When singing you will have to admit that a dwarf's voice might be powerful and resounding, however, not the most harmonic. Therefore, the dwarves have long been taught to
PLAY INSTRUMENTS
And a strong voice shall be accompanied by something rhythmic, whether it be the sole drumming of a dwarf‘s fingers on the ax or the play of an instrument. As you endorse in song and play you start remembering more songs. When alone what better way to find some comfort by playing on your newly found instrument, especially if it helps your memory, and who knows what else a dwarf is capable of doing with an instrument.

Almost as much as drinking and mining a dwarf loves to:
SING
When the spoken word is not enough to express relief, happiness or pride - or when just drunk - a dwarf will turn to song. Whether songs of war or tales of glory, some have been sung for so long even the stone walls remember the lyrics. However, the powerful resounding voice of a dwarf may carry far into the mountain, so beware, and check the alleys and the darker corners, not to make creatures of the dark aware of your presence.

More useful than you might expect, an important feature will be:
TALK
Exploring dark and narrow spaces for a length of time and alone, leaves a trace even in the most sturdy brain. The intense inspection of the environment and constant tension due to possible danger, lets some strange thoughts flourish. Thoughts that - without realizing it - form into words that then unwillingly cross the lips. Before long you might find yourself talking to yourself. It may be to comfort the loneliness but possibly if you listen closely to your own words your brain might have already realized something you haven't yet.

A fairly weak attack, but possibly your most strategic move might be to:
THROW STONE
Your heavy two-handed ax, one of the most terrifying weapons when wielded skillfully diminishes in impressiveness as you compare it to the jaws of the monstrous creature in your path. Even though you are sure about the path you’ve chosen you must admit to yourself that you are not ready to take on this thing. In despair, you turn around, but as you do so a small stone in front of you catches your sight. You pick it up and it feels smooth and cool in your palm. Standing there you consider if the monster reacts to sound and if you might be able to mislead it. Well, giving it a try won’t harm .. unless .. you hit the beast! RUN!

Whether you are trying to unveil a hidden object from inside a crate or need to take a barrel apart for firewood. A useful ability will be to:
DESTROY
You lift up a wooden box standing in your way and are about to toss it to the side as you realize something jingling on the inside. As you shake the box you recognize the sound as something small and metallic - might be something which could come to good use. In an attempt to break the wooden box you thrust it to the ground but it won't break. Instead of giving it a second try you grab your axe, lift it high and force it down smashing the wooden box. Fragments fly in all directions and you shoulder your axe once more. As you kneel down to closely examine the contents of the wooden box it unveils just what you had been looking for. Your journey may continue.

As you will be wandering in dark cold dungeons you also should be able to:
INFLAME
The room you enter is cold and spacious. There are only rocks and the remains of barrels and crates lying around. It seems you have found what was once a storage room. You are tired, and this place offers the perfect space to get some rest as it is secluded and shielded off against possible enemies. If only it wasn’t for the cold. But with ingenuity, you collect the remains of the barrels and crates and set them alight with your torch. You have kindled a warming and illuminating fire.
Last time you've learned that one of your skills is attacking, so logically you also should be able to:
Block
You have already heard the grumble of the giant troll as you’ve entered the abandoned jail, now it is time to face him in the mines. Prepared as you are, you hit him first strike, yet his enormous size and power still grants him advantage. But, even the boldest dwarf does not wade into battle without a repertoire of blocking skills, and the longer the battle, the more the odds turn to your side.
While some games successfully manage to refrain from using any physical confrontation, surviving in an abandoned dwarven fortress needs the ability to:
ATTACK
The sun has almost risen. You have managed to get a few hardly needed hours of sleep after spending the whole day walking around long corridors trying to find your way through this abandoned place.
You wake up by the sound of a cracking tree branch not too far away from you. As you are quickly hiding behind a misty rock, waiting with your heavy dwarven ax steady in your hands, you take a peek where the noise came from and see a big furry creature coming towards you. 'It must be a bear', you think, as you prepare for a fight as the creature approaches sniffing the air around him. As the beast comes out of the shadow, you realize that this 'bear' is rather an eight-legged monster with a furry back.
