We're happy to announce that the migration of outposts and conquerable stations to faction citadels will occur during an extended downtime next Tuesday, June 5th.

Downtime will begin at the usual time of 11:00 UTC, and should last approximately three hours. This timeframe is however only an estimate, as Tranquility's database will be performing the following operations during downtime:

• Moving more than 53,300,000 inventory items.
  
• Moving more than 75,800 market orders.
  
• Moving more than 33,000 contracts.
  
• Taking care of more than 240,000 bookmarks.

Several tests have been carried out on mirrors of Tranquility's database to ascertain how long this will take, and rough estimates right now show that it should be within around two and a half hours, with the addition of a number of other downtime jobs and changes that need to occur.

Tranquility may be online and accepting connections earlier, or later than expected, depending on database performance. Please keep an eye on the @EVE_Status twitter account for details of this downtime next Tuesday. There'll also be a forum thread on the official forums to discuss this on Tuesday while the migration is occuring!


The full details of everything included in this update can be found in this devblog, but there are a few important reminders for Outposts and Conquerable Station owners and operators:

• Ensure that the owning corporation is correct
  
• Ensure you have preset a Default Corp Profile (details below).
  
• Be sure to check the levels of access within this profile, including who has access to rent offices, dock, or access the other services available
  
• Ensure you have preset a Default Reinforcement Time and Day (details below).
  
• Be ready to fit your structure.
  
• The Faction Fortizars will be in an Invulnerable state as mentioned above, and during this time they can be fitted with the appropriate defences you feel they need.

Since the March release, it has been possible to set a Default Profile for a corporation. This profile applies to any newly deployed structures, but is also the ACL profile that will be applied to the Faction Citadels during the Outpost Day event.

To set a Default Profile, right-click against the profile you choose and select "Set as default profile".



It is also possible to set a Default Reinforcement Time and Day for the corporation.



Once Outposts and Conquerables are converted into Faction Citadels they will enter a temporary invulnerable mode. During this invulnerability time the structure can be fitted freely, but cannot activate modules, launch fighters, or begin unanchoring. Reinforcement time and day changes can be queued during this time but will require the standard 7 days to take effect. It is therefore a good idea to set this default before the change is scheduled to happen.

The Invulnerable mode will last until Thursday June 7th. On June 7th structures will enter their standard shield vulnerable state.

The summer expansion also includes a whole host of planetary interaction updates and improvement. These changes will make planetary installations easier to maintain and improve the flow and visual feedback during initial setup.

New indicators will show when nodes aren't fully set up, new pinning mechanics will make it easier to drop multiple nodes of the same type, and a whole host of new tooltips will give guidance on how to use various elements of planetary interaction, guiding capsuleers through setup with more detail than ever before.

We are delighted to announce that the summer expansion, EVE Online: Into The Abyss, will be deployed next Tuesday, May 29th, during a slightly extended downtime.

Downtime for the deployment of Into The Abyss will begin at the usual time of 11:00 UTC, and will run for a total duration of 30 minutes.

We anticipate that the cluster will be back online and accepting connections by 11:30 UTC.

We're delighted to announce that the fifteenth anniversary celebration event, Operation: Conscious Interruption, is now live!

With this event, the Society of Conscious Thought repeat their tradition of marking the dawn of the Capsuleer Age every five years. This time, as part of the celebrations they are distributing of their powerful new Praxis-class battleship.

In an attempt to halt the release of a vessel that they see as a threat to their operations, the Drifters are raiding SOCT distribution facilities in an attempt to disrupt the Society's logistical plans.

Capsuleers are tasked with defending the Society's facilities and striking back against Drifter staging points to thwart this implacable foe and recover vital Society of Conscious Thought technology.

Operation: Conscious Interruption runs across the fifteenth anniversary of EVE Online, from today, May 2nd, through until May 15th.

With various challenges for pilots of all levels of experience, and a number of different encounters that are tailored toward rookies, solo play, group play and PvP, there's something in this event for everyone.
