Resident Evil 2

The chances of a new Dino Crisis appearing in the near future are probably pretty low, but if you're still carrying a torch for Capcom's dino survival horror romp, there's finally a Resident Evil 2 mod that might scratch your itch, putting Dino Crisis' Regina and Dylan into the remake. Modder CrazyPotato also put together a video that you can watch above.

The Dino Crisis mod pack swaps Claire for Regina and Leon for Morton, and you can find some goodies—there are new weapons, including the Glock—waiting for you in the RPD main hall. It turns out Sherry is a Dino Crisis fan, too, and she's sporting a new jacket to let the world know.

CrazyPotato notes that the weapons spawn in scenario A, and you'll need to be wearing the Regina costume or have it installed if you want to use the Glock. The new DLC might also create issues, they warn, but it will be updated if that's the case.

Now all we need is for someone to replace the zombies with dinosaurs and we won't even need a new Dino Crisis.

I refuse to play Resident Evil 2, because I am, proudly, a coward. But if you re braver than me, there s now more game, and you can get it for free. The Ghost Survivors takes players into a what if universe, offering alternate stories for three pre-existing characters as they try to escape from the biological disaster that befell Raccoon City. All of them are teased in this here trailer, which I watched at great peril but which happily had no jump scares.

Resident Evil 2

Here, we're going to talk you through the location of each of the Mr Raccoon statues in Resident Evil 2 Remake. No doubt you've heard them as you've been wandering around RE2's three main locations, making a sound like a wind-up toy. You might even have shot or knifed a couple yourself. But they can be extremely easy to miss, since there are 15 in total. Below we'll talk you through it. If Steam achievements are your thing, you'll get a Complete Vermin Extermination unlock for your trouble—a reference to a famously outrageous Albert Wesker monologue from Resident Evil 5.

While you're playing RE2 Remake, check out our Resident Evil 2 locker and safe codes guide, a refresher on how to get the shotgun in Resident Evil 2 Remake, and how to get the Lightning Hawk Magnum in RE2

Police Station, 1F, West Office

You'll find this Mr Raccoon early on in the game, on top of some boxes near the 'Welcome Leon' sign. This is the room where you solve the desk lock puzzle based on the initials of Leon's new colleagues—you'll run through it a bunch of times.

Police Station, 1F, Break Room

It's not hard to find this Mr Raccoon in one of the game's save areas, particularly if you're picking through it for items anyway. He's behind a bag near the bunkbed by the sink. This is the first save room you access in Claire's campaign.

Police Station, 2F, outside the Chief's office

This Mr Raccoon is on a table by the stairs. You'll probably just come across this one by exploring.

Police Station, Basement, Firing Range

Like all the rooms in the basement, the Firing Range is not a particularly nice or bright area to explore, but you will find a Mr Raccoon here. Look by the targets on the floor inside the range itself.

Incinerator Room, Sewers, playing as Ada

This is an easy one to miss, since you don't play as Ada for long. Mr Raccoon is next to a pillar and some traffic cones near the incinerator room's door.

Police Station, 3F, Clock Tower

You don't spend long in the Clock Tower, so you might miss this one. There's an explorable area behind the Clock Tower—head through, and glance at a windowsill in this hallway to find yet another Mr Raccoon.

Police Station, 2F, S.T.A.R.S office

While you're up here trying to figure out how to get the magnum or grenade launcher, search the south side of the room to find a Mr Raccoon on the desks.

Sewer, near the alligator boss carcass

After you've fought this beastie as Leon—which isn't too hard, since you basically just run away for most of it—you'll find this Mr Raccoon on the left on a ledge in the room where you end up.

Police Station, 1F, Entrance (as Claire)

You'll find this Mr Raccoon statue concealed in the bushes right near the start on Claire's campaign—around the area you activate the cutscene with Leon.

Laboratory, Cafeteria

This perpetually dark room is the location of another Mr Raccoon, perched on a table and near a television.

Laboratory, nap room

This one's a little harder to find, because you'll need to bring the power back online first to open up the shutters. It's in the pod next to the one containing a dead body on the right as you enter. You'll need to get the signal modulator and backtrack to this area—but doing so yields a modulator for Leon's flamethrower, and a high voltage condenser for Claire's sparkshot, so you'll wanna do it anyway.

Sewers, lower floor, near the Supplies Storage Room

Up the stairs that connect the Bottom Waterway and the Supplies Storage Room, Mr Raccoon can be found in the corner, obscured by a workbench.

Bus, Raccoon City (as Claire)

When you're wandering through this bus in one of the exteriors in Claire's campaign, you'll want to get Mr Raccoon on the dashboard.

Orphanage, Nursery (as Claire)

You'll find Mr Raccoon in the Nursery area of the Orphanage exclusive to Claire's campaign. He's hidden in a storage unit, that looks straight out of Ikea.

Police Station, 3F, East Storage Room (As Claire)

There's a smaller room inside this one that requires the Heart key to open—so you'll need to be playing as Claire to grab this one.

Resident Evil 2

Resident Evil 2 Remake's Ghost Survivors DLC is out tomorrow, allowing you to play through three 'what if' scenarios as victims of the Raccoon City outbreak.

The free DLC includes No Time to Mourn, Runaway and Forgotten Soldier, each giving you the chance to step into the shoes of a different character and experience the biological disaster from the perspective of the civilians.

You'll have met each character during the main game and now you'll get to see what might have happened had they survived the Raccoon City incident. No Time to Mourn sees you playing as Robert Kendo, the gun shop owner, Runaway follows the story of Katherine, the mayor's daughter, and Forgotten Soldier sees you step into the shoes of Ghost, a USS agent. Each scenario will give these characters a second chance to escape their fate.

Resident Evil 2 Remake launched last month and quickly accumulated more than three times the player numbers of the previous title, Resident Evil 7 on Steam. If you haven't decided whether to take the zombie-infested plunge, you can check out what Andy made of it in his review.

Resident Evil 2

Resident Evil 2's free Ghost Survivors DLC arrives on February 15th, Capcom has announced.

Ghost Survivors, if you missed the original reveal, takes the form of three 'what if' stories built around characters you meet during Resident Evil 2's main campaign. In a new post on the PlayStation Blog, Capcom likens Ghost Survivors to Resident Evil 2's infamous The 4th Survivor and Tofu Survivor modes, but rather than guiding Hunk or an errant bit of soya through Racoon City, you'll step into the shoes of three characters that, in canon terms at least, never survived the zombie outbreak.

There are, however, some major differences between Resident Evil 2's classic Survivor modes and the new Ghost Survivor campaigns. For starters, while Tofu and 4th Survivor limit players to weapons provided at the outset, it's possible to collect new equipment throughout the three new modes. Don't expect to find them strewn around the environment though; items can only be acquired by defeating backpack zombies or by raiding vending machines.

Resident Evil 2

The Resident Evil 2 Remake gave a facelift to every aspect of the original, including the UI. It's now much sleeker, and easier to navigate—but that hasn't stopped some fans feeling nostalgia for the menus of 1998.

If you're one of them, then you should grab a new mod called Classic UI, which reverses many of the changes, giving you a retro health bar, classic save icons with character portraits, and the original Resident Evil 2 logo, alongside other tweaks. Watch it in action in the video above.

You can grab it here, courtesy of modder Crazy Potato.

If you're looking for other Resident Evil 2 Remake mods, you're in luck: there's a first-person mod if you want extra terror, a fixed camera angle mod that makes the action even more tense and, best of all, a mod that adds DMX. Seriously

Resident Evil 2

We asked for it, and it happened. After people started making videos that overlaid the 2003 DMX single X Gon' Give it to Ya over the appearances of Mr. X in the Resident Evil 2 remake, we were all waiting for an enterprising modder to make it real. And now, DJ Pop has done exactly that. You can find instructions for how to download and install the mod on Steam. God bless PC gaming.

As per the mod's description, it'll play when Mr. X appears in these locations:

Raccoon Police DepartmentParking Garage (Claire)Orphanage (Claire)Upper Sewers (Ada)Green House (Leon)

Now go out there and get it given to ya.

Resident Evil 2

Resident Evil 2 is a remake of the 1998 classic - reimagined with a over-the-shoulder perspective and some new surprises.

Fear not, though, as this is the same Police Station and Raccoon City you remember - it's dense, dangerous easy to get lost in, and full of tough puzzles.

Our Resident Evil 2 walkthrough explains how to complete Leon's campaign from start to finish, as well as the start of Claire's - after all, there is some crossover between the two storylines.

A hugely impressive reimagining of a classic videogame has been released, so there’s only one thing for it – mod it until it’s just like the original. Boo, 2019, boo!

Take, for example, videos which replace the free-moving over-the-shoulder camera of the brilliant Resident Evil 2 remake with the fixed camera angles of the 1998 original. While I’m very happy with how the remake does it, this return to fixed cam does lend it a powerful horror movie je ne sais quoi – I should very much like to play that Resi 2 hybrid.

But will that ever be possible? I asked the chap behind the videos about how he’d done it, if and when it’d be released, and why embark on this reverse-remaking in the first place?
