Recently development has started up again - slowly. We're still working full time on TABS but some devs have done work on TABG.
Wilhelm - our game designer is working on a new map. One of the reasons TABG is hard to optimize is the old map. Currently, we're looking into new, more optimized smaller map for the F2P update.
Here are some pictures (THIS MAP CAN CHANGE AT ANY TIME, THE ARTSTYLE ETC IS PLACEHOLDER)
Hello! Long time no see. It’s been a year since we last did an announcement about TABG and we thought it was time for another one. This one is basically relaying the same information from that post and what we’ve been posting in the forums in the last year.
It’s super cool to see that this game still has a small passionate community creating mods, spinoff games, and videos and keeping the game alive through any means possible. We would like to thank you all for keeping the mood up despite having few players.
For those who don’t know, TABG is a spoof of our main game Totally Accurate Battle Simulator. TABG was originally only meant to be an April Fools for the Totally Accurate Battle Simulator players that had been waiting for the game since 2016. We didn’t want to keep them waiting any longer and to release TABS we needed and still need all hands on deck. TABS is currently in Early Access with an estimated release in Q2/Q3 2020. After it’s finished we can work on the TABG update again.
What does this mean for TABG? It means that we will not go F2P as soon as we hoped but we will further down the road. We’re not abandoning the game, we still want to bring in more players and finish the new brawl mode. We’ve looked into outsourcing the F2P update to other studios but since the game was made in three months the code and systems needed are a bit of a mess, we simply have to clean that mess up ourselves.
We know waiting is hard, we’re not happy about how long you have had to and will still have to wait for the update. We apologize for that. We still wear the helmet of shame and will do so until we've updated the game!
