Today on 5 PM CEST / 4 PM BST / 8 AM Pacific will be hosting #dev-chat on our Discord server with Jacek Śliwa, current Project Lead of Green Hell!
Jacek has been working in Creepy Jar for more than 6 years. From the very early stage of the development he was always at the front line, taking care of testing, design, and management. Currently leading the team which takes care of all new content added to Green Hell. Prepare your questions - Jacek will jours to be asked for at least an hour!
Yesterday was #CapybaraAppreciationDay, and together with Orientarium ZOO Łódź, we organized a fabulous party for Tenebris - the cappy, which we are a proud sponsor of! Dozens of people lined up in the ZOO to see capybara on her special day.
We prepared a “cake” - favorite Tenebris vegetables, such as bell peppers, beetroots, and celeries. After finishing this exquisite meal and some fans meet & greet, it was finally time for some relaxation: a long bath in rose petals. We’re sure that Tenebris enjoyed that!
Hey Adventurers, A new update, Storage & Transportation is getting near to its Steam release (date yet to be revealed), and starting today, all of you can test its contents in the new Pre Update Beta! And there are great new features & enhancements to be tested:
Sled - a new addition for transporting heavy objects which won’t fit in your Backpack. You can put two different types of Heavy Objects in one Sled,
Elevator - a new, easier way of transporting heavy resources to both upper floors of your base and to Tree Houses,
Shelf - a new type of universal storage, that you can unpack most of the items from your Backpack - excluding weapons and sticks,
Hanging Shelf - now you can add more storage space with the first wall add-ons,
Small Storage Basket - a new improved version of the Small Stone Stand. It can hold various types of objects: Stone, Obsidian Stone, Charcoal, Bone, Plank,
Large Storage Basket - a new improved version of the Big Stone Stand. It can hold various types of heavy objects such as: Big Stone, Green Coconut, Mud Brick,
Major changes in storage:
More universal Stands and Storages: one universal Leaf Stand can store both Banana and Palm leaves. Also applies to the Log Stand, the Stick Stand and the Long Stick Stand,
New Bamboo versions of Stands: every storage construction has now its bamboo version,
Increased capacity of Stands: some older Stands, such as the Rope Stand, have now extended capacity,
Improved item storing & removing mechanic: now you can place an item in storage with a single button, and take it out with another,
Removed animation delay for picking up items: you no longer have to wait for animation to complete to pick another item. The faster you click, the faster you pick,
Improved Blueprint Snapping System: you should be able to aim and snap your construction blueprints to already existing constructions more precisely.
To take part in the Storage & Transportation Pre Update Beta (PUB), you need to: - have Green Hell added to your Steam library - and downloaded as well, - click the right mouse button on it, and choose “Properties”, - in the popup choose option “Betas”, then enter beta access code: “LoveYourCapybara”, and select “GH_PUB” branch, - now you can play the Storage & Transportation Update contents before their release - in the Pre Update Beta access! - If you still can't see the GH_PUB branch after checking the code in, please restart the Steam client and try again. Please note that you won’t be able to move saves between your main game and PUB.
Since the PUB is still a work in progress, it is not impossible that you may experience crashes - this is when some specific commands will appear in the left-bottom part of the screen. Whenever that happens - please save your progress and restart the game.
The whole point of beta tests is to get your honest feedback - what you love, and what not-so-much regarding the Storage & Transportation Update contents so far. We’ve added even more ways to receive your feedback than earlier: - as you close the game on the testing branch, a Google Forms questionnaire will appear. There’s a set of questions dedicated to every new feature and improvement, and your answers will be helpful to determine whether are they easy to build, and use, simply, do they serve their purpose, #dev-chat with the current Project Lead of Green Hell, working in Creepy Jar for more than 6 years. Thanks to the survey results and your opinions gathered from the Discord channel and the Steam thread together, we’ll shape the final Storage & Transportation Update experience, which we plan to release in just a few weeks!
To celebrate today’s Early Access premiere of Forever Skies, a game made by our friends at Far From Home studio, we’ve just released the Earth & Air Survival Bundle. You can pick up both games with a 10% discount - or, if you have Green Hell already, grab just Forever Skies with a 10% discount. Here’s the link to the offer:
Forever Skies is a first-person post-apocalyptic survival game. Return to Earth, ravaged by an ecological disaster. Fly, upgrade, and customize your mobile high-tech airship base. Scavenge resources to survive, face dangers on the surface, and hunt for viral pathogens to cure a mysterious illness.
We are very proud to announce that we’ve just revealed our second title on the PC Gaming Show! We’re so excited to finally show you a little bit about the game!
Chimera will be a journey to a whole new universe compared to Green Hell, however, it will be built on similar survival foundations you know so well. Game will take place on a mysterious planet in an ever-changing open world, torn by recurring cataclysms, where your mission will be to build a complex industrial system to extract resources, produce goods and expand base. You’ll fight against hordes of alien monsters to defend your base and survive, alone - or with a team of up to three friends.
We kindly invite you to check out Chimera’s Steam page, and if you like to support our newly announced development journey, consider adding Chimera to your wishlist!
We’d like to reassure you that the reveal of Chimera won’t change anything in our plans regarding Green Hell. We’re pretty deep in the works on our next update, and - last but not least - we’re planning to invite you to another Pre Update Beta as soon as within the upcoming weeks!
We have teamed up with our friends and fellow Polish developers Far From Home, the crew behind the upcoming Forever Skies. Their game is hitting Early Access on June 22nd, 2023 and if you are a fan of sci-fi and survival games - this might be something you’d want to check out!

Make sure to wishlist the game as that helps them out a lot.
Dear Adventurers, Green Hell has just exceeded 4.5 million copies on Steam, PlayStation and Xbox! We are deeply thankful for your trust and feedback which led us to this point.
And we’re not stopping now! Currently, we’re deep in works on the Storage & Transportation Update that is coming to Steam. We’re planning to invite you to Pre Update Beta to test new features before their full release, and get to know your thoughts on them! Above that - we’re doing our best to fix the issues reported by you. Again, huge thanks for your support, Adventurers!
We just released newest hotfix, 2.4.3. Here's list of fixed issues: - The Map of the area behind the Snake Pass is now accessible in Survival Mode - Big Stones no longer duplicate after a client connects to the a coop game - Items from cutting trees will now disappear if they are not interacted with for a few days
Thank you for your input in the Pre Update Beta, the What should we add to Green Hell? questionnaire and the steady flow of suggestions on Steam forums, Discord, social media channels and emails! We also wanted to give a special shoutout to all the players who showed us their adventures in the jungle on streams, videos and screenshots.
We’ve collected all your feedback together, confronted it with our plans for the further development of the game and poof! We are very proud to reveal to you our plans for Green Hell!
What's brewing:
Storage & Transportation: because a bigger base needs a bigger amount of resources, and more storage places,
Combat Update: because a bigger base leads to a bigger number of uninvited Tribe members. Prepare for their visit, because they WILL be prepared for you.
New Animals: the more the merrier!
Stay sane while planning your road ahead in the jungle, Creepy Jar Team
Within nearly a year, we've been expanding Green Hell’s gameplay in many new, spectacular ways with diverse additions. Starting with the Spirits of Amazonia Part 3, Animal Husbandry, and closing the year with the Pre Update Beta, we finished with the release of the much anticipated Building Update expansion.
The aforementioned three were already planned in the roadmap, but we’ve added to our plans some unexpected gifts - the Plant Naming Patch, the Name Your Pet Update and the New Achievements Patch.
We observed that all these changes that we’ve made in Green Hell have been stirring your imagination which consequently bloomed with suggestions on a high new level of creativeness. That’s why we’ve prepared a questionnaire for you which will let us know what is your most desired Green Hell update!
Simply click here and mark three answers containing changes that you’re interested in the most. If you have any other ideas, we’d love to hear them out! Put them in our suggestion topic - make sure to leave us some food for thought there as well!
Note: We're not collecting any personal data through this form.
Stay sane and speak what your heart desires! Creepy Jar Team
