We are really sorry for the issues you’ve unfortunately encountered during the initial release. Every start can be harsh during the first moments of the release - That’s why our team is working hard in order to check, investigate, and fix every bug/issue you are mentioning in your posts.



We posted another changelog for the patch that was pushed a moment ago.
In a few hours there will be another one with more of fixes incoming!

Hello there, everyone!



Only 5 days remaining until the release!

This time we will focus on the last part of the gameplay, which happens during the catastrophe.
This is the moment when the gameplay mechanics will change from adventure to survival - be careful and watch your steps before getting into trouble!

After the explosion:



As you can see on the screenshot above, many parts of the submarine will be destroyed. Reduced visibility, the parts where you will have to move quickly, or you'll suffocate, or burn yourself alive will be stressful.

Sinking Submarine:

During the catastrophe you will have to use every possible way you will find - that means some parts of the submarine will be covered in water and you'll have to find your way through it!



Puzzle Mechanics:

Also, the puzzle quests revolving around escape will demand from the player to watch for clues, places to search for the possible way to aid himself.

The Kursk submarine disaster, the sinking of the Oscar-class submarine (Russian: Project 949A Антей Atomnaya Podvodnaya Lodka "Kursk" (APL "Kursk")) nuclear-powered submarine Kursk, took place during the first major Russian naval exercise in more than ten years, in the Barents Sea on 12 August 2000, killing all 118 personnel on board. Nearby ships registered the initial explosion and a second, much larger, explosion two minutes and fifteen seconds later, which was powerful enough to register on seismographs as far away as Alaska. The Russian Navy did not realise that the sub had sunk and did not halt the exercise or initiate a search for it for more than six hours. Because the sub's emergency rescue buoy had been intentionally disabled, it took more than 16 hours for them to locate the sunken boat.

While trying to complete your mission, you become witness to the dramatic events which shook the world at that time.

After the explosion:



At 11:29:34 (07:29:50 UTC), seismic detectors at the Norwegian seismic array (NORSAR) and in other locations around the world recorded a seismic event of magnitude 1.5 on the Richter scale. The location was fixed at coordinates WikiMiniAtlas69°38′N 37°19′E, North-East of Murmansk, approximately 250 kilometres (160 mi) from Norway, and 80 kilometres (50 mi) from the Kola Peninsula.



Secondary event:

At 11:31:48, two minutes and 14 seconds after the first, a second event, measuring 4.2 on the Richter scale, or 250 times larger than the first, was registered on seismographs across Northern Europe and was detected as far away as Alaska. The second explosion was equivalent to 2–3 tons of TNT.

The seismic data showed that the explosion occurred at the same depth as the sea bed. The seismic event, triangulated at 69°36′N 37°34′E, showed that the boat had moved about 400 metres (1,300 ft) from the location of the initial explosion. It was enough time for the submarine to sink 108 metres (354 ft) and remain on the sea floor for a short while.

This week we prepared a comparison video to show you how much the game changed during those 3 years of development. It shows how much the game’s graphics have improved over that time.
Comparison is divided between 2 versions - one which was shown during Gamescom 2016 in Cologne, Germany, and the second one is the current version, still being improved!

Every Submarine is divided by sections, so this time we will focus on some of them:

Section I:

Torpedo Section - one of your main goals as the spy in order to collect the intel, as well as the Control Center, and the Active Sonar.



Section II:

You’ll see the IT Room, and the Main Command Room, both of those places are very important for the crew.



Section III:

We really pay attention to details - hence the player's room alongside another Command Center in Section III. Those are the locations we are showing this week.

In order to provide the best experience possible, we decided to slightly delay the release of our game - The new release date of KURSK is November 7th, 2018.



After your comments and feedback on the gameplay trailer we released a couple of weeks ago we wanted to take some time in order to polish the elements which you’ve mentioned, hence the updated release date.



It is not a coincidence - on the same date a movie about the same tragedy “KURSK” will have it’s premiere, so we want to make sure that November will be a month full of mentions about both productions!

Another Friday, so here is another one of our updates about the Game.

HERE IS SOME INFORMATION ABOUT THE SUBMARINE:

K-141 Kursk was a Project 949A class Antey (Russian: Aнтей, meaning Antaeus) submarine of the Oscar-class, known as the Oscar II by its NATO reporting name, and was the penultimate submarine of the Oscar II class designed and approved in the Soviet Union. Construction began in 1990 at the Soviet Navy military shipyards in Severodvinsk, near Arkhangelsk, in the northern Russian SFSR. During the construction of K-141, the Soviet Union collapsed; work continued, and she became one of the first naval vessels completed after the collapse. K-141 was inherited by Russia and launched in 1994, before being commissioned by the Russian Navy on December 30, as part of the Russian Northern Fleet K-141 was named Kursk after the city, following the naming system for Soviet submarines.
Kursk was assigned to the home port of Vidyayevo, Murmansk Oblast.

HATCHES



Every section of the submarine is divided by hatches.
The player will have to get across every one of them in order to get to another place.

CAFETERIA



Yes, the crew obviously has to eat. As you can see on Kursk there was a cafeteria, in which the crew had an opportunity to have their meals. It was really close to the kitchen!

ELECTRICIAN'S WORKSHOP



As you will wander around the submarine you will encounter many different places assigned to perform some tasks. One of them is the Electrician’s Workshop, where some of the fixes, as well as repairs were made.
