We have some news for those playing Crossroads Inn on older Win 7 and 8.1 OS! Version 3.0.5 is now temporarily available on a separate branch for you to play on while we get more permanent solutions in place to make 3.0.6 playable for those using older OS.

How to Switch Branches
1. Find Crossroads Inn Anniversary Edition in Steam Library.
2. Right-click on it and choose Properties.
3. Go to the Betas tab and select “old_windows” from the dropdown menu.
4. Wait until the update is downloaded.

It is recommended that you uninstall and reinstall the game for this switch as well. It will ensure you are on version 3.0.5 without any conflicts on that branch.

Linux and Mac Users
We are working to get patch 3.0.6 playable for Mac and Linux users however, once that is complete, support for these platforms will be discontinued.

Coming Up:

After the Easter Holiday, the devs will be getting back to work on making the latest patch (3.0.6) playable for Win 7 and 8 users, as well as working on the bug fixes for patch 3.0.7. Some of the bugs being addressed for the next patch include:
• Bugged cat animations
• Bugs with petting cats and dogs
• Bards taking a bath while clothed
• Adding XP for cleaning floors
• Some fixes for the Debt system

This list is not finalized as we identify and test other reported bugs from the community and is subject to change.

It’s another wonderful day in Delcrys and your dedicated Court Herald has been hard at work to help improve the Kingdom. It’s Patch Day!

This patch had been delayed because there was some additional play testing needed and I wanted to really make sure that things would flow smoothly. For the most part, many issues such as fireplaces getting too much wood or staff not knowing how to use the soap are taken care of. There is still some issue with cats but they are no longer ignored after being tamed and they still don’t run away too fast. I had 3 very happy and rambunctious cats running around my test Inn. They still get into the catnip and try to run into walls now and then, but we are looking into where the catnip is coming from to get it taken care of for good.

Be aware, dear Innkeepers, that if you don’t pay your loans back - the banks notice again! I enjoyed the bit of grace period when the Kingdom kind of forgot about money being lent out. They pay more attention now so make sure you pay back what you borrowed.

One item of note is that not all of the bugs I reported were worked on due to the cut off time. The devs need time to look at each one, find/create a solution, and have it tested. The next patch shouldn’t be so long in coming. For your consideration, I give you the Patch Notes!




- NPCs will no longer block themselves in the Bathroom's changing rooms
- Baths no longer get filled multiple times and then never get used (part of the blocking issue)
- Fixed an issue that caused a worker to not stop his current task after he was moved by The Hand
- It is no longer possible to build anything outside of specified build area
- Removed an empty scenario
- The game will now correctly react to the player not paying back his Bank loan in time
- Removed the not working "Set" button in Options
- Further fixes to Soap and Dishwashers; it should now work regardless of the type of Dishwasher
- Dugout storage building now appears on the Furniture list after it is unlocked
- Removing a room with shift+drag method now removes the whole room, not only the floor
- Fixed the contents of Media tab in the Main Menu
- Fixed a crash that could occur after loading a quick save game
- Fireplaces now use only the intended amount of wood


I cannot thank the community enough for their help and good humor as I work toward getting things smoothed out. It has been an interesting month getting to know my fellow Innkeepers - especially on Steam and Discord!

Greetings Innkeepers,

My name is LeAnn Pickard and I am thrilled to be chosen as your Herald (Community Manager) for Crossroads Inn! The opportunity to meet and connect with other people who enjoy Crossroads Inn and sim gaming in general is a dream come true and I welcome all the challenges it will bring. The opportunity to be part of a game development team will absolutely be a top 10 moment of my life! If we were to count the developers as the Kings of the kingdom, and you all as the Innkeepers that you are, I suppose that makes me your Court Herald!



I was born and raised on a small island in Southeast Alaska, in a town called Ketchikan. I grew up camping, hunting, fishing, and generally playing in the wilderness. It was a pleasantly peasant-y upbringing.

I began computer gaming in the year of 1997 with games like Myst and The Sims. A magnitude of adventures through many a style of game has been played over the years, but my heart never lost its love for sim style management games. Additionally, I’ve a number of years of tabletop warring through the worlds of Dungeons and Dragons. I’m sure you can see why Crossroads Inn had such a strong draw for me!

At this time, I have over 350 hours of innkeeping experience (that’s a lot of Lager!). I’ve gone through the storyline three times to earn all the achievements, mastered the “Hard” setting in the sandbox mode, and played all of the scenarios. It’s the Innkeeper’s Life for me! Here are a few pictures of the largest Inn I have the pleasure of managing, at least, so far. The budget was quite generous for this one. ;)









It is my goal to not only connect with the fellow innkeepers already gathered, but to grow the community and breathe new life into it. I know there are many passionate CINN players (You are henceforth known as CINNers) out there and I will do my utmost to ensure thine voices are heard at future gatherings in the King’s Court. In other realms such as Steam and Discord, I am known as LeaPi (Discord is LeaPi#6379). You will see my comments and posts in both places, along with Facebook and other social media in the future.

To get a good start, the Kingdom is to have a celebration! I would love to hear your thoughts, positive or negative, and especially see pictures of your Inns. • Cats no longer run away too fast.
  
• Workers start fixing objects quicker.
  
• Furniture objects that did not have a texture removed.
  
• Mincer now works; Venison and Pork produce mincemeat.
  
• Basement stairs built on an expanded green area now work correctly.
  
• Finishing prologue and starting act 1 will no longer cause DLC furniture to disappear.
  
• Fixed the crash if the last block from any room was removed.
  
• Wall mounted decorations no longer disappear when expanding room on a lower level.
  
• In the journal, your speech skills will now update correctly.

AI:
- Made some improvements to the staff priorities system.
- Fixed priority system for baths; one person can no longer reserve multiple baths.
- Further adjustments to Horse AI, to avoid obstacles.

UI:
- Pet stats and portraits are now correctly displayed.
- Removed placeholder UI elements in menus.
- Adventurer icons in dialogue windows are now displayed correctly.
- Purchasing a recipe or a piece of furniture will now cause it to disappear from the map.
- The UI now makes it clear what prevents building stairs in the basement level.
- Re-enabled special DLC skin for Martyn in Options.
- Bread production can now be stopped.
- Removed "no adequate room" error from furniture in the Main Hall. Miscellaneous:
- The guests will no longer stop paying for Renting Rooms after loading a game.
- Fixed issues with building and deleting furniture in the basement level.
- Deleting a wall no longer causes its decorative elements to hover in the air.
- Added subtitles to Chinese intro.
- Increased rewards for Gambling and Pit Fighting.
- The player's dogs will now scare off feral cats less often.
- Reduced Fame level required for guests to want to enjoy Vedeta services.

- Fixed difficult placement for multiple objects; using left CTRL shouldn't now be required
- Disabling DLC content no longer causes a crash during interaction on old saves
- Brewing can now be stopped
- Fixed overextended use of Mugs by the staff; however please remember that it is still required to store dirty Mugs before washing them
- The animation of bubbles no longer persists after moving a dishwasher
- A red cog will no longer appear on the Counter prematurely if your staff is overworked
- Geese, ducks and horse riders are no longer visible when -1 view is on
- Fixed client complaining about lack of light in situations where candles are being replaced
- Pets stats are now displayed correctly

Hi all!

We all know that beginnings are the hardest. When it comes to Crossroads Inn Anniversary Edition we aim to lessen the burden. Firstly due to huge changes in Performance, UI, and Pathfinding but the most important factor is your feedback! Thanks to you we are able to deliver the first patch with fixes when not even 24h have passed since the release and we are still on track to provide you with more minor improvements! As a Community, your voice is the most important and your feedback is invaluable! Those changes are already available on the PC Steam version! For GOG.com, Mac OS & Linux those fixes will be implemented on Monday the 26th of October. Without further ado, here are Patch Notes 3.0.1:

• Added a possibility of turning off old DLC content in Options
  
• Added a possibility of reverting a change in AE that caused furniture to be assigned to specific rooms - players will be able to freely place the furniture in the rooms, one can find this in the options and it's called "Allow all objects in all Rooms"
  
• Horse Wagons will no longer stray off the road
  
• Removed gray, square background from banners and pelts

In the Anniversary Edition, Alina became one of the bards in the game! She is our long-time collaborator, we admire her voice, and working with her is very, very exciting. She answered a few questions about her involvement in game development, we highly encourage you to read it until the end as there is an additional surprise waiting for you (at the bottom of the page).

1. How do you like the game in general?
   
   When I first heard about Crossroads Inn I liked the concept very much. I loved playing The Sims when I was a kid and Crossroads Inn seemed to pick up the idea of that game, but in a much cooler medieval setting and with great storytelling.
   When I tested the game shortly before it was released last year, it was clear that the team was passionate about this project: The details, the designs, and the music, the game was very enjoyable so far. There were a few bugs back in the days, but the team released many patches to fix those. For now, I can't wait to check out the Anniversary Edition! It looks like it will light up those rainy autumn days a lot!
   
   
2. How did you feel making the song and clip?
   
   For the song Forget me not, I teamed up with composer Marcin Pukaluk. The goal was to create a game based ballad that dealt with a sad love story but also was catchy and uplifting enough to suit the atmosphere of a medieval tavern. Marcin wrote the music first and I added the lyrics afterward. I am really happy how it turned out!
   Filming the video for the song was a little bit tricky though! We went to my favorite forest in Germany and I had this self-made floral wreath and a sensitive white dress with me. It rained a lot between the shots and we improvised rain protection with garbage bags that covered the equipment and me. It was fun spending the day in the forest singing and dancing, I nearly felt like a forest spirit indeed
   
   
3. What do you think about the new bard character based on your appearance?
   
   I think it's a really cute idea and I am happy that the music is played in-game too. I bet if you would have told me last year that I would embody a bard in a video game, I would have said you're crazy! It feels really great and the team did a great job on the character I don't have such splendid moves in real life though

As we have already informed you, all original game owners may now update it to Anniversary Edition for free! We are also happy to confirm that you are now entitled to play all the DLC released until now, even if you haven’t purchased them earlier!

We are sooooo happy to confirm that Crossroads Inn Anniversary Edition will be available tomorrow! It is the most definitive edition of our game and it brings tons of improvement and new content.
