Massively improved the German translation from the start of the game up until midway through New Shinjuku. A huge “Danke schon” to black ufu sheep for providing the translation.
Improved the lighting in Saint Sophia.
When using a gamepad, the Roll command has been replaced by Jump.
Fixed
Changed the default camera distance from 2m to 1.6m. This prevents some unwanted camera artefacts from occurring, and makes Lux a little more “in your face”. If she’s too close now, just adjust the Field of View in Options > Graphics.
Fixed a bug where sometimes the Puppy top would not be unlocked.
The Hunter Queen outfit had to be removed from the game, as it was tearing when Lux was sprinting, and unfortunately this couldn’t be fixed without a lot of work on the mesh. It’s been replaced by a new outfit: Casual Denim Black (which will be unlocked if you’ve already unlocked Hunter Queen).
[Saint Sophia] Fixed a bug where Lux would end up standing on an angle after destroying the first laptop in the level.
[New Shinjuku] All translated text was missing from the dialogues with Cailee.
Performance improvements
Optimised the performance of the Cremate particle effect across all scenes.
Unlocked all 5 Singapore Girl dresses. These will be locked again at the end of the Steam Lunar New Year sale. If you play the game during the sale, they’ll stay unlocked.
Permanently unlocked two of the Tanked range of dresses for all Early Access players.
Fixed
[Saint Sophia] Fixed a bug where the battle with the chupacabras at the camp could not be completed if Lux approached the camp from behind.
[New Shinjuku] Fixed a bug where Kep’n Richardson’s dialogue was being triggered too early.
Lux’s dance move #2 (Macarena) now works correctly.
Fixed flickering of the “3” decal on the wall of Dr Toepfer’s lab.
Fixed a bug where under certain conditions the camera could see under Dr Toepfer’s lab coat.
Fixed a bug in the Stats reporting for percentage of collectibles completed.
Fixed a bug in the Stats reporting for number of times Lux has died.
Number of weapons acquired is now reported correctly in Stats.
Enemies killed by grenades are now correctly recorded for the Stats window.
Apologies for another update just 24 hours after the last one! It was unavoidable as this build includes a critical fix: it patches an issue introduced in yesterday’s build, which can cause some of Lux’s clothing to be rendered incorrectly, or not at all. I really don’t want the game to be banned. :)
To sweeten things a little though, I’ve unlocked a bunch of new items earlier than I’d intended. More details below.
New features and improvements
Added 55 new collectibles across the game: 26 new clothing items and 29 new hair styles. These are unlocked the usual way: through looting dead enemies, and by smashing Outfits crates.
Fixed
Fixed a bug introduced in build 20190131 which can cause some of Lux’s clothing to be rendered incorrectly, or not at all.
Performance improvements
[Elysian Rendition] Slightly improved performance in the final battle by waiting until Brannan and the allies disappear before spawning the last robot.
[Dandy Valley] Fixed a game-breaking bug where the final enemy (usually a hatchet man) sometimes couldn’t be killed in the final battle in Dandy Valley.
[Elysian Rendition] Reduced the amount of work being offloaded to the GPU in this level, which could crash the game if too many enemies were on screen at the same time.
[Elysian Rendition] Fixed navmesh errors generated when the NPCs were spawned on loading the scene.
Performance improvements
[Elysian Rendition] Reduced the complexity of the terrain by removing mushrooms, clover, small rocks and some flowers. This increased the performance by a few frames per second, and to be honest, the scenery looks just as good.
[Elysian Rendition] Simplified the lighting in this scene and rebaked the light maps. This increased the performance slightly.
Our massive Christmas update is now live, with over 500 new clothing and hair items, and new dance moves and emotes! It also delivers a raft of bug fixes and performance enhancements, and the new target lock feature.
And for a limited time during the Steam Winter Sale sale, we’re unlocking Lux’s Christmas dress and all six of its textures - the perfect attire for saving the world over the Christmas break!
We have another update going live later today which will change the save file format. Unfortunately, this means you'll lose your game progress.
I've structured the save files now so that this shouldn't happen again. It's a byproduct of the game still being in development.
Please do NOT copy your save files somewhere else and copy them back after the update; this will cause game-breaking bugs.
I'm really sorry about this. To help ease the pain, there's a lot of really cool content arriving in 2019, starting as early as January. Don't touch that dial!
The game will be updated next Wednesday. The update will bring a lot of changes, including the new combat mechanics, the Appearance system, bug fixes and performance enhancements.
However, with so many changes in the underlying code, I had to change the save file format. This means that from next week, you’ll lose your progress as your save file will be deleted. I’m really sorry about this but it’s the downside of Early Access: because the game is still being developed, your game can be affected. Hopefully it will be worth it. :)
Resequenced will be auto-updated by Steam on December 12, so if there’s an achievement you want to complete, now’s the time to do it.
I hope you enjoy the changes. This update prepares the game for lots of new features which will be implemented in 2019. I’ll be updating the Roadmap later today to let you know more about that.
The good news is that the big update is nearly ready. The combat system is finished, and I’m just completing an all-new Appearance system which will replace Outfits. We should be able to start beta-testing in about a week, with a general release to everyone in mid-December.
Here are the main features:
New combat system: It’s much more fluid and dynamic. Lux can now move while firing and reloading, and RHETT’s new targeting system helps her lock-on to enemies and easily switch targets.
New Appearance system: Instead of 27 fixed outfits, there are now hundreds of different items which can be mixed together to create your own outfits. Dead enemies now drop clothing and hair designs in their loot.
Performance improvements: Average memory usage has dropped from 5GB to 3.2GB. This helps the game run much more smoothly, especially on PCs with 8GB of RAM.
Bug fixes and feedback requests: I’ve listened to your feedback, and all of the biggest bugs have been fixed. For example, you can now just run over loot dropped by enemies to pick it up, and the Level Up bug is fixed. The scanner behaviour has been improved, there's a new command to bring up a large map, and Lux can now jump as well as roll. And lots more - too many changes and fixes to list here!
There’s still a lot more to be done, but I want to get this update out to you ASAP, and then I’ll work on the next batch of changes.
The new DNA mod combat system is finished and guns are almost done too - I'm just cleaning up a few things. Here are some of the features arriving in the next update:
Target lock-on (big improvement to combat)
Melee combos
New DNA mod effects
New DNA attack casting animations
Four new guns
Two fully automatic weapons (not just burst fire)
Weapons now have recoil, allow reload while moving, etc.
Slimmer, leaner HUD
Much more freedom moving the camera around / extreme angles
Secondary detail maps added to make colours brighter on Lux's outfits
Improved performance
Huge bucket of bug fixes!
I've also added some new options. Here's a screenshot - let me know if you'd like to see anything else in there.
The update will go out to the closed beta group in about 2 weeks, with general availability for everyone in December. If you'd like to participate in the beta, just let me know (here or in Steam chat).
