We’re finishing the last preparations for the upcoming release of the update 0.1.7, which will have a huge impact on the mechanics of interaction with bases. Now you can equip your bases doors with a code lock. Ordinary doors, which are available for opening only to base owner, will be accessible for usage to any player, no matter if he’s the base owner or not. You can use them however you want.
Because of these changes in doors mechanics we’re forced to wipe bases, in order to not leave them unprotected for an unknown period of time after the update release. Wipe will also affect characters and their storages because some abilities to duplicate items were still there. These methods will not work after the update release. We hope for your understanding.
The update is scheduled to be released on June 25.
There are 2 things human can watch forever: fire burning and other people trying to figure out the code to your lock.
Dear friends, you asked us to improve the interaction between squads and bases and we did it – the next update will bring you the ability to create a new type of door that has a combination lock. You can set a code of any length you want! Your fantasy is limited only by 10 numeric characters. The base owner can change the code anytime.
And to help you feel the ambience of nights and evenings you can now sit by the fire accompanied by your friends. The Fire lives only limited amount of time and can be put out any moment.

Dear Deadsiders, there will be wipe of the character inventories, safe zone storages and all boxes soon after next update release due to fix of the bug, leading to items duplication. Bases themself will remain intact, except for those that were built in zones not designated for construction. Every container will be deleted too.
Friends, while our programmers are working on improving the performance of the game and problems with duplicates of items, the art department continues to increase the content. Many weapons samples are almost finished and we will gradually begin to introduce you to them.
Dear friends, it’s been almost a month since the launch of the game in early access. All this time we’ve been hard working to organize our future plans on supporting and further developing of the game. Today we want to reveal to you that we’re opening official test server. Every upcoming big update will be tested on separate server first, especially those that will consist of the changes for gameplay, netcode and other important mechanics of the game. It will allow us to minimize the possibility of an update to include new bugs along with a fix for the old ones. It will also allow us to collect each of your suggestion about upcoming update and make necessary adjustments before its release. And you will be able to directly affect the quality of the future update.
So how do you get into future server? That’s pretty simple. You’ll need to update the game to test version. In steam library you need to find Deadside, right click on it and choose «Properties». In the window that appears you go to Betas tab and here choose «testserver».
ATTENTION! Your game has to be closed while you’re doing this.
After you do that your game will update to the test version and you will be able to connect to the test server. It can be found in the list of the official servers and called «Official TestServer».
ATTENTION! In order to play the ordinary servers you will need to do the same thing, but in the Betas tab you choose «NONE – Opt out of all beta programs».

Since release of the game we’ve received a lot of feedback and suggestions. Now that the most crucial problems (like anti-cheat) have been fixed, we are ready to share with you our plans for the near future.
So here is what awaits you in the upcoming updates:
More bug fixing and optimization
Currently, we’re working on the fix for the potential ability to duplicate items and optimizing storage system in green zones which should significantly improve the server performance. In addition to that we’re developing the new network mechanism that should allow us to increase number of players on the server and implement game features such as vehicles.
New firearms and equipment models
You will see a new vest with inventory slots, few new assault rifles, machine gun and even grenade launcher!
New visual content
Not only we’re in process of improving diversity of existing villages, we’re also planning to add entirely new content with industrial areas and underground bunkers. Also, in order to add new points of interest, the current size of the map will be slightly expanded.
Game events
There’ll be plenty new missions with new rewards, helicopter crash sites and airdrops (cargo container that drops in the random place of the map)
Base interaction
We’re aware of the problems with managing base, while you’re in squad and we’re looking into different options of how to solve it. It might be code locks or perhaps we’ll decide to use other system.
Private server administration
We’re gathering your ideas and suggestions regarding this system and we can already say that one of the nearest updates will include the ability for admin panel to spawn items.
That was the list of our high priority tasks. Once more we want to mention that this is the plan for the near future and some things you will be able to see in May!
As for the long-term objectives we would like to focus on two points:
Vehicles
In current version size of the world isn’t that big and doesn’t imply the use of a vehicle, but we’re planning on adding it at the same time with significant map expansion. We can’t say exactly when it is going to happen, but we’ll start with developing vehicle mechanics, because it requires a lot of work and extensive testing.
Base raids
We understand that not everyone likes “classic” system of raiding bases when you can be robbed while not being in-game. That’s why we’re not even considering such a passive gameplay
So far, we have few concepts including key system we discussed on one of our streams. Regardless of the system chosen we will do our best to make it unique and interesting, so in the end it wouldn’t be “who have more explosives or lockpicks” gameplay.
