It’s been 3 days since we’ve launched our game. Since the launch of both Alpha tests, Beta, and now in Early Access, we wanted to let you all know that we’ve been listening to your feedback and criticism, and we hear you loud and clear. And, after some in-depth internal discussion and careful consideration, we’ve decided to change certain aspects of the game to make the overall KurtzPel gaming experience better for everyone.
Before anything else, we would like to sincerely apologize for the trouble and controversy caused regarding certain game design decisions that were implemented early on.
First, we will turn the Blazing Fist and Diabolic Witch Karmas into completely F2P, core content. Completely free content, and we’ll be removing the DLC packages from the shop.
KurtzPel was initially developed to be a Buy to Play game. But, after we launched the initial Alpha Test, and then Global CBT, we decided to provide a gaming environment that was more ideal and accessible for everyone to enjoy. We believed that the best method of doing so would be to have KurtzPel as a Free to Play game. As F2P games go, content has to be released in waves. With Karma being the core/character content, we’d thought (mistakenly) that Sword Taliah and Dance of Wind would be the best weapon choices to make available for all Chasers; with the other 2 Karmas being unlockable. However, the realization that this would be perceived (understandably) as pay-to-win didn’t dawn on us until it was way too late. We were still stuck in the Buy-To-Play design mode, and this was something we should have seen. The main reason for our oversight is because, on paper, ‘Blazing Fist’ and ‘Diabolic Witch’ are not stronger than Sword Taliah and Dance of Wind. We believed that all Karma should operate accordingly to their roles of ‘Breaker’ and ‘Slayer’, and thought that we’d taken the game-balance of Karmas seriously enough to warrant the grind. We did not realize that for Chasers who could not play with these Karmas, that the lack of selection itself was a hard pill to swallow. It felt like it was P2W, expensive, too grindy… etc. Again, understandably so.
This goes against our core belief that KurtzPel should not be Pay-to-Win, and it was apparent that we’ve failed to demonstrate this belief. Furthermore, in order for everyone to actually enjoy our current content as intended, we’ve concluded that the best way to demonstrate this intended design, our belief and goal is to make all content that was available our previous test launches available to our players (not including the maxed out characters from Alpha, that’s silly).
As such, we will remove the Blazing Fist and Diabolic Witch Karmas/DLC from our Steam Storefront, and provide all 4 Karmas as free, core game content. It will take some time to apply these changes, as this requires a large game update. As well, we’ll be consulting with Steam, but we will do our best to have these changes applied for our next major update.
For those of you who were just excited to get right into the game and have already purchased the Karma(s), we are preparing some pretty solid compensation.
For those who’ve purchased 1 Karma DLC, we will be providing a new, never before seen costume set of respectable value, for free
For those who’ve purchased 2 Karma DLCs, we will be giving the aforementioned costume set, and 4 costume weapons, for free
This offer is for all Chasers who’ve purchased Karma. This doesn’t only apply to the Karma and Founder’s Pack DLCs purchased on Steam, but this compensation also applies to those who purchased the items via AP/CP
The only limitation to the compensation being offered: We will provide comp to all Chasers who’ve purchased the Karmas from the start of Early Access, up until the point that the content becomes free, and we remove the DLC packages from our Storefront
We have started development of the new costume-and-weapon set as this announcement is posted. Our goal is to have the sets ready by early June, in time for European launch. Further details will be shared during next week’s livestream.
Second, we will be creating a feature that allows players to redistribute Stats via in-game currency: CP (Currently, this feature is only available via Rebirth Ticket).
When players use a Rebirth Ticket, they do not gain extra stats. However, they are able to redistribute the existing Stats as they see fit. In order to increase any Stat by 1, another has to be decreased by 1. Hence, there’s an inherent disadvantage that comes with gaining an advantage. We did not initially think that this would provide an unfair advantage. However, it was still a feature that allowed a certain level of customization, only for those who paid. However, taking into consideration that each Karma is optimized to utilize specific Stats, and each Karma plays to different skill types, we fully understand the desire to attempt many different types of Karma combinations. That said, you Chasers get to maximize that outcome with Stat redistribution. To achieve that goal, and make it so that everyone gets the opportunity to do so, we felt that it’s only fair to provide this opportunity without the need for Rebirth Tickets. While this was a decision not to be taken lightly, it was a sudden one, and something that’s going to take some time to develop. We will begin developing the new Stat Redistribution feature immediately, we hope to complete development in time for the Europe launch.
Third, we will be developing a system that allows the Chasers to purchase Advanced Supply Boxes and Basic Supply Boxes with AP and CP. This is currently in development. Having the reward boxes available as Free-to-Play content was always part of our content release plan. However, for the sake of transparency, we wanted to share this information with everybody as soon as possible. Actually, the reason why the reward boxes are called ‘Supply Boxes’ is because it will be available to purchase with AP and CP. As indicated by name, ‘Basic Supply Boxes’ will require less AP and CP to open than ‘Advanced Supply Boxes’.
Fourth, Here are the answers to some of the questions Chasers had during our 5/03 Live Stream.

Any updates to the dates and/or content listed above, will be shared at a later date, via announcements. Those of you who are in Europe and Asia, please wait just a little while more.
As well, we just wanted to make you all aware that we are investigating some in-game issues that have been brought to our attention. We will have the following issues resolved as soon as possible.
Issue with Chasers constantly/automatically being moved to Single Channels
Channel information not being accurate, as well as the arrival point being different from the target point when moving between channels
Mission cooldowns being longer than intended
CBT rewards not being sent as intended
Clients crashing when attempting to participate in Custom Missions
Again, if you Chasers find any in-game issues and/or bugs, please bring them to our attention and report via CS ticketing(HELP button in the game or our website) as soon as possible.
Lastly… From the moment our KurtzPel team came together… 3 years ago, we were determined to develop a game that was neither Pay to Win, nor Grind to Win. This belief has not changed. However, when developing a Free-to-Play game like KurtzPel, that’s one hell of a challenge. It’s a challenge that we’ve accepted.
From now on, we hope to provide services that demonstrate our conviction to this design philosophy. In order to do so, we will continue to communicate with everyone and be receptive to your feedback.
Please support us, bear with us, and share your constructive feedback. This helps us stay focused. And though we know that not every decision can make everybody happy, all the time, we will do our absolute best to make the best game that we can.
In order to fix the issue that some Chasers have been experiencing, we will have an emergency maintenance.
Please take note, the emergency maintenance will be held from May.3rd 01:00 AM ~ 02:00AM PDT.
You will not be able to login or play during maintenance and the duration of the maintenance may be adjusted.
Here is the list that will be fixed this coming emergency maintenance.
1. Moving between channels will be smoother.
There will no longer be a priority channel after mission completion.
UI Display and Feedback has been improved.
2. All missions will now be visible as intended in the Mission Maps.
Missions that needs to be visible are no longer excluded from the missions list.
3. It will be easier for Higher Ranked Chasers to find matches.
Matching Range has been expanded, and the range expansion rate per queue duration has also increased.
4. Blazing Fist will no longer be able to escape further away using less Stamina by using ‘Full Speed’ (Right-Click while Dash) during Capture the Flag.
Blazing Fist will now use set amount of Stamina no matter the casting duration (Changed to consume upon cast instead of consuming while channeling)
5. Diabolic Witch Lightning total damage has been decreased
Lightning 3rd hit damage has been decreased by approximately 30%.
It is still possible to dodge between 2nd and 3rd hit.
6. Cinematics will now play English V.O. according to the settings.
When the options are at default (no change in settings), cinematics V.O. will no longer play Korean. Instead, it will also play English V.O. like the rest of the game.
Currently, you can fix the issue by switching to Korean V.O. apply then switching back to English V.O.
7. All Bow items will now have the same fixed critical stat as intended. (10%)
Fixed Items: Lire's Great Archer Longbow, Vanguard Longbow
8. All Gauntlet items will now have the same stats.
Fixed Item : 'Boxing Gloves' stat, ‘Action Endurance 5%’ will be changed to 'Physical CRIT Rate 7%’

For those of you that participated in the last Global CBT, we have a special gift for you! You can receive your ‘Vanguard’ item during the period stated below: - AMERICA server (NA/LA) : 2019. April.30 ~ June.30 - Europe server (EU/MENA) : 2019. June.5 ~ August.5 - ASIA server (ASIA/OCE) : 2019. July.3 ~ September.3
1. Character 1) You can only select Human as a race 2) You can select from both male and female gender. 3) There are 8 kinds of Idle Motions and 8 kinds of Voice. Based on the 16 Lua types, you will have a set of Idle Motion and Voice chosen for you (Idle Motion and Voice Set will be different depending on the gender.) 4) Voices are then separated into 3 different types based on the age group.
2. Karma 1) There are 4 available Karmas: Sword Taliah (Great Sword), Dance of Wind (Longbow), Diabolic Witch (Staff), and Blazing Fist (Gauntlet) 2) The standard 2 Karmas given to all Chasers is Sword Taliah (Great Sword) and Dance of Wind (Longbow). You can select which Karma to receive first during character creation. No matter which one you select, you will be able to receive the other one. 3) Other Karmas can be obtained with in-game currency (AP/CP) or through DLC packages. Once you purchase the items, a series of epic quests will unlock, allowing you to obtain the selected Karmas 4) Each Karma has 6 Karma Crystals (Normal Skills), 2 Unique Karma Crystals (Rage Skills), and 9~11 basic commands. 5) When you first acquire your Karma, you will receive 3 Karma Crystals (Normal Skills), and 1 Unique Karma Crystal (Rage Skill) as Default. 6) Other Karma Crystals can be obtained via rewards by increasing Affinity with NPCs.
3. Mission (PvP, PVE) 1) System - The mission order will be sorted daily. 2 types of PvP missions and a select number of PvE missions will be shown. - The number of PvE missions shown will depend on how many missions you’ve already unlocked. - Completed missions won’t be visible for a set duration and the next mission in order become visible. - You can queue up to 5 missions at once. - Real Time (PVP & Repeatable PVE) missions will reward CP (In-Game Currency), AP (Mastery), and various items - Flashback Missions (Epic Single Mission) does not have any additional rewards other than AP. - Custom Missions have been added. - You can create Custom Missions by using CP. 1:1. 2:2. 3:3 PvP options are available. - Custom Missions will have spectator mode, allowing other chasers to spectate the match. 2) Mission List - There are 3 different PvP Modes and 5 different maps. - Epic Missions that allows you to obtain Karma (PvE)/ Flashback Mission (Single PvE) is as follows: - Repeat Missions available after Epic Mission (Multi-Player PvE) is as follows: (You may have a chance to obtain special items in Repeat Missions)
4. NPC Affinity System 1) Each time you complete a Real Time Mission, there’s a set chance to meet an NPC. (Appears in mission map or in Eltheca). You can seek out certain NPCs to meet them more often. 2) You can gain affinity through chatting with NPCs. Selecting a different topic of discussion will allow you to get important key words which leads to greatly increasing with that particular NPC. 3) Reaching a certain milestone of affinity with an NPC will reward you with a gift.
5. Rank System (PVP) and PVE Difficulty System 1) Chaser PvP rank starts from Rank E. depending on the result of a PvP match, your ranking will go up or down from E < D < B < A < S < G 2) Your rank increasing or decreasing will be notified at the start of a match. 3) In PVE, Epic Missions that haven’t been cleared before will always start at the Beginner difficulty. After that, Repeat Mission (Multiplayer) or Flashback Mission (Single)’s difficulty will change depending on the result of your missions. (Difficulty: Easy < Normal < Hard < Veryhard < Grandchase). 4) Your reward will depend on the mission’s difficulty. You may be matched in a lower difficulty than your recommended skill level when playing in a multiplayer mode, in which case your reward may be lower than expected.
6. Equipment Modification System 1) Equipment (Weapon, Outfit, and Accessories) can be modified using the ‘Tome of Knowledge’ at the Library. There is a set number of times you can modify an equipment. 2) The following can be modified. Each Modification will cost CP (In-game currency). - Stat Increase (Weapon, Outfit, and Accessories) - Unlock Karma Crystal Slot (Weapon) - Unlock Sub Karma Crystal Slot (Weapon) - Increase AP Gain (Weapon) - Dye (Weapon, Outfit, and Accessories, not limited to modification limit, and depends on the number of dyes you possess)
7. In-game Shop 1) Now you may purchase various items via In-game shop. 2) The items you can buy at the shop is as follows: 3) Advanced Supply Box Rates are as follows:
8. Founder’s Pack 1) Purchasing the items as a Founder’s Pack will allow you to get the items cheaper than if you purchase them individually at the shop. 2) There is ‘Tier 1’ and ‘Tier 2’ Founder’s Pack. The contents of the packages and sales amount is as follows:

Other Changes 1) Bug found in CBT has been fixed. 2) Balance between Karma has been modified. 3) There are multiple mission maps throughout Eltheca. 4) Steam Achievement, Trading Card System has been updated. 5) Back Attack is removed. Slayers’ Critical damage has been modified. 6) There’s now a difference between Manual Resurrection and Auto Resurrection. 7) English V.O. added. 8) Portuguese, Spanish in-game text is now supported.
We have an exciting announcement to make. Something all of you have been waiting for, the release date of Early Access!
On April 30th 2019 at 09:00 PDT (April 30th 2019 16:00 UTC+0), Early Access will be available for Americas (North/South). After that, Europe will become available early June and Asia will be available early July.
As you all know well, KurtzPel is a fast-paced, online multiplayer game with a strong emphasis on PvP. That being said, a stable, strong connection between players is very important, and in order to provide Chasers the best service possible, we have to prioritize each region separately, and in order to do that, we have to open access region by region.
Physical server locations for a PvP game are extremely important. Based on the CBT data we’ve collected, for North America, we will have server locations on both the West & East coasts. Brazil will host the server for South America, and act as the central hub.
The location and size of each of these servers will be tweaked as Early Access progresses. Our prime goal will be to make the KurtzPel play experience be as smooth as possible, for all our players. In order to provide the best experience, we will not be allowing cross region play and also transferring of data from one region to another.
Though North and South America will be launching first, players from Europe and Asia need not fret! For players in Europe (June 2019) and Asia (July 2019), we would like to apologize for the delay, but we will do our best to bring you KurtzPel as soon as possible. We will be consistently and constantly updating KurtzPel after the Early Access release, and we will continue to improve the content and playability of the game.
With the upcoming release of Europe and Asia, we will be localizing the game for players in those regions. For South America, we will be adding ‘Brazil – Portuguese’ and ‘LATAM – Spanish’ for our localization line-up.
We want to also discuss the payment model of KurtzPel. In order to allow everyone to be able to experience KurtzPel, the core content of the game will be Free to Play! In the spirit and history of the quality games we produce at KOG, all players will be able to enjoy the core content of KurtzPel PVE & PVP for free.
In future updates, addtional Karma and Costumes will be available for purchase in the form of DLC on the Steam Store Page, or they’ll be added to the in-game Item Shop to be purchased directly. These will be cash purchase options. The price and content of these will be revealed in the future.
Lastly, Founder’s Packs for KurtzPel are currently in the works, and they will mainly consist of ‘Additional’ Karmas’ and ‘Exclusive Costumes set’ that can only be acquired by purchasing the Founder’s Pack. The details of the Founder’s Packs will be available at a later date.
It has already been a year and a half since we showcased KurtzPel to the World, and we would like to thank each and every one of you for taking this journey with us. We’re ecstatic to have you all here with us, being as excited about the official launch of KurtzPel as we are. We owe all of this to each of you, and we promise to improve and polish KurtzPel as we move forward. With your love of the game and constant feedback, we will achieve great things!

We have notified everyone that KurtzPel’s early access will be launching in the 1st Quarter of 2019 on Steam and through our Livestream. However, as you may have already guessed, we will have to delay the launch date by a little longer.
We originally planned to fix major bugs from CBT and release Early Access sometime in March, but once we received everyone’s feedback, we realized that we had more work to do than we initially anticipated.
We are currently polishing the good and removing the bad from KurtzPel while adding new functions in the game based on your feedback.
There will also be some features that won’t make it to the Early Access version but we will be sure to keep everyone looped in on the development progress and possible target launch dates.
Even though we cannot give you an exact date of the Early Access, we promise to release KurtzPel in the first half of Q2 and will be sharing more details on the early access, such as exact date, price model, and regions, in the near future.

As many of you will know, KurtzPel has hackers that are currently providing uncomfortable gaming environment to our fellow Chasers. In order to remedy this, we are going to hold an emergency maintenance that will address the following.

We spotted some critical bugs that affects the gameplay of KurtzPel and decided to hold an emergency maintenance. Please check below for the maintenance schedule.
Bug Fix - Fixed the bug where the captured flag goes to the wrong player - Fixed the bug where players who could not be resurrected would trigger the Resurrect interaction (Space Bar) - Fixed the bug where it makes the client crash at certain situations - Fixed the bug that prevented the dyed colors to be in sync - Lowered the damage of certain monsters - Fixed the bug when the matchmaking failed due to taking too long, it wouldn’t cancel right away and was canceled after a certain duration - Fixed the bug where NPC Crim no longer appeared after hitting 700 affinity
