We’ve been working on Cat Lady for about a year now, and are excited to tell you that the mansion doors are open. We’ve been hard at work updating the game since Beta (you can check out some of the updates we’ve made in our last devlog) and we’ve even released a roadmap for you all to check out so you know what kind of content we’ll be adding to the game prior to its official release in Spring 2020.



Needless to say, we’re most excited to be able to open the doors to our process and take this journey with you all: since this game is in Early Access, it means we’ll be looking to your feedback to help inform those tweaks and adjustments that we make as we prepare the final version.

If you want to join our community of folks playing Early Access, join our Discord! Through the next two weeks (the end of October) we’ll be holding weekly fan creation contests for folks to win Cat Lady prizes (as well as the opportunity to win keys to the game)!



Fun tangent before signing off: If you’re in the Portland area this weekend, and want to meet the devs of Rose City Games and play lots of fun indies, stop by the Portland Retro Game Expo! We’ll be showing off Cat Lady AND Garden Story there Friday through Sunday, alongside lots of other incredible Portland indie games.

We've got a new devlog up, as well as our road map through Early Access!

The last two weeks have been filled with us both reflecting on what we’ve learned from the beta weekend as well as preparing for the Early Access launch. Before we get back to prepping for October 17th (it’s coming up so quickly!), we wanted to make sure to share two things with you to tide you over before that fateful day!

First up? Our latest vlog that goes into some of our favorite moments from Beta as well as why we’re choosing to go with Early Access (and what we’re most excited for).

We are so excited to start this next chapter of the Cat Lady journey. The feedback from Beta Weekend already has improved the game in so many ways, and we’re especially ready to be able to include the whole community throughout the game’s time in Early Access!

Not only are we planning on new areas of the mansion…but you have lots of new cats, enemies, and upgrades to look forward to. Next week, we’ll reveal our road map that’ll show you what you can expect from us throughout the process (and get even more pumped to play!)

Our goal with the Beta was to gather feedback about how we can improve the game and make sure it’s moving in the right direction, and we definitely feel we achieved that goal with your help.

We’ve been hard at work with the feedback received, and we wanted to compile it into a handy-dandy image for you:

Last weekend was a Rose City Games first: it was Cat Lady’s Beta Weekend!



We’re still compiling all the info that we gathered, so keep a lookout for a more detailed post next week that dives into some of what we learned and hope to improve from your feedback and from watching you play (as well as some fun facts!)


One of the things we learned? We gotta buff some of these bosses! ;)

Today is the first day of PAX West, and oh my goodness, WE’RE SO EXCITED.

We want to give everyone a chance to play Cat Lady, regardless of whether or not they’re able to see us in Seattle, so we’re happy to share that Sept 20th -22nd, we’ll be running a Private Beta Weekend for Cat Lady! This’ll be your chance to play the game and, we hope, provide us feedback on what we’ve got so far.

Ahhh ~ it’s that time of year again. The mornings are crisper, the nights longer, and … what? PAX West is here already?!

This PAX West is our second as a studio, and we’re incredibly proud of how much we’ve all grown and achieved in one year. Last year, we showed The World Next Door for the first time, and learned so much. Now, we’re back with not one, not two, but THREE titles, one of which we’re helping co-publish! It feels good.

We wanted to create a quick cheat sheet for anyone who’ll be in the area so you can find us to

Cat Lady’s music is integral in setting the stage for all the shenanigans, and we’re still over the moon that we get to work with the indie game dynamic duo: Jim Guthrie and JJ Ipsen! They’ve been busy making sure your journey through the mansion will keep your head bobbin’ and toes tappin’ as you collect kitties and figure out just what the heck is going on with Grandma.
