Today we are VERY excited to announce our largest single update yet!
Players can now meet and play together in the brand new Multiplayer Mode and enjoy a completely redesigned, streamlined user interface. Additional updates include a brand new song, a new stage, new avatars, and new sound effects. Our map editor has also received some updates. Let’s break this down!
The first new feature is the cross-platform Multiplayer Mode. Get ready to challenge your friends and make new ones from around the world, all while playing your favorite OST and custom songs together! The multiplayer mode lets you join up to four other players at a time and race for the highest score. As you’re soaring through each song, you’ll be able to check the leaderboard in real-time to see how you are performing, (confirming that you are, crushing the competition and keeping that number one spot, right?). Multiplayer adds a whole new adrenaline rush to playing for our competitive players, and adds a fun, laidback way, to connect with fellow Synth Riders inside an amazing music environment. We can’t wait to actually meet some of you and chat as we battle and connect together!
Before each multiplayer battle, players can further spice up the competition by choosing from a collection of modifiers such as “Prismatic Notes,”“Sudden Death,” etc. The new mode also supports voice chat in the game and in lobbies so you can trash talk —err, I mean, encourage— your opponent, decide what song you want to play next, etc.
The second major update you’ll notice in this release is the brand new UX and visual updates to parts of the game. You’ll notice the new menus are smoother, quicker and more intuitive when picking modes, songs, browsing music packs or just moving around the menu. We spent a lot of time listening to feedback for this and we’re excited to see what you think of the new changes!
and… that’s not all
To celebrate the multiplayer release, we have also added a bonus free song called “Code War” by Nutronic that’s a blast to play, and a new stage called “Abstract.” Lastly, we’ve created brand new, custom-designed avatars and sound effects for the game.
Let us know what you think of the update. As always, this would not be possible without our community, and we cannot wait to speak with you guys in our Synth Riders rooms. This game would not be what it is without you!

Ways to double your profit:
1. Build a time machine, go back to the 80s, live there for a while (because the 80’s were awesome), invest in Apple or Google, then come back.
2. Take advantage of this limited-time Synth Riders BOGO sale and get two copies of the game for less than the price of one! Only this weekend, when you purchase one Steam Synth Riders copy, you'll also receive an extra Steam key for free!
One feature we’re VERY excited about releasing soon is the much anticipated multiplayer mode. This sale is perfect even if you already have the game to get a couple copies for your friends as gifts. Multiplayer will be cross-platform compatible and so you’ll be able to challenge your friends on Steam, Oculus Rift, and Oculus Quest!

As we enter into 2020 with a whole new set of exciting Synth Riders features, and with so many huge things planned, we thought it would be fun to look back at the past year’s accomplishments and get a little nostalgic.
You guys have been the most amazing community we could ever ask for and we couldn’t have gotten here without you! Let’s start this 2019 rewind by looking at some of the top Synth Riders songs that you most enjoyed playing this past year.
The most played song was "Lazer Pink" by Sunset Neon. This is a great EDM song with “synthwave” influences that also broke the mold beyond this very genre. We want to give a huge shout out to Omotea for their fantastic video featuring this Sunset Neon classic, and getting a quarter of a million views while at it!
Your second favorite map this year was another Sunset Neon classic, “Tonight” which has become Synth Riders’ very own 80’s rock n’ roll anthem. ). Nobody captures the essence of this song on the game better than Touge, who nails the appropriate costume for this song on his underrated video masterpiece.
Your third favorite song was "Enemy" by Blue Stahli, one of the harder electro-rock songs in the original Synthwave essentials pack. Xoxobluff really shows off getting her leg and core workout for the day playing below.
As far as difficulties in the game, “Expert” was the most commonly played difficulty in 2019, followed closely by “Hard,” which we feel is just about when the game starts to get interesting.
It’s really important to us that Synth Riders is fun for everyone, regardless of their skill level, but we know that it is in the higher level of difficulty, such as Expert or Master, that really cause you to move your body, experience some of the finer game mechanics and truly feel the music when you play. We’re glad so many people have been experiencing it at these levels
If you’re not there yet, make a resolution that 2020 is the year that you get there! You got this, we’re all behind you! (join one of the Synth Riders Discord groups to meet players, get support and tips)
Lastly, we just wanted to highlight a few of the major features we added in 2019. We’ve been working around the clock to make Synth Riders the best game possible and we think you’ll be very impressed with our 2020 roadmap. Coming up in the pipeline are new song packs, a complete overhaul to the UI, a more robust music discovery system, new features, game modes, and our much awaited multiplayer version, which is already being tested Get ready because in 2020, Synth Riders is about to become a whole new game!
Thanks again for making this year so special for us! We can’t wait for 2020, where we’ll actually get to meet some of you in the new multiplayer mode when that releases very soon!
Here’s to 2020 and another amazing year with you guys!!
Here are the fixes and improvements: - Loading time improvements - Party Mode is now available, you can find it at the bottom of the song selection menu - UI improvements - Mods interaction improvement
