The Cloudfire team have been and are committed to getting player feedback early and often with Starport Delta. Armageddon Christchurch 2018 was the first time we had people playing the game, and that was after just a week of development! We've made it our mission to be at every Armageddon over the course of our development so far and engage with as many players as possible. We love getting feedback and hearing what people want to see in our games!
Two more days to go and still some tickets left, so if you're in the Auckland area, come say hi and play some great New Zealand-made games!
This week is a close up of an important building to manage your station in Starport Delta, the Repair Depot!
All of the buildings that form stations in Starport Delta degrade over time, and are at risk from space-borne dangers like meteor showers striking the station. Whenever a building has its structural integrity compromised enough, its effectiveness is reduced and it requires maintenance before operations are back to normal. Maintaining and repairing your buildings is an important part of managing a station. Early on, repairs can be conducted manually but as your station grows, it can be more effective to place repair depots around your station. Each depot sends out automated repair drones to maintain nearby buildings, ensuring your station residents have minimal or no interruption in service.
Will you stay hands on with your repairs, or design a station that focuses on automation? How do you build your starport?

This week is a close up of an important building to contribute to your station in Starport Delta, the Trade Hub!
The primary way that stations in Starport Delta grow economically in the early stages is through increasing your population for tax revenue. As you progress, you will unlock the ability to build Trade Hubs. These buildings allow you to make trade agreements with alien races that are willing to visit your station, which is particularly useful if you wish to focus your design on mining. In addition, Trade Hubs serve as evacuation shelters for the local community of station residents around them.
Will you design a station to focus on trade to meet more aliens, or stick to taxes? How do you build your starport?

This week is a profile of one of the visitors to your station in Starport Delta, the Alien Trade Ship!
There are a variety of alien races in the universe of Starport Delta, each with their own motivations and politics. Some of them are more than willing to trade with your stations, braving the dangers of space for a good deal if you have the right facilities to dock and negotiate... and of course, enough materials to offer! If your station has a mining-focused design, trade agreements with aliens can provide a viable economic alternative to relying on increasing your population for tax revenue. #marketshare #investinaliens
This particular ship is from one of the alien races which we will reveal more details about soon.
Built for mass disruption, the pirate juggernaut is flanked by huge swarms of smaller fighters making it a grave concern when one shows up at your station. Pirates are aggressive and relentless in their pursuit of acquiring your station’s resources and the juggernaut is no exception. The hull is reinforced, which makes destroying it a task for large amounts of firepower, so preparation for these monsters is key. While the juggernaut itself doesn’t attack directly, it is able to call in reinforcements and dispatch multiple replacement fighters upon their destruction.
