Update 0.0.04 is here! We can read your minds... “Another update so soon?” yeah, for real, another update for y’all to sink your teeth into.

What have we done this time we hear you cry. Well…

A new level, but not just any old level. We’re giving you the legendary Pyramid Ledges of NYC! You may recognize it from such videos as “Mindfield”, “Fulfill the Dream” “Short Ends” “Verso” and The (L) Train. Who’s going to be the “King of New York”?

We’ve also added 14 new historical challenges to this new level as well… it’s time to do some research y’all.

A sight of beauty!

**New Flips Tricks**

Impossibles!

For Regular, Switch, Nollie and Fakie

Now, these aren’t impossible to do at all, they’re pretty damn easy.
Just scoop round with your back foot stick and flick down with your front foot stick!

Late Flips and Shuvs!

Now your skater has learned late flips! Go into the ‘Flip Tricks Settings’
And turn them on!

(Nollie Late Flip)

(Front foot Late Heel)

(Late Front Foot Shuvs)

(Late Back Foot Shuvs)

10 late tricks for each stance, both feet and all control settings!

WAIT, that’s not all!

We’ve unglued your front and back feet from your deck, so now you can do sexy Ollies One foot (or Ollie Norths, depending on the age) and Souths, as well… if that name even exists...

We don’t know anymore nowadays!

(Northern Ollies)

(Southern Ollies)

**Board Control**
We have now made Session even more unique for your play style by adding the Board Control feature which allows you to have more control (believe it or not) over the board! When Flicking the sticks the board can now be tweaked depending on the input on the stick.
(This is not supported with the Legacy input mode)

Flick the stick more vertically down and the board will rocket.

Flick the stick vertically up will cause the board to dip downwards.

That’s just the flips, we’ve done the same with pop shuvits, late flips and the age-old Ollie, so depending on where your stick input was made the board will tweak.

This isn’t just for pure style and aesthetics pleasure, it’s much more than that. It’s a great mechanic to achieve more control and precision when getting into your grinds and slides. But it does also look very damn steezy.

**Local Filmer Mode**
It's time to make friends and make some skate footage with the new Local Filmer Mode! With an additional controller or using Steam Remote-play-together, a second player can take control of a second camera and then watch what you've filmed in the replay editor!

You can try this out by going to the Experimental / Local Filmer Mode menu!

We'll be sharing more information about this new feature and its controls in a later post!

* The Local Filmer Mode is an experimental feature and early in development. It has not been optimized yet, so you'll need a pretty strong machine to keep that FPS up. ;)

From here at crea-ture studios, we want to thank everyone for the ongoing support, love and feedback and don’t forget to join us on our Discord server https://discord.gg/hrgBJPT! So that’s What’s up and what’s gone down since the last update.
keep shredding and stay rad!

MODDING:

To anyone who modded pre-0.0.0.4 patch.
You'll most likely get FATAL ERROR when launching the new update.
Key is to unpatch the EZPZ patch, just like we did for patch 0.0.0.3. If that still fails, Backup/Delete the game files and install fresh.
If the EZPZ Patch is not working:
Uninstalling the game and also manually delete local files seems to be the solution (for those who don't have mods installed)
To do so, Hit Win+R, paste %userprofile%AppDataLocal and backup/delete the SessionGame folder.
Then, in the STEAM installation folder, backup/delete your Session folder under
...Steamsteamappscommon
Then reinstall the game.

Sup all!

We felt we needed an additional hotfix because of a few "annoying bugs" that were popping up too often and was diminishing the experience.

Here's an overview of the fixes / changes for this hotfix patch:

  • Graphic downgrade has been restored
  • Moonwalk push has been vanquished!!!
  • Goofy (switch) 50/50 / boardslide issue fixed
  • Front / back foot input mode remaining broken grinds / slides are fixed
  • All supported video resolutions can now be used in Video Settings

That's it for now! Hopefully these changes make things a little better for now :)

Sup all!

After releasing update 0.0.0.3 yesterday the feedback has been great! Thanks again everyone!

That said, we felt that a few things deserved a quick fix in light of some of the changes to the last update. We know there are plenty more to fix, and worry not, they will all come in due time. :)

So enough of that, here's an overview of the fixes / changes for this hotfix patch:

Game play / Features
  • Legacy tricks should now be more consistent and easier to call on all stances
  • Small and Normal scoop input mode flip tricks have been tweaked making it easier to do scoop tricks in each mode.
  • Flip tricks speed has been normalized (was too fast for some)
  • Switch flip trick input speed now works and affects all flip tricks.
  • Front / Back foot input issues with Switch 360 flip tricks fixed (tre's, laser flips, shuv's, etc.)
  • Front / Back foot input issues with Grinds
  • Fixed issue when not being able to flip out after a revert while in a manual
  • Input is more responsive after completing a powerslide
  • Fixed some issue with moving objects in object placement, objects no longer move up walls.
  • Radio station are now selected randomly

Visuals / Art
  • Reduced shadow draw distance and amount of cascades to help performances
  • Darken NYC sky light strength
  • Lighten indoor park overall ambient light
  • Added funny "At your own risk" sign near the mini-ramp because its barely "skateable" at this point. :)
  • Switch Smith and Feeble animations were fixed

That's it for now! Hopefully these changes make things a little better for now :)

Here are the update notes for the Session 0.0.0.3 update!
(It’s a good one!)

A New level to shred! (you may recognize it) – The police barriers in the Brooklyn Banks Archways have been removed, which now gives you access to the crea-ture park! From a long hiatus and with the help from the NYC locals the crea-ture park has had a little face-lift.

New grinds & slides animations
With better physics into transitions (flip tricks do not break at the apex anymore and have much better momentum to catch up with your skater to make you a legend!)

Smiths, Feebles, Willys & Over Willys are now more stable and lock-in easier than before. So if you bail, it’s on you!

The new trick system allows the controls to feel more responsive and accurate.
Your skaters’ orientation when landing now affects your speed and the chances to slam your face on the concrete.
The skater will now look forward after landing 180's into grinds and landings… DAMN!

The Skater now adapts to grinds as they change.
Grinds & slides into slides & grinds are now supporting a wider range of combinations without popping.

New level layout feature. Choose between a fictional scenario of the Brooklyn Banks or the real-life counterpart configuration.

Since you can now bail when landing off rotation, Reverts now have 2 additional options to adapt your play style;
- Reverts on: bail, saves you from bailing when landing off rotation by auto reverting.
- Always On: to always keep you in the optimal direction.
Now y’all be able to have auto reverts to get those steezy 180s you’ve always wanted.

There’s a new Radio Station in collab with Chillhop Music. Chillhop Music is the leading label/curator for lo-fi and “chill” instrumental hip hop music which Generated over 1.2 billion streams in 2019. There are now 22 Lo-Fi tunes to sit back and skate too.

6 more indie artists and 11 new tracks have been added to our highly popular Community Radio Station!
Escante
Hiraeth Bokyo
Jpdreamthug
MITUS
SkyBlew
Whisker Biscuit

Remote play together integration.
Now you can play your games of skate online through the STEAM streaming feature with the same name. WOAH!

You now have more control over your objects from the object dropping. You can now rotate AND move your objects up and down for better and easier DIY spot creations.

A new hardcore feature called Big Drop Landings.
No more dropping from any height and landing without consequences. Now you must work on your landings from high heights, by flicking the stick in opposite vertical directions in sync with your impact on the ground.
We expect some heavy slams while you get used to this new mechanic.

For all you San Van vacationists, our new Legacy inputs AKA "Skate-like controls" are just what you’re looking for! Now you can play Session in a more familiar manner using the left stick to navigate and the right sticks for tricks and grinds.
We hope you enjoy your stay in Brooklyn!
(Please note that this feature is still in early stages of development, so some features, like grinds like Feeble/Smith grinds, Willys & Overwillys will not be working properly yet!)

Various Bug fixes and level optimization.
We’re skipping all the boring details, but some of the nasty bugs (ie: sticky pop slams) got sorted out and the overall experience should feel much more pleasant!

XBOX News! Double up the effort!
We have teamed up with a local experienced studio named iLLOGIKA. They’ll be working with us on the XBOX version! This will help get the game on your consoles this spring! Now we have a dedicated team working on the Xbox version, while we remain focused on improving and building Session. Many hands make little work!

EXPERIMENTAL FEATURES

Game Of Skate
You and a homie can sit back and battle it out on the sofa like the old days, with the Games Of Skate, this is still an experimental feature, which will hopefully show y’all which direction we want to go with the Game Of Skate feature.

Trick names
Under the Experimental section, you’ll be able to turn on The Trick Display feature. You will now be able to see the names of the tricks you do you on screen.

GAMEPLAY SETTINGS

Grind Input mode
Full Release Mode; The input must be released after popping a trick and then re-applied in order to apply weight to the desired foot/ feet for all types of grinds
Partial Release Mode; The input must be released after popping a trick and then re-applied in order to apply weight to the desired foot/feet. Only for grinds using one foot (IE: Nose grinds, Five-0, etc)
No release Mode; The input does not have to be released after popping a trick. For the weight to be applied to the desired foot/feet for all types of grinds.

Pop Height Mode
Global; Pop heights for Lo/Mid/High tricks remain the same regardless of stance/ foot position.
Unique; Pop heights for Lo/Mid/High tricks vary depending on your stance/ foot position. IE, when skating Switch, pop heights will be lower.

Auto Grind Mode
When auto grind is turned on, you (the skater) will automatically try to grind or slide without having to enter any input at all, like AT ALL when landing on a ledge or rail!

ADDITIONAL FEATURES

We have now made the map like a banana split and have split it into two sections, NYC and The Underground parking lot. By doing this, it helps overall performance, optimization process and GPU usage. To access the new underground parking lot, locate one of the entrances to the parking lot and hold A (There's two at the moment)

New Custom Camera Option
You can now customize the camera so it fits your personal needs and play style.

New Object Dropped Objects
We’ve added some new toys for you guys to play within the object dropper;

Art
Lighting has been updated and optimized
A massive optimization pass has also been done in NYC, you should definitely notice fps improvement on that end!
All this adds up to a sexier looking Session with less GPU usage without compromising graphics. So it still looks fantastic.

From here at crea-ture studios, we want to thank everyone for the ongoing support, love and feedback and don’t forget to leave a Review/comment bellow if you like the game and feel free to join us on our Discord server Discord ! So that’s What’s up for this time but keep shredding and stay rad!

Hotfix Early Access v0.0.0.1b

Sup everyone!

While we’ve been heads down working on the Xbox One version for the past couple weeks, this hasn't kept the team from working on bugs, crashes, fixes, polish and overall optimisation among other things.

We have gathered feedback and issues you've encountered in the forums and messages we received and came up with our second of many more Hotfixes to come :)

Thanks a lot for your feedback and do no hesitate to give us more. We hope these fixes will help you with some of the issues you've encountered and will make you appreciate the game a little more! ;)

We've highlighted the main issues we fixed / worked on, along with many other small things that have been done that weren't worth mentioning, but should nonetheless help with the overall experience too.

Below is an overview of the more important issues we fixed / worked on in the game for this update.

Montage Tool

With this update, we fixed a number of issues and crashes within the Montage Tool and added a new camera playback mode to help when keying camera angles.

Skating Experience

- Push strength has been increased.

- Near Camera position has been slightly adjusted.

- On a general note, several flip trick’s have been reworked and corrected for all stances.

- Grind connectivity has been tweaked to ease the alignment.

- Rotations have been smoothed out and should now be easier to 180 consistently.

- Respawn (after bailing on a grind) close camera bug has been fixed.

- Reverts can now be adjusted/deactivated from the Options / Gameplay Menu

- Goofy (Reg’s Switch) Smith/Feeble and Willy/Over Willy are now working as designed.

Art

- General performance should feel better/smoother and some FPS gain should be noticed

- Optimisation has been made to reduce the GPU usage.

- Overall city collision fixes.

- Overall art optimisation.

- Night light has been improved

- Shadow distance and cascade have been optimised.

Developer note:

Manual catch state and manual trick catch Issues

In its current state, Manual and Automatic catch modes are sharing the same database.
In order to fix the ‘’manual catch late shuv bug’’ and to make the development of the feature more efficient, we decided to separate both databases and give manual mode its own. This way, it will be much easier to work on manual catch mode without impacting the results of the automatic one. This implies bigger changes than a singular bug fix, forcing us to keep a working automatic catch treflip at the expense of a broken manual flip tricks for the moment. Basically, the ‘’manual catch late shuv bug’’ won't be fixed with this patch. We thank you for your patience! With this new method, it will give us the necessary freedom to make both tricks modes shine as much as possible.

Thanks and more to come!

Hey homies,

First and foremost!

Thanks EVERYONE for supporting us over Early Access!

So far, reception is great and we are definitely excited to start this journey with you guys!

As you might know, crea-ture is formed of 6 extremely devoted developers.
Yesterday was a big day for us and we already knew by the fact we are a small team, strange and nasty bugs that we never encountered during dev would happen.

As of day one, we quickly found that a lot of you had issues with Reverts and more than we expected are on Windows 7.

1. Mannequin shader Issue

Through watching user videos, we found (even though it wasn't breaking the experience) the presence of a weird super pale skin shader and shadow oily stains bugs in Epic Mode.

2. Windows 7 fix

Even though Windows 7 wasn't part of the minimal requirements, we still wanted to try our best fixing it so you guys can enjoy SESSION as too.

So with this Hotfix, Windows 7 users should now be able to play.

***One important note to keep in mind*** Since Microsoft announced that Windows 7 will become officially an unsupported platform in January 2020 could with the fact we have upcoming features that includes Third Party tools only supporting Windows 8+, we may not be able to support this platform as efficiently in the future.

Reverts

Reverts should now be a little easier on lower frame rates. This should help using the revert feature and complete the Tutorial.
We may still have to work on that particular issue as it seems to be also bound to different/untested controller hardware. Thanks for letting us know regarding that subject.

GPU Crash

Another issue we are looking at is the GPU crash.
Unfortunately, this is a pretty bad one and not related to the actual game but to some particular configuration of different video cards and unreal engine core.

We found out overclocked computers often have this issue (diagnosed on several other Unreal Engine based games) or caused by outdated video cards.

Until we find a solution, we invite you to limit your frame rate in the options and if it isn't enough, lower the dynamic shadow quality as they seem to be the bottle neck in most situations. Since the game is currently 100% dynamic lighting, it is definitely more demanding on the GPU.

Lots of optimizing in progress since we are also hard at work trying to get Session in the hands of Xbox One players for XGP as soon as possible as we promised, so stay tuned. But, don't worry we are still working in parallel on the Steam version fixing bugs, etc.

Also, we are currently working on making our road map more accessible and will be sharing that with you soon!

MASSIVE THANKS from the entire crea-ture Team!

Cheers and have a great sesh!
