Welcome to this community focused Pony Express! Last weekend we asked for you to send us clips and videos of you all playing Outlaws of the Old West. Here is just a taste of the content being made out there!
ThatGermanGuy has a great video showing off a ton of unique buildings:
This weeks Pony Express is going to be a little, uh, short…
It’s reports by people like Discord user TheyCallMeMoNk help us make the game a better experience for everyone. We will be looking into this little issue in short order. Short order!
Our Home on the Range Community Event ended yesterday, and while everyone who got to be a part of the vote had an amazing submission, Flannathir took it away with 23.8% of the vote. His barn looks amazing, and he definitely deserved the win. Prizes will be sent out to the winners soon! Congratulations!
Another success on the Community front is our community localization program. As of right now, the Russian, Brazillian Portuguese, Chinese, and Spanish localization efforts are 100% complete! German, Czech, and Portuguese are also well on their way to being completed. Thank you for all of your help!
Updates this week added the ability to sit, as well as the new prefabricated building: the Bank. Things like furniture, sitting, and prefab buildings wouldn’t be here without your feedback and suggestions. Prefab buildings are especially important in making a player town feel like a place that other players can visit for more reasons than just sightseeing. What kind of prefab buildings would you like to see in Outlaws?
Our efforts would be aimless without you guys sending us reports and issues. We are currently investigating everything from crashes to hacks, and we appreciate your patience while these issues get looked into and resolved.
Our first community event has come to a close, and what a doozy it was! This vote started off with a clear winner, but as time went on another rose to the top. Lets start this off with our three runner ups!
3. Phoenix
Phoenix received 10.2% of your votes, and it's easy to see why. There are tons of little details that make this more than just a square cabin in the woods. Great use of windows, corners, and fences.
2. Stephlyy
Stephlyy narrowly pulled ahead in the polls with 10.8% of the votes. We love the roof over the front deck, and the two overlooks that we can see with a view of the river. What makes this really stand out though is the lighting, and the star lit sky backdrop.
1. Christopher
What a great looking town by Christopher, and its no surprise that this was initially winning the vote. However, they ended up in the runner up category with 17.1% of the votes. The outlaws riding front and center, with horses tethered to the sides, makes this town feel like there is more to see just around the corner. It took careful planning to make those streets straight as an arrow too!
Finally, we have the grand prize winner. Almost a full quarter of the votes went to this submission, and it is the clear to see why they are the winner.
Grand Prize: Flannathir
This amazing looking barn makes great use of every construction tool in the toolkit, creating an incredibly unique barn that is massive! The multi-angle roof, chimney, and gate combine to make this look awesome and real.
The three runner ups will all receive a Steam key for Outlaws of the Old West that they can share with a friend, and Flannathir will receive a $50 USD Amazon gift card for being the Grand Prize winner!
Thank you all for helping and participating in this community event. Without your submissions and your votes, this wouldn't be possible. Until next time!
Edit: Patch notes updated to better reflect what has changed with this patch.
Psst... Greenhorn!

This morning we updated to version 1.0.8, which re-enabled Bounty Hunters! These dangerous folk are out to make some cold hard cash, and if your morality gets too low, you might find yourself down the barrel of their guns, or at the bottom of a bear’s stomach. You will need to think about each action you take, and the effect it might have on your morality. How will you survive out here, now that a little law has come to the west?
We have a ton of content coming soon, with more added every week (sometimes every day!). Stay tuned for more exciting developments!
We know that there have been concerns about hacking, especially in the last few days. We see your reports of the various issues and we want to make sure you understand that this is something that we are taking very seriously. Please send reports of any hackers you see to outlawsupport@wanderingwizard.com, so that we can compile all of the issues and focus our efforts on eradicating them.
Finally, we have a great beginners guide to Outlaws, created by slightlymad79 on YouTube!
If you’d like to share something fun or informative with us, send it to social@wanderingwizard.com and we may showcase it on our next Pony Express! We want to get your name out there, so don’t be shy if you are a small creator.
That’s it for us this week. Thanks for your continued support as we move into the weekend, and we will see you here next week!
Pay attention here, we're trying to teach ya somethin important. Never wake a man by shakin' him. He might just wake up and shoot ya! Watch out for strangers around these parts, bounty hunters have arrived. Wonder if they'll finally take care of the Skull Gang.
