21 hours left to try out the free demo! We really hope that everyone has already played it but in case you didn't, here's a little secret for you - in the end of the demo there's a tiny little sketch featuring all the playable heroes (yes, Hat Kid included ːlunar2019piginablanketː)!
If you already played the demo and (hopefully!) loved it, we would really appreciate if you would add Tunche to your wishlist!
A Hat in Time is a cute-as-heck 3D platformer featuring a little girl who stitches hats for wicked powers! You like cute art? A Hat in time! You like 3D platformers? A Hat in Time! You strive for games that are both fun to play and like ACTUALLY fun? A Hat in Time!
As we all know, GDC and all other events are getting cancelled and indie games now have even less opportunities to show their creations to the players. But! Thanks to Steam and Indie MEGABOOTH we have our demo of Tunche available for players all over the world.
This demo is very special to us as this is the first time we are putting a playable demo that features Hat Kid as a part of our collaboration with Gears for Breakfast, the creators of the famous A Hat in Time. Hat Kid will be the 5th Playable Character in the game. She will be joining Rumi and friends on their adventures in the Amazon jungle and have a full skill tree, a new unique skill set as well as her own story to tell.
For those who are not familiar with A Hat in Time, we strongly recommend to try it out! It's a cute-as-heck 3D platformer featuring a little girl who stitches hats for wicked powers!
Ink Stain Games and HypeTrain Digital are thrilled to announce that you’re invited to the relic hunt in the world of “Stoneshard” - a challenging turn-based RPG set in an open world with procedurally generated dungeons.
Stoneshard is a blend of a traditional turn-based RPG combat with brutal roguelike challenge, featuring an unrestricted character development and a complex injury treatment system.
Players who are well-acquainted with the traditional roguelike games will certainly find similarities between a classic dungeon crawler and Stoneshard - however, our game puts a larger emphasis on strategy and resource management. The game is set in a world rich with lore, which helps players immerse themselves in this setting while they explore the dangerous lands of Stoneshard.
Explore the open world of Aldor, a kingdom in ruin where danger lurks around every corner...
First of all we want to say how much we’ve missed our beloved players! Hope you guys missed us too <3
Since we last updated you on the development progress we’ve managed to get a ton of things done. Among all the things we have fully finished the third playable character, Nayra and started working on Hat Kid.
While developing Tunche we always wanted it to run smoothly and look like a playable cartoon. It wasn’t an easy task to say the least but we humbly hope we managed to achieve that. However, working in full 2D was limiting us when it came to a lot of things, such as using SFX or making the enemy attack patterns more complex.
We experimented a lot with what we had and came up with an idea. What if we take our hand-drawn sprites and backgrounds and sprinkle them with some 3D magic?..
The whole team was fascinated by how gorgeous our game came to be with this simple yet fresh idea. Of course, it requires extra work, but hey, we want our dream game to look as stunning and play as smooth as possible. Making the visuals more complex we managed to add dynamic lighting, shadows and work on that day and night cycle a little more.
Speaking of extra work, we want to shed a little light on the details of what we had to change.
Obviously we had to rework all of our foreground and background assets so they would work with the new 3D depth correctly. Same goes for all the player and enemy sprites - as they used to stick to the floor, we had to change all of them accordingly. Even more than that, honestly, we had to rework the speed and timing of everything related to air combat.
Aside from working on that, we have worked on the story to give more depth to our characters. This also includes the alternative ending stretch goal we’ve reached with your help. We can’t thank you enough for giving us so much love and making “Dark Heroes” expansion a part of Tunche. We hope you’ll enjoy learning more about the crew of heroes that embarked on an adventure into the unforgiving wilderness. All of them are driven by their own goals and there’s something they might not be ready to face just yet.
Well… we don’t want to spoil too much of it, so you guys would wait a little longer to enjoy all the twists yourself. Speaking of the wait, we have some news regarding the release date. Unfortunately, with all the new additions and features we will have to develop Tunche a little longer. But trust us, it’s all for the best!
We plan to release Tunche Q3 2020 and we surely will make it worth the wait.
We want to break the radio silence once and for all and starting today we will be posting interesting stories, development secrets and many more things that usually stay hidden from you, our players. We deeply care about the message our development teams want to deliver to their audience. That's why we are willing to take another step forward and start this series of blog entries.
Final note to our beloved backers. We will be sending out our surveys really soon as we’ve planned to proceed with the player-created content in the beginning of 2020. We hope you already have tons of ideas and we can’t wait to hear all of them!
If you want to stay in touch with the developers, please join our Discord channel. You can ask devs about interesting trivia or share a picture of your dog.
Every hero needs a good story. It helps us connect with them and see that anybody can become a hero. They can weild magical powers, have tremendous strength or be extremely agile — but in the end they, too, have favorite foods, animals or places they would like to visit. To deepen the characters of heroes of Tunche, we will be sharing their bios with you! Starting with Rumi — the young shaman with great responsibilities and big aspirations.
We’re unveiling more interesting stuff soon - so please be sure to add Tunche to your Wishlist and Follow the game to see every new update as soon as it drops.
Hello, everyone! Starting today we will be posting interesting stories, development secrets and many more things that usually stay hidden from you, our players. As an indie game publisher we deeply care about the message our developent teams want to deliver to their audience. That's why we are willing to take another step forward and start this series of blog entries.
In this DevBlog entry we will tell you about Tunche's second boss — Mapinguari. His sprites are still a work in progress, so we’ve decided to share with you how he is portrayed in legends. Hopefully this entry will give you a better understanding of how scary and gruesome he is!
Many cryptozoologists believe that Mapinguari is based off of a prehistoric creature named Megatherium. It essentially was a grandfather to a present day sloth, but was much larger in size. Actually, it was one of the largest mammals to roam the Earth! The fossilized remains of Megatheriums were found all over South America. Including Peru, the homeland of Leap Game Studios!
Skeleton of Megatherium.
But being only a giant sloth isn’t enough to become a scary monster. As described in folklore, Mapinguari has one eye, a huge mouth with sharp teeth on his belly, and incredibly long claws. He also exudes a stench so putrid, it can make you dizzy and knock you out, and can even change day into night!
One of many traditional depictions of Mapinguari.
Traditional depictions of Mapinguari can somewhat resemble a North American Bigfoot. But unlike him, Mapinguari doesn’t flee from humans on sight. It’s very much the opposite — he actively tries to hunt down humans, who hurt the rainforest and its inhabitants, or break the jungle’s unspoken rules.
Mapinguari in Tunche.
Artists of Tunche had to refrain from closely following monster’s traditional looks, to fit Mapinguari into the game’s design. But they are working their hardest to make him as fearsome as in Amazonian legends and be worthy of his real counterpart!
