Fellow Chefs, a new patch has been uploaded! We worked hard to fix all issues that has been found and we'd like to thank you all for your patience and the love you showed us!

Changelog:
  • Removed a critical bug corrupting save games. Old save games affected by this bug can now be loaded without any issue.
  • Rebalanced the various customer removal policies.
  • Fixed a couple waiters without hair. It won't affect existing games unless those waiters are fired and re-hired later.
  • Fixed some missing strings.
  • Fixed the Policies being reset when going back to an older restaurant.
  • Fixed a bug removing all influence from older restaurants. Sadly it won't recover old savegames, but you can send those to us and we will gladly restore them for you.
  • Fixed a broken tooltip on the customers recap.
  • Fixed an issue with the main character's photo reverting to a black silhouette.
  • Fixed an issue corrupting savegames right after unlocking a new popularity tier.

Hello fellow Chefs, a new Major Update is available for Chef: A Restaurant Tycoon Game!

Prepare yourself, because you will finally be able to own more than a single Restaurant, creating new lucrative enterprises in the city. Executive Chefs will run the old Restaurant for you will you focus on the new one, but you will be able to go back and improve things as you like!

Please, be careful with older save games because they won't be compatible! If you want to keep playing with your old restaurant, you can open the game's properties on Steam, then head for the Betas panel and select version 0.8 from the dropdown menu!

  • Multiple Restaurants can now be managed, allowing the creation of a restaurant empire.
  • Added a new decision to activate Multiple Restaurants once the player is popular enough.
  • Executive Chefs can be hired to manage old restaurants, granting varied bonuses.

  • Added a new UI panel, in which info about all restaurants can be easily reviewed.
  • Fixed an issue with the character's avatar disappearing.

We are happy to announce that we just released a Major Update for Chef! We completely overhauled the existing Furnishing system, making it deeper, easier to use, and adding more than 50 new items!

We also improved ChefAdvisor with dynamic reviews and added a new Calendar mechanics that will let you people see the place swarming with customers during christmas and other holydays.

As always, we also brought some other minor improvements and fixed existing issues!

  • Improved and expanded the Furnishing: there are now different Styles and each Customer Category will react differently to them, to the point of not coming at all into the Restaurant if their minimum requirements are not met.
  • Added the Calendar Mechanic: the year has been divided in 48 weeks, and some of them have a chance of having unique modifiers affecting the gameplay, creating new challenges but also new opportunities.
  • Added more than 50 new decorations and furnishing pieces.
  • ChefAdvisor has been improved with dynamic reviews, offering a more in depth and realistic experience.
  • The overall Ambience Scores are now visible.

  • Waiters performances have been improved.
  • A new toggle has been added in the Menu Panel to show/hide all pre-made recipes.
  • Added an alert to clearly signal if, during Recipe creation, the mandatory Ingredients are missing.
  • Fixed Colliders on Restaurant 401 to prevent certain paintings to melt inside the wall, creating a new kind of art the world is not ready to witness.
  • The Master Chef achievement is now working properly.
  • Placed a limit on customers waiting outside to prevent the formation of massive crowds which worsened the overall performances.

We uploaded a new, juicy patch! It brings several fixes and some new features, improving the overall polish of the game!

  • Added more icons that can be used to customize several Meat, Seafood, and Vegetables Templates.

A new patch for Chef has been released!

We fixed all compatibility issues between the new editor and the old saves, so the Reworked Editor patch is now the default one! For anyone interested in playing with the old version, we added a new branch in the game's Beta panel.

The old version can be accessed by accessing Chef's properties on Steam, then heading to the Beta panel and choosing the version 0.7!

  • Fixed issues when loading pre-existing recipes from older savegames.
  • Credits are now available, you can finally know who need to be insulted when bugs pop out!
  • Improved the Save and Load UI to have more info in it and be better looking.
  • Fixed a Template bug when editing recipes.

We are very happy to deliver you an improved Recipe Editor: it is now possible to precisely tune the amount of all ingredients used in the recipe, and editing recipes has been made easier, funnier, and more realistic!

Changelog
  • The Recipe Editor has been reworked in many aspects, the UI is now more informative and it is possible to change a Recipe Name, Template, and Icon at any time.
  • Tags are now applied to custom recipes following different rules, and a nice slider updated in real time let the player know about the Recipe's Tags.
  • The three Quantity rows have been removed, and it's now possible to fine tune the weight of all ingredients used, which will affect their impact on the Recipe's taste.
  • It is now possible to change an Ingredient's Quality more easily when the recipe is being made.
  • It is now clearer which Skills affect the rating of a Recipe.
  • The performances when opening and using both the Recipe Editor and the Ingredient Panel have dramatically improved.
  • The Ingredient Panel has been reworked to be better looking and clearer.
  • Ingredients are now unlocked like Skills, therefore to unlock the third Tier of an Ingredient is now necessary to have both Tier 1 and Tier 2
  • Flour is now aroma neutral.
  • Pasta related skills have been fixed to apply to all templates.
  • The character creation screen have been improved.
  • Fixed some bugs connected to the staff Morale.
  • The rating in Hats for a Recipe is now scaled with the player's Popularity
  • Some Skills have been balanced.

EDIT: since a few issues have been reported, the update has been temporarily moved to the beta branch. It can be accessed in the game's properties, in the beta panel. We are sorry for the issues it may have caused to anyone, feel free to contact the development team to get help if you need something solved!

A new, massive update for Chef is now available! Are you ready for a massive changelog?

Changelog
  • Staff can now gain experience and level up skills! Chefs and Waiters will have a deeper influence on the daily service and having them skilled will greatly improve the restaurant's performances.
  • The player's Avatar now has, just like other chefs, a skill tree dedicated to practical cooking.
  • Tasks can now be freely assigned to the entire staff, allowing the player to carefully decide how to use the entirety of the staff!
  • The Staff now has Energy and Morale values to be taken into account while managing them.
  • When the Morale is too low, Staff Members will resign.
  • The player can now unlock special active skills that can be used to take care of emergencies during the daily service, and their cooldown is influenced by the average morale of the staff.
  • Skills have been revamped to be much more meaningful, and now Template-dedicated skills can be leveled, unlocking special Perks that can be used while creating recipes and following certain conditions.
  • Greatly optimized performances, especially in big restaurants and advanced phases of the game.
  • Steam Trading Cards are now available.
  • Cloud Save is now available.
  • Changed the Waiter's workflow and AI to increase their performances
  • Improved the consistency of ChefAdvisor Reviews
  • Fixed an issue preventing players to scroll down the staff panel.

  • Fixed an issue with Influence Points being lost while moving to another Restaurant
