Recently development has started up again - slowly. We're still working full time on TABS but some devs have done work on TABG.
Wilhelm - our game designer is working on a new map. One of the reasons TABG is hard to optimize is the old map. Currently, we're looking into new, more optimized smaller map for the F2P update.
Here are some pictures (THIS MAP CAN CHANGE AT ANY TIME, THE ARTSTYLE ETC IS PLACEHOLDER)
Hello! Long time no see. It’s been a year since we last did an announcement about TABG and we thought it was time for another one. This one is basically relaying the same information from that post and what we’ve been posting in the forums in the last year.
It’s super cool to see that this game still has a small passionate community creating mods, spinoff games, and videos and keeping the game alive through any means possible. We would like to thank you all for keeping the mood up despite having few players.
For those who don’t know, TABG is a spoof of our main game Totally Accurate Battle Simulator. TABG was originally only meant to be an April Fools for the Totally Accurate Battle Simulator players that had been waiting for the game since 2016. We didn’t want to keep them waiting any longer and to release TABS we needed and still need all hands on deck. TABS is currently in Early Access with an estimated release in Q2/Q3 2020. After it’s finished we can work on the TABG update again.
What does this mean for TABG? It means that we will not go F2P as soon as we hoped but we will further down the road. We’re not abandoning the game, we still want to bring in more players and finish the new brawl mode. We’ve looked into outsourcing the F2P update to other studios but since the game was made in three months the code and systems needed are a bit of a mess, we simply have to clean that mess up ourselves.
We know waiting is hard, we’re not happy about how long you have had to and will still have to wait for the update. We apologize for that. We still wear the helmet of shame and will do so until we've updated the game!
We just released a small patch removing all servers except two.
We do this for two reasons:
1 ) We want as many players in one match as possible, this means instead of new players accidentally ending up in empty servers they will end up in the same. We hope this will lead to less confusion and fuller matches.
2) The second server will be used for modding with the EQU8 anti-cheat turned off. We know the community has wanted this for a while. You play on this server at your own risk and will most likely encounter cheaters with mods!
We know a lot of you are waiting on the F2P update, we’re currently still working full time on TABS and don’t know when we will have the time to go F2P with TABG. Thank you for sticking with us!
Make sure to restart steam and verify the integrity of the game files.

In November we posted a list of what we’re working on, you can find it here: https://steamcommunity.com/games/823130/announcements/detail/1700567065814770192 Our hope was to release the big update early this year but as it stands now we are not ready and we need our three programmers on Totally Accurate Battle Simulator.
For those who don’t know, TABG is a spoof of our main game Totally Accurate Battle Simulator. TABG was originally only meant to be an April Fools joke so that the Totally Accurate Battle Simulator players had something to do while they waited for release. We don’t want to keep them waiting any longer and to release Totally Accurate Battle Simulator we need all hands on deck.
What does this mean? It means that we will not go F2P as soon as we hoped but we will further down the road. We’re not abandoning the game, we still want to bring in more players and finish the new brawl mode. We’re also looking into ways of getting help from other studios on the project but as it stands now we don’t know when the F2P update will be.
We never expected this game to have such an amazing dedicated player base, we want to do you justice but for that, we need some more time.
As a consolation we’ve added some new cosmetics to play around with, we devs also promise to wear the new shame-helmet every time we play!
Please email us at info@landfall.se or post in the forums if you have any thoughts or questions regarding this announcement. We cannot answer in the comments under this post.
Remember to restart steam and verify the integrity of the game files to get the update.
TDLR: We’ve added some new cosmetics as compensation for not going F2P in the near future. We will eventually do so but currently, we are focusing on finishing TABS and need all hands on deck.
Hi! Thank you who participated in our first community test of the new brawl mode, we’re super happy with the feedback and are working on the necessary changes. We aim to have another test soon, stay tuned on social media/announcements!
We are also hoping on going free to play (F2P) in the future because of these reasons:
- It’s currently hard to find a match with fifty people as was intended, F2P will help bring in new people.
- The server costs are very high and an F2P update will extend the lifetime of the game.
Don’t worry. We will make sure that the people who got the game before going free will have something unique and cool to make it worth their while.
In order to go F2P we need to finish some major things, this is what we’re working on:
- Finishing the Brawl mode which currently will have three maps.
- Streaming: Behind the scenes, we’re working on a streaming tool that will optimize the game for better performance. This is a bit of a gigantic task but we believe it will be a major lift for the game. It will hopefully lead to less lag spikes, it will optimize the rendering of the world and decrease the workload of the CPU.
- Cosmetics: To be able to go F2P we need an in-game store for cosmetics, we’ve come some way with this but it needs more work to make sure it works correctly.
These things need to be finished before we go F2P to ensure it goes correctly, we will not do so unless these things are in place. Thank you all for sticking with us for this long <3
We just updated the servers so that matches start if no more players join after 3,5 minutes of waiting. This will sometimes mean smaller games but we hope this change is for the better.
Please leave feedback on this change on the forums as we cannot answer here.
