We've seen plenty of amazing ideas and feedback from the community, and we want to try something new with the Colosseum. We'll be focusing on your feedback as we progress from here and continue to work on the new mode, whether that’s its rules, NPC types and power, or the flag point. Colosseum Mode is here to stay, so we will continue to improve the gameplay and design over the seasons to come.

We'd love for the community to give us feedback throughout Conqueror’s Blade: Colosseum. Make your feelings and thoughts about Colosseum mode known via Discord!

Conqueror's Blade - Kaeden
Throughout more than three years since the launch of Conqueror's Blade, we've worked hard to add more and more content to the game, which naturally means that many in-game systems and menus have grown more complex. The in-game menus weren't initially designed for the game's current complexity, which can make them difficult to read and use at times.

To tackle this issue head-on, we're making a series of UI optimisations to improve the visuals and user experience, with the first of these improvements going live with the launch of the free Conqueror’s Blade: Colosseum update on September 1. This first update will focus on the most frequently used menus: Events [O], Matchmaking [J] and the Weekly Season Lores.
Event Menu [O]
The new menu will feature a flatter design to cover the whole screen so that each segment has more space. We've also made changes to the layout and interaction logic so that events and news are available in a more transparent manner.

This also means that information will load faster, making it possible to quickly read what you need to know, and allowing faster interaction with in-game events.

Matchmaking Menu [J]
As a core system of the game, the original Matchmaking menu had a lot of room for optimisation. We've reorganised game modes into clearer types to ensure all players can easily join battles.

We've also added a journal for limited-time events so that you can more easily see which events are available for the day or the week. We've also added Ranked Battles to its own menu so the rank rules and heroes’ rank will be more readily available.

Weekly Seasonal Lore
The original design of the Weekly Challenges menu didn’t meet our expectations, and very few players had been checking the weekly lore updates. We'll be changing the main page of the Season menu when Colosseum launches, with additional voiced narration, story images, and new challenges appearing here each week. This should make it easier to keep up-to-date with the story of the current Season while you're busy with your own adventures!

We want to improve the visuals of the UI and the experience of interacting with it over time with a series of further optimisations. As always, your feedback is incredibly important to us, so please feel free to share your ideas via Discord!
