Crossroads Inn Anniversary Edition - Marcin_Klabater
Dear Innkeepers! It gives us great pleasure to announce the collaboration with Nerds' Kitchen team on the Crossroads Inn project. They are a bunch of experts on the culinary side of games, who prepared an e-book with recipes from Witcher's universe for CD Projekt Red.
In our project, Nerds' Kitchen are responsible for creating 12 legendary dishes from the Delcrys universe. They've also helped designing other dishes, that you'll be able to include into the menu of your tavern. And that's not all, we have an additional surprise for you! You will be able to prepare the legendary dishes on you own, in your own very kitchen with a "Crossroads Inn Cookbook" that Nerds' Kitchen are preparing for us!
Last month we've teased you with information about presentation of a new special worker class, straight from the world of Crossroads Inn. And now, the time has come. Vedetas, also described as the Daughters of the Moon, play a significant role in Delcrys. Dabbling in harlotry, they are an object of desire and contempt for numerous people. At the same time, they are feared and able to remain independent. All because of their power to cast curses, bestowed upon them by the deity of the moon. At least that is what people believe! Because of that, everyone is very careful to not offend them. Harming one of the Vedetas is perceived as bringing a huge misfortune to the whole family of a culprit.
Vedetas come from houses established by those of them, who because of their age are no longer practicing their profession, but at the same time gained enough wealth and prestige. People call them the Homes of the Moon. They serve as a shelter for orphaned children and women in need. Those who display beauty and talent will acquire various skills under a strict supervision of the house owner. When they're ready, they leave the Home of the Moon and embark on a journey, taking the name of Vedeta.
When it comes to your inn, their importance is hard to overestimate. Just like bards, they require a separate chamber. At the same time, however, they turn a large profit for you and make your clients more willing to come back to your inn. Additionally, each of them has unique social affiliations. Choosing a specific Vedeta will be crucial for defining the social trait of your tavern. One of the Vedetas, particularly admired by representatives of Nobles and Distressed, is Kii. This beauty, who comes from the tribe of Ilits, one of the Courier tribes, is most famous for her skillful massage and lyre playing technique. She is rather taciturn and minimalistic in her expression. After leaving the house of Madame Yori in Couriers Stronghold, she moved to Trevenoux, where a bunch of infatuated bards created numerous poems on her behalf. Life was good for her, but a sudden friction with a wife of a duke, who used her services, forced her to leave the town and seek her fortune elsewhere. Maybe she'll find it in your tavern?
Fellow Innkeepers! The day has come and we want to present you with the complete Crossroads Inn Employee Scheme. We’ve spent a long time developing it, but finally, it took a shape that we’re all satisfied with. The scheme consists of Laborers, Caretakers, Kitchen Staff, Scoundrels, and Watchmen. Each class comprises of 30 levels grouped in 3 separate ranks. Those of you who have been following our channels will notice that on the attached image we present some new ones: Veteran, Chef, and Swindler. We hope you like them. Selecting your staff from among standard worker classes will enable you to manage your tavern and gain a decent income. However, if you really want your tavern to be in high gear, you’ll also need representatives of special classes. So far we were able to present you only with one of them – the Bards. Among them, Hubu Gross – the master of zither – was shown. In the upcoming weeks, we want to introduce the remaining two classes. Let us know in the comments what do you think those classes are and which one of them do you want to learn about first!
In most of the RPG games, a bard plays a minor role. He rather serves as a decoration to the plot and the developers tend not to involve him in the gameplay so much. When it comes to Crossroads Inn, however, the situation is completely different.
Bards, as the autonomous NPCs, with whom you can collaborate, are one of the crucial elements of the game. Having the desired performer in your venue gives a lot of benefits and can really push the game forward. The fundamental question that every respected innkeeper asks himself is how do you bring a bard to your tavern? First, you have to meet two conditions. There has to be a stage in your tavern, and you have to be able to lodge him in a separate room. Furthermore, every bard has specific preferences and affiliation. If the performer is famous among the Outlaws and admires rum, then having a high renown among them and selling that kind of a drink will boost the chances of him showing up in your tavern. This also works the other way. If the amount of visiting Outlaws drops and you're out of rum, there is a chance, your precious bard leaves. Nevertheless, it's worth it to host one in your tavern. That's because each bard provides you with specific benefits. He can provide for example a higher demand among your clients to use the gambling tables or a financial bonus when employing the new workers. Above all, every bard gives a performance. When he gathers enough of inspiration points, you can order him to start the show, during which all of your tavern is filled with a special aura. Because of it, some guests start to dance. They also order more food and drinks significantly boosting your income. You should remember, however, that each performance has a chance of a critical fail. In that scenario, instead of dancing, the guests will start a fight and will be less willing to order any food or drink. The basic version of the game will include 6 unique bards. Hubu Gross will enthrall the Townfolk with his sentimental ballads. Mischievous Alteu will tease his audience and make the noble ladies blush and freakish Winton will use his fantastic gadgets to enact the most famous battles of Yorevale and Untermach which will inspire the Adventurers to search for a new adventure.
And maybe you have an idea for a bard? Let us know in the comments. We're still looking for the inspiration.
Bards are a class of workers that is particularly hard to bring to the tavern. You have to meet the certain conditions depending on a specific bard. Originated from Untermarch Hubu Gross is widely recognized among the representatives of Townfolk. A high renown among this social group significantly increases the chance for him to show up in your tavern. If you provide him with a proper lodging, he will give regular shows, boosting your income. But accepting Hubu to your service has its drawback. The sentimental poems and songs of this bard are extremely unpopular among the Outlaws. Those tough guys, who reject any occasion to get emotional, will most likely avoid the place where his performance takes place.
The essence of every tavern is its work force. Here is a set of 5 basic classes of your inn. Those presented are the lowest ranks, greenhorns, who lack experience. Among them you'll find:
Thugs, who usually sit in the corner of the main hall and watch if everyone behave nicely.
Servants, who apart from cleaning and taking customers orders also collect rumors and gossip.
Tinhorns, who usually stroll among the tavern guests encouraging them to play some dice or cards.
Kitchenhands who do all the basic chores in the kitchen
Laborers, who carry wares and take care of small repairs.
