Hitman 2's first elusive target, Sean Bean, hasn't been live in the game for long, but there are already dozens of videos out there of The Undying meeting an unfortunate end. There are some real death traps in the area, it turns out, which make for quality viewing for us and an unfortunate number of deaths for Sean Bean. Below I've collected some of the creative kills I've seen so far (and a few that aren't so creative, but hey, I like variety). Stick through to the end for a phenomenal briefcase kill. And no, it's not using the amazing homing briefcase bug, although we're bound to get one of those soon enough.
Rock Paper Shotgun's Matt Castle sets Sean Bean up with a nice steaming cup of poisoned coffee. It takes awhile to kick in, but once it starts twisting up his guts, Mr. Bean heads to the toilet. You can probably guess what happens next.
"That is Mark Faba. Possibly the most elusive man in the history of the ICA..."
Or, uh, not.
GamesBeat's Jeff Grubb poses as a scientist to get into Sean Bean's inner circle, then uses a conveniently placed gun testing robot to score an elite 2-for-1 elimination.
When your target has a lab full of explosives, tossing them around turns out to be pretty effective. Just make sure you have an exit strategy first.
Ah, the classic "lure him into a room by loudly throwing a screwdriver on the floor" strategy.
Classic.
This is an incredible kill. Redditor Metalgaiden positions a briefcase a floor below and attaches a breaching charge to it. When 47 detonates the briefcase it comes flying up onto the balcony, just as Sean Bean comes walking out of his meeting room. One more detonation, and he's toast.
"The breaching charge has been like this since season one it has so much force it could probably send a body up there. Once I knew that it was simple to test it in normal Miami and wait for the target to go where I needed," Metalgaiden elaborated on Reddit.
Seen an even more impressive Bean kill? Let us know in the comments.
For England, James? No, for XP. 2000 XP, to be precise. That s how much Sean Bean s life is worth in the first of Hitman 2 s Elusive Targets. These are timed contracts that give you one shot at killing a special guest character – in this case, everyone s favourite Yorkshire thespian (okay, it s a toss up between Bean and fellow GoldenEye alumni Judi Dench).
Bean, of course, is famous for dying horribly in every film and show he s in (who could forget when Black Beauty kicked his face clean off?) and so it s a great opportunity to join the ever-growing club of Bean s executioners. The one and done approach makes it nerve wracking to document these runs in video form, but here s how I got on (more…)
IO Interactive's Hitman 2 only launched last week on Xbox One, PS4, and PC, but its very first Elusive Target mission is now go - and beloved actor Sean Bean is the man in players' sights as the contract gets underway.
More accurately, your first Elusive Target in Hitman 2 is Mark Faba, a disgraced former MI5 agent played by Sean Bean. Faba, explains IO, is known as The Undying by those in the know, and is a master of faking his own death. He's been confirmed dead by the International Contract Agency more than a dozen times and, as a result of his impressive disappearing skills, now has an enormous bounty on his head. There's a full briefing in the video below.
Hitman's first Elusive Target challenge sets players, in the role of Agent 47, the task of eliminating Faba after he is "hired by Robert Knox to complete an assassination contract that requires his expert surveillance, infiltration and demolition skills". Faba can be located on Hitman 2's Miami map but, as is always the case with Elusive Target missions, would-be assassins have only a single chance to take their target out.
Sean Bean, Hitman 2’s first elusive target, appeared in the game today. If you need someone to die, you really can’t do better than everyone’s favourite prematurely killed off Yorkshireman. The man of many deaths is playing Mark Faba, a disgraced MI5 operative who, appropriately, has been assassinated more than a dozen times but never seems to stay dead.
The briefing above makes a few suggestions about how you might go about killing your target in Miami. He’s there having a meeting about his own assassination target, so you could find a disguise and work your way right into the meeting room where Faba is waiting. If you want to keep your distance, get into the race tower and use it as a sniper nest, taking Faba out from across the track.
I’m going to stick to my tried and tested method of aimlessly wandering around and playing with disguises until inspiration strikes. I don’t play Hitman to kill people, I play it to find Agent 47 a new job. Cleaner, bartender, masseuse—he’s great at them all.
Samuel and Phil take it a bit more seriously. They’re in the middle of a Hitman 2 leaderboard war, and I’m worried that poor Sean Bean is going to get caught in the middle of it.
Sean Bean will only be sticking around for 14 days, so if you fancy joining the many, many people who have killed him, you’d better hop to it.
Nu-Hitman’s time-limited Elusive Targets are nothing new, but this latest is worth a spot of ballyhoo because a) it’s the first one for the simply sublime Hitman 2 2 b) it’s only bloody Boromir himself.
Sean Bean’s famed for meeting a great many sticky Hollywood ends, which the Elusive Target nicknamed ‘The Undying’ makes a huge theatrical wink towards. We already knew the other Mr Bean’s head was due to appear on Agent 47’s chopping block (too soon?), but today’s the day. Go forth and stick something sharp into Sharpe. (more…)
There s little else quite so frighteningly intimidating, yet wonderfully liberating, as stepping into a new Hitman game for the first time. While the first level is a fraction of the size of the others, these vast assassination playgrounds allow you to explore, poke around, and get up to all sorts of murderous mischief. It’s the kind of game where discovery is half the fun.
For the times when it can be overwhelming, or where you just need that extra bit of information to master the level, I suggest you direct your eyes to this steadily assembled and soon-to-be robust Hitman 2 guide somewhere that ll give you a surreptitious nod in the right direction if you re looking to find all Hitman 2 disguises, how to assassinate every target in Hitman 2 or how to beat Hitman 2 s challenges. Think of me as your Agent Diana Burnwood on the web, delivering all the intel you need for a successful mission. Good luck, Agent 47. (more…)
For the grand finale of Agent 47 s latest global assassination stint, the hairless hitman for hire takes his well-pressed suit to a secret patch of land in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean. There, members of the world s richest elite are holding an event in an elaborate ruined castle. They’re gathering to discuss how they re planning to influence society in their favour while also surviving the inevitable downfall of civilisation they re undoubtedly contributing to as well. Eliminating two of their key leaders could probably do the planet some good, so I m here to help you with the Isle of Sg il Silent Assasin walkthrough.
The busy streets of Mumbai are the perfect place for an assassin like Agent 47 to slip through unnoticed and eliminate his targets unseen. There s three of them in this stage too sleazy gangster Dawood Rangan, self-appointed Queen of the Slums Vanya Shah and mysterious gang lead The Maelstrom so he ll seriously have his work cut out for him.
The quiet suburbs of Whittleton Creek don t seem like the sort of place an assassin would be required to visit. When an elderly member of a world-manipulating organisation for the elite and his over-zealous security detail live there, though, it s just another classic job for Agent 47. This change of scenery means different tactics are required to pull off the perfect hit on Janus and Nolan Cassidy, while gathering the intel required to complete your mission. Exactly how, you ask? You best read on for our Whittleton Creek Silent Assassin walkthrough to find out. (more…)
Strolling into a heavily crowded racing event and assassinating two targets without being seen sounds like an impossible task but it s just another day in the death-dealing office for Agent 47. Pulling off the perfect hit, though, requires some serious planning. This guide will go over each step that you should take in order to get the Silent Assassin rank on the Miami mission.
